I really enjoy long-term family playing! I once had a family that I played for 13 generations. They also had their own cemetery built in the city. And there weren't only graves but some sort of memory museum as well. So basically each generation had their wall space. It had few photos and was somehow decorated to match their vibes. E.g. one sim lived all of his life in Sulani so there were seashells that he collected leaning up the wall. Another couple had a small house in the woods and lots of cats living with them. So there were photos of each of their cats (and cat toys). Their wall was also very wooden and old-looking. My favorite one though was a cool guitarist. He really liked dyeing his hair in bright colors. I literally changed his hair every few days! And every single time he had a new hair color I did a photo of him in a matching surrounding. So by the end he had tons of pictures each with its own color scheme. There are also two of his guitars in his "memory space". It was always so fun to come there and just look at all of this memories of each generation. And of course seeing how it all progresses during a long period of time is very interesting and kinda sad
I did a similar thing with my long-term family in the sims 3! but then it got wayyyy overwhelming since I've been playing them for 37 generations now 😅
The memory gallery is such a cute idea! I've been thinking I needed something similar and I didn't think to put it in the same space as the cemetery but I might just do that!
I’m currently at generation 18 of my legacy and there are some interesting places throughout the world lol. I have one big main house called the legacy house that all the heirs move into when they become elders, and each room is styled after an heir or their partner (kitchen is styled after my gen 4 chef, playground is styled after my gen 10 family man, seance room is styled after my gen 13 paranormal investigator, etc.) I also take very elaborate photos of each heir and their spouse, which are hung up in their rooms. Near that lot is my cemetery lot, which has graves of the extended family and a mausoleum for the heirs and partners. Each pair gets an altar decorated with things that signify their life. And I’ve done my best to keep the main houses each gen has lived in throughout the world, so I can go back and show it off if I want to. But yeah if you want collectibles, like five full collections can be found at the legacy house haha
@@MissRoux Thank you! I started it the same week quarantine began in the US, so two real life years. There were a couple breaks in there but I’ve played it pretty consistently during that time. Gen 18 is currently in her emo, rebellious teen phase lol

In my current legacy I have a pond and a dead cowplant, and I pose the dead cowplant on top of the pond decoratively, and that's the backdrop for all my sims' family photos. I have a really excellent wedding photo of I think my 2nd? gen and it's beautiful, they're in their little outfits, the moon is out, the lighting is working, and the dead cowplant looking over the murder pond is squarely in frame. I love that this game lets you blend sweet storytelling and dead plant on murder pond in the same family like that!
Honestly, the problem with not knowing what a pet needs is why I started downloading mods to begin with. Downloaded the playable pets mod, just so I could see what my pets needed so they didn't run away.
I love Kayla's build and decorating skill. It's so cool. She's also helped me on certain things. I've been using them more in my builds and I see lots of improvement. :)
I love playing with families long-term! I’m only on gen 2 of my legacy because, before that, my main save was my 100 baby challenge, but I’ve started accumulating some special items. My founder was a famous musician so she has that really fancy piano, and as an elder she got really into knitting, so there’s cute rugs and little toys all over. I also had her knit baby and toddler onesies that I’ll probably pass down through future generations. And I’ve already got a bunch of family photos, including some of the founder and her second husband (he died before their only daughter was born) and one of each gen 2 girl (there are 3 total) with Yamachan at the Festival of Youth. I can’t wait to see what else they collect in the future.
I’ve really enjoyed watching the Bell family grow through every generation! I also like the personal touches of adding all of the family photos around the house. It really makes it that more personal and lived in. I honestly want to make sure to do that more in my Sims households.
5:17 - the only kinda weird thing my sims carry with them are the previous heir’s (and pets) graves so every few sun days I get all 28 sun graves and 5 pet graves out to strengthen the connections bc I have an attachment to my dead sims:D
Hahaha glad to see I'm not the only one to make sure that my ghosties don't disappear. I usually create a holiday kinda Halloween, kinda Dia de los Muertos so I always remember to strengthen the connections. So every autumn my sims visit the family graveyard dressed in their costumes and casually hang out with their dead relatives 🤣 It's a tradition at this point for me, I do it in all my saves.
@@henar94 that’s so cool! it gets repetitive strengthening the graves and it’ll only get worse with more graves but I also have a holiday similar to that, “Spirits Day” where they interact with ghosts and I can see the dead relatives roaming the streets! It’s super cool seeing the ghosts walking down the road lol
i saw this video before i knew about the legacy challenge, this video is why i watched it bc i had to know the origin of all this stuff💀💀💀💀but coming back to watch it now that i’m caught up it’s beautiful to see how it all came together
I actually have when I haven't been sure of scale or anything and then build the walls around it. I always have floors and maybe the low border fence so I can adjust.
5:02 I do have my legacy family have a “box” which sounds really inconspicuous but is totally on purpose. I use the cardboard box from eco lifestyle and put things like death flowers and cowberry plants inside of them….as well as spoiled pufferfish nigiri (for obvious reasons)
I loved watching you furnish the house, seeing the love you have for this family shine through 🥰. Watching you on RUclips gave me so many fun ideas for my legacy family, even just having a legacy homestead for my NSB at all (not to mention the NSB 😉). I love taking photos of my sims now, I never used to do that. The upstairs hallway of the homestead is my main photo wall, I have "portrait" photos of all the generations at various stages and its SO much fun to revisit. I don't think I'm going to have room for all 10 generations but we'll see! My favorite room so far was the master suite during Gray Gen. He was a hopeless romantic and he and his daughter were BFFs. His room was filled with artwork she (and her sister) had done, her trophies from scouts, even have a playdough ladybug she made when she was a toddler (thank you PandaSama playdough mod!)! Then of course a TON of pictures. Gray being the super long lived athlete I never got Plum moved in there, Orange moved out shortly after Gray died and hasn't moved back yet (soon!). I'm not looking forward to redecorating that one! Good luck with your own move! Moving is always stressful but at least its a good opportunity to get rid of stuff you didn't even remember you had.
I use the digital pictures frame from the Moschino pack. And after a Gen passes away I add thier photos to the gallery wall. I place about 9 frames on that wall size them differently and set it to change every Sim hr. And I get to see them all pop up from time to time. Haha there's always a Sim in my household that is a great photographer.
kayla you are SOOO TALENTED & CREATIVE 💜 im ~obsessed~ with how you use family photos from so many generations ago! thank you for sharing your work with all of us 🥰✨
I haven’t tuned in to this series in a while, can’t believe that Blue is already an adult! Also sad that Blake is on their way out again :( but glad to see they were brought back!
The house looks amazing ♡♡!! I love legacy challenge houses cuz theyre always so weird, I've been playing with a family for 5 generations and all of the heirs and their spouses are celebrities in game so i ended up with a ton of trophies and rewars from their careers so now everytime i get a new house i make sure to have a thropy room to display all their achievements and i also replaced the del sol valley museum to a museum dedicated to my family photos 🤧♡
The new house looks awesome! I would have had such a hard time bulldozing the house with all their furniture in it that way. My Legacy is on Gen 4/5 right now and my household inventory is so full because I end up keeping everything.😅
I'm on generation 22 currently and I keep one of those creepy dolls from the paranormal pack because a sim a while back was a paranormal investigator and brought it home. Kids love it! They've got some graves and skeletons under the basement too.
Waiting for it to be done so I can download haha! My legacy is onto generation 20- it’s been a long time regular life span. Neighbourhood story progression made the story so much more fun
I've been playing the same linage since 2015 and I go through multiple, multiple generations in a year so it's quite funny to think about. They don't have anything weird though, that's what I come here for xD This house is absolutely beautiful Kayla, I am obsessed with it.
I never play the same family for multiple gens so I decided to do it along with you, but on normal lifespan. I also took the opportunity to do things I've neglected from some of the packs like herbalism and shell collecting and diving photography. So now my Sims have a cabinet of 'heirlooms' like a big conch shell, a playful statue etc! It feels wrong to just have them in the household inventory!
Love the new house you built and the furnishings is so lovely especially with all the sentimental pieces added in. Yes, I take all my sims collection with them from things they acquired along the way. It’s what makes their house feel special 😊
Kayla i love it!!!! I would love to see you build a suburban house with no budget and any CC you want! I know you don’t use CC a lot but I would love to see a build from you with no limits!
I did a legacy a little while ago where the first matriarch was a painter but she ended up dying before completing one of her pieces, and I made a copy of every single one of her masterpieces, so I took all those paintings, including the incomplete one and hung them up in every single house for the entire legacy, using the completed masterpieces to frame the incomplete canvas, it looked pretty cool.
For me, I really like Sims builds. (What do you like about Sims builds?) It’s building! A chance to be creative! It has THE POND it has THE POND! I can tell you all about it!
I love my generational families!! My favorite thing to do is save the grave stones and have my past sims’ ghosts come back from my grave yard! I also love your videos!
Simsiiiiie, could u do a video showing us a little tour of what we would get when downloading the base game for free this October, like what's in CAS or some of your favorite Base Game Only Builds to download off the gallery, and game hacks could be fun too like how to download mods and how to use some of the cheats! I'll download the game anyways but i just want to amplify my excitement leading up to getting the game. I'm really thrilled to be able to join the fun
I downloaded this after finally updating my game and just to let you know, the terrain (possibly misspelled) in the front yard with the second level was gone
You should do a build challenge where you work completely backwards. Like, start with clutter and accessories, then do furniture, then make the rooms, then the outside last
Random Legavy challenge idea: One on your heirs could be Donna Bell -> Belladonna is a flower that was used in many European medieval beauty treatments, it was effective, but when used incorrectly, it is highly toxic, perfect gor a goth/withy aesthetic.
completely off topic, but i was just thinking about how i have been watching lilsimsie since i was a junior/senior in hs & now i've graduated college and kayla has too! and she's married! *cue night changes by 1D*
Just dropping in a comment. Not sure if you're going to see it cause its 2 months old, but yes I am still playing on my same family that I made when I first started. I started the sims for the first time in October (after finding you on you tube) and I made vampires. I have watched almost all of your videos since then and I know how you feel about vampires, but it is SOOO much fun to play with. They turned out to be very good parents where every adult in the house will queue up to take care of a crying baby that its almost annoying because they glitch each other out. I made a vampire and married Lilith and then also Caleb from the pack and I am in love with their personalities. I haven't quite got to gen 4 because they keep having kids (because of being immortal) and then I fall in love with their kids traits and begin a new family with their kids. My first vampire couple with Lilith now has 8 kids and 14 grandchildren and I've played out each of the kids lives to the point of having all the grandchildren. So yes, there are weird people that play out really long sim families. My first vampires are over 200 days old and I'm not bored yet. Lol.
I have a 18 generation legacy family right now and They always have a radio from the very first generation and it hasn't broken once. I keep putting on in the middle of the dining table. 😂😅
I do the same with the photos, I am obsessed but I also use the Ravasheen photo ting to make them into polaroids and taped up pics so it is easier to to display a bunch at a time.
with kind of forgetting the cat- i do the same thing with sims. i play with autonomy off and when i have more than one sim i find myself forgetting about one of them for an excessive amount of time.
after trying to build more recently your building is like magic because you don't realise how hard it can be to make something that looks nice and semi realistic. Granted i only have base game to work with but i bet it's still super hard like floor plans are my nemisis lmao
My current and only sim family is 14 generations in and I turned the museum in Willow Creek into their family museum. Every generation has 2 paintings and some sort of item as well as all of the urns of all the previous sims due to how unreasonable it was to drag everything to a new site each generation.
Yes, Simsie, I do end up with weird stuff. My favorite way to play ANYTHING is collecting stuff, so all my sims end up on giant lots with full on museums. I've never had the patience to collect literally everything with the same sim, but it's fine because I enjoy the process.
In a current family I have, one Sim is a painter. I put the Baby Yoda statue kinda in front of a corner in his room and took a photo to make a painting of it. I put up the painting on the wall and have decided that no matter what, that painting is going to stay in the home that my sims are living in and if I make them move, the painting will go with them
I've been playing my current sims family for over 10 generations and it's on long lifespan because I like to just age them up when I feel like it. Then when a new gen starts I move them out and set their money really low to start from the beginning again.
I love these long family gameplay, i once had a sim of my rags to riches who had five kids and raise them all by herself with no money at all. It was a nightmare, but a wonderfull nightmare ❤ One of my girls (Dimelo) became a thief and had other kids named HoneyComb and Beyoncé. And my other girl (Lubiane) fell in love with a guy who looked exacly like the human form of Sherek I'll always love them ❤
I was playing with a 6 or 7 generation family (past-tense because my family console doesn't have enough power to load up the save anymore) And my sims carry around a painting that the 2nd gen heir painted of their mother (so the 1st gen) and the mother was playing with a cowplant. It's not a high-quality painting but I've dragged that painting around for ages, and it's now very sentimental.
Interesting things in my legacy challenge save:Juice from my deadly cowplant😌(whenever you milk a cowplant you get juice colored by depending on your sims emotion😅) I have about 20 items of those juices😂Books of life: I have two writer sims and they wrote me some books of life to keep my sims alive😃Mini cow plants: My army is growing that is all, Decor called plates🙃And photos
I don’t play the same save long enough to ever make enough money for a nice house and I’m always jealous of all the beautiful builds I see. I’m determined to stick it out on this save until I have 100k and can treat them to a glorious mansion
Beautifully decorated as always! They're going to love their new home I'm sure! :D I am impressed by 8 generations, I have a family I made when I first played Sims 4, but I get distracted by new packs and make saves for each pack, so I have a supernatural save for my werewolves, aliens etc, where they can have fun with Sims, which is actually a clone of my first ever save lol, and then I have a save for the wedding pack but their alternate universe versions of them have now started interacting with my legacy which is weird lol. So with that in mind I'm on the third generation, all my generation 2 spares though have their own families and I rotationally play them all with aging off, so I can ensure they graduate high school, learn to ride a bike now lol, and then sort them out so they get partners etc, and then I return to my heir's family and turn aging on lol, my husband calls me a controlling person cos of this, but I like them all to be happy, and they're all my family. I'm just now playing my last second generation spares to get their kids who are mainly kids and teens through school. Then I'll move on to the Gen 3 spares and sort them too lol! I do have the neighbours of my legacy that got entangled into my family at all generations so they too get added to my rotational play lol, one of my friends marvels at how I keep them all straight dealing with so many, but I love just helping them get through their lives. The game does surprise me and unravel some of the plans i have for them, which again my husband laughs at lol! This week though my current family I was playing, the Behr-Ojo's, it's Yuki Behr and her wife Miko Ojo's family (her sister Candy married a Gen 2 spare and I liked Yuki's hair too much to not play with her lol), she has one teen, four kids and a dog, and I thought I'd transported myself into a Lilsimsie legacy, the kid set fire to the science kit (not enough mental skill) and not one sim was able to put it out, the fire got sooo big (outside thankfully) but it was crazy! Then today i played them, and they were having 'Spooky day' that I made for them to celebrate and both parents have at least level 7 skill in cooking and they set fire to the stove, and it was the same sim that nearly burned in the science fire and I tried to get her to extinguish it to get over her fear of the previous fire but nope she goes into panic mode. That was the last day I was playing them before I switched to another family thankfully lol! I'm a little scared to go back again lol!
Kayla! At this point I think the Bell family would be iconic enough to deserve their own gallery of memorabilia museum style. Just put a ton of their family photos in order of heir 1 to current gen
*Me with a 7 mermaid kingdom save based on the rainbow that is on Gen 4* yes it does lag to build on your long term saves I've been there! Even when it comes to bulldozing and building a lot from your library.
I was totally into taking care of the animals when Cats & Dogs came out. If you pet isn't happy or fine, just ask them what's wrong and a thought bubble will appear over their head. If they have a sad face they likely need attention. If they need food, they will show the food bowl. If they have badder needs it will show a litter box for the cat (clean my litter box!) or a poo for the dog (I need outside!) I always tried to keep my Sims somewhat on a schedule like one would in real life. Time to eat? Check the pet's food bowl as well. Low fun? Play with the pet. (This gets both their fun up wonderfully.) Have nothing to do? Love and cuddle the pet. Keep the litter box in the bathroom (where you will hopefully see it often enough) until you can afford the laser kitty litter box. No idea if you'll see this, much less even remember any of the things I wrote, but I find it important. I notice all your pets in both your Bell and Potts families... It pains me. "The food bowl has been empty for two Sim days!" "Yes! Leftovers on the table! Go for it, Mustard!" "Noooo! Don't throw that food away!" "Your Sim is off work today and you don't know what to do with your Sim?! You dog has been begging you for attention! Play with the dog!!!" "Your Sim's fun is low? The TV takes forever! Play with the pet instead! Play with the pet before they run away!!!" T-T
You NEED to try to recreate Casa Loma! It’s a castle style mansion in Toronto, Canada. Just went there for a wedding and it’s STUNNING - you can find layouts online!!!
I wanna see you build a mansion that’s longer than 20 minutes with no budget, and no speed build. The videos where you make the house in real time are the best!
I do short, normal and even long lifespan. I used to do the collectibles but not into it as much anymore. I dont really take pics of my sims either. I did start a graveyard for my household recently which is a new household as well.

I love how clean and spacious this house is. And the ghost wallpaper feature wall looks oddly classy for what it is LOL
I dont know if this has been done but have you ever tired making a house furniture first? Then walls and floors??
I actually have when I haven't been sure of scale or anything and then build the walls around it. I always have floors and maybe the low border fence so I can adjust.
5:02 I do have my legacy family have a “box” which sounds really inconspicuous but is totally on purpose. I use the cardboard box from eco lifestyle and put things like death flowers and cowberry plants inside of them….as well as spoiled pufferfish nigiri (for obvious reasons)
I love your videos where there’s a budget challenge- literally was hoping to see more today and then I saw you uploaded this!
Simsie: I don't have any friends, it's just me and my cat
Dan: What about me ?!?!? Your literal husband ?!?
Kayla I am in love with this build… Gerald would be so proud! 😊Sending love from England 🏴 ❤
OH. MY. GOODNESS. kayla this is hands down your BEST build. Its so.. nice. im not sure how to describe it but i think this is your best build!
I'm so happy I was able to download this house I'm in Love with all her builds 💙 Thank you Kayla 😊
I was literally waiting for this 😂😂.can’t wait to watch, you always build and furnish amazingly
Love the new house you built and the furnishings is so lovely especially with all the sentimental pieces added in. Yes, I take all my sims collection with them from things they acquired along the way. It’s what makes their house feel special 😊
i cannot WAIT to see you play in this save tomorrow ❤
Simsie: "It's just me and her really"
Dan:
Kayla i love it!!!! I would love to see you build a suburban house with no budget and any CC you want! I know you don’t use CC a lot but I would love to see a build from you with no limits!
I did a legacy a little while ago where the first matriarch was a painter but she ended up dying before completing one of her pieces, and I made a copy of every single one of her masterpieces, so I took all those paintings, including the incomplete one and hung them up in every single house for the entire legacy, using the completed masterpieces to frame the incomplete canvas, it looked pretty cool.
i’ve watched every video of this legacy challenge, my favorite thing to look forward too !!! ❤️
will be so sad when it ends 😢
Playing SIMS 4 and watching lilsimsie at the same time..you always inspire me :)
I'm so excited to see the interior! The video of the exterior got me through jury duty
Like, start with clutter and accessories, then do furniture, then make the rooms, then the outside last
i think this house is my favourite one you've built thus far! excellent job!
At this point, I feel so nostalgic! I love this family so much 😭
Random Legavy challenge idea:
One on your heirs could be Donna Bell -> Belladonna is a flower that was used in many European medieval beauty treatments, it was effective, but when used incorrectly, it is highly toxic, perfect gor a goth/withy aesthetic.
I absolutely adore this house, it’s crazy similar to my family home the house I grew up in ❤
completely off topic, but i was just thinking about how i have been watching lilsimsie since i was a junior/senior in hs & now i've graduated college and kayla has too! and she's married!
Can the next Bell heir be named Adore as in Adore Bell??? ding dong lol
Or even Adora so her name comes out to Adora Bell(adorable)
Or you could go for ‘Adora’ as in adorable!
Omg that's so good, I was thinking Dior Bell but I think Adore Bell is better lol
Someone’s been commenting that for so many months and it hasn’t happened yet but hopefully she will use the suggestion
I think Adora Bell rolls off better, but great idea nonetheless!
Same!
YES! I was soooo excited to see this video after watch the exterior speed build yesterday!!!!!
I am honestly in LOVE with your builds!
In a current family I have, one Sim is a painter. I put the Baby Yoda statue kinda in front of a corner in his room and took a photo to make a painting of it. I put up the painting on the wall and have decided that no matter what, that painting is going to stay in the home that my sims are living in and if I make them move, the painting will go with them
that's funny I have. a wedding picture I have in the house
It was a nightmare, but a wonderfull nightmare ❤
One of my girls (Dimelo) became a thief and had other kids named HoneyComb and Beyoncé. And my other girl (Lubiane) fell in love with a guy who looked exacly like the human form of Sherek
I'll always love them ❤
I really love your buildings. There is no corner in your House that is empty and the decorations... Ughh soo good. You got taste 👍
I started making gallery photos of my sims because of you and I CAN'T STOP
I love this play through, I might binge watch again as I’m holiday from work 😊
simsie you ate this build upppp ♡
I don’t play the same save long enough to ever make enough money for a nice house and I’m always jealous of all the beautiful builds I see. I’m determined to stick it out on this save until I have 100k and can treat them to a glorious mansion
You are such a talented sim builder. I enjoy watching your build videos
I love the driveway idea! I’ll have to try that on a build. Thanks for inspiring me to build more and even start my our RUclips channel!
Beautifully decorated as always! They're going to love their new home I'm sure! :D
I am impressed by 8 generations, I have a family I made when I first played Sims 4, but I get distracted by new packs and make saves for each pack, so I have a supernatural save for my werewolves, aliens etc, where they can have fun with Sims, which is actually a clone of my first ever save lol, and then I have a save for the wedding pack but their alternate universe versions of them have now started interacting with my legacy which is weird lol.
I'm a little scared to go back again lol!
i love this series so much
If they have badder needs it will show a litter box for the cat (clean my litter box!) or a poo for the dog (I need outside!)
I always tried to keep my Sims somewhat on a schedule like one would in real life.
All of your vids always make your fans smile keep up the good work!!!!!!
I’ve been waiting ever since you uploaded the exterior build ❤
Love Simsie's commentary lol
I wanna see you build a mansion that’s longer than 20 minutes with no budget, and no speed build. The videos where you make the house in real time are the best!
These speed builds make me have headaches
I do short, normal and even long lifespan. I used to do the collectibles but not into it as much anymore. I dont really take pics of my sims either. I did start a graveyard for my household recently which is a new household as well.
