For me the Lancia Astura Pininfarina Cabrio is THE absolute highlight of the auction...! Not only extremely rare, but man oh man, that design, that colour, interior, everything, really breathtaking! Unfortunately not within my budget....
By the way: Many Lancia's were / are named after letters from the Greek alphabet ("Delta", "Ypsilon", "Kappa", etc.). I believe I heard you say "Lancia Lambada". It should be "Lambda". The Lambada is a Brazilian dance...
@@CarsWithHNK You're welcome! I subscribed to your channel and I'm looking forward for more interesting topics! Regarding Lancia as a brand and the Lambda in particular: it is such a pity that nowadays too few people know about the amazing (specially pre-war) history of the brand. Not many car manufacturers made so many inventions, with such a lasting influence and impact on the automotive history. The Lambda is a perfect example: it was the first car with a V4-engine, monocoque chassis, independent front suspension with newly developed shockabsorbers, first car with an oil filter, with engine parts made of aluminium (specially the transmission housing) as to save weight, etc.. Overall the construction was ten times stiffer and much lighter than the average car of that era, which made driving the Lambda a sensation in terms of speed and driveability. You might say that the great successes of the post-war Lancia's in the rallye sport, can be traced back to the Lambda. And it is fair to say that without the Lambda and other Lancia's, the evolution of the motorcar into the car as we know it today, would have been totally different. Best regards from the Netherlands!
