- An old wine cellar, the Queen's private apartment, a ghostly stairwell and onto the roof are all things we get to have a look at as we go for an exclusive behind the scenes look at Hampton Court Palace.
Thanks for sharing I love all UK royals history, especially Tudor and Victorian times I learn something new each and every time and have been studying this for almost half a century Thanks again!
Joanie Jett 71 it’s a very interesting era :)
When I was there back in March in the Georgian wing I walked to some doors that I thought were part of the self-guided tour (they were slightly open) and it lead to a smaller but old fashioned stairwell that was empty and sort of dim, In that moment it was like I was transported back in time, I can't really explain it, I felt like someone from that time was about to walk into the stairwell from that era. The closet i'll ever be in that time.
Anywho, I walked down the steps and out a door that took a bit of force to open (I was being careful not to damage) and it lead to another gallery area and the attendant gave me a weird "are you supposed to be there?!" look but didn't say anything. Just my experience at the mysterious stairwell.
Tyler L that’s a very British thing: to give you a look but not to say anything. so what happened after that? Did you continue browsing around or you came back from the stairs
Awesome insight beyond the regular tourist routes. Thanks for making and sharing.
Wow, the view from the roof is beautiful.
Laurenteamec I wish I had this access when I did my video. Would have been even more engaging :)
Very interesting! Love the view from the roof!
Henrys Adventures same here
Been on a guided walk on the roof here,( members only ).A fantastic view from up there, you can see for miles, view of clock court and surrounding roofs and chimneys is breathtaking.
Thanks for that! I wish I got access to the roofs when I was doing my video. Although it’s one of the most engaging videos I’ve created to date, this scenery would have added some extra touches :)
amazing ! it's a shame we can't visit such rooms, I think it would be amazing to stand in the same room that Jane Seymour gave birth. It would be quite a privilege
then that is amazing and I would definitely pay a little extra to be able to visit such rooms, thank you :)
Great video. Please cover more of London's many ghost stories and hauntings :)
Nigel Fortune interesting topic :)
**Beautiful**, and what stunning gardens too!
j4d3 goat they used to throw a lot of parties there
Awesome palace... I have many plan here...🌐🇬🇧❤️
Loved my visit there...
mxylpx Same here :)
I live in south east London but Hampton is nice and that place is nice...I been there before u made this video but this helped me the royal years...
I'm sorry that's so dumb the main reason people go to Hampton Court Palace is because of Henry VIII even though so much of his part of the palace was destroyed and you decide to make rooms that his wives literally lived in/gave birth in unavailable to the public??? Why??? I really cannot comprehend the stupidity of that.
I can see my house at 0:09!
Impressive!
can they reopen the blocked arch?
Is it true there is an underground passage the goes from Hampton Court Palace to St Mary's Parish Hampton that can accommodate a horse and carriage?
Stephen Chapman that’s an interesting question. Would love to know that as well :)
where's the ghost??? want to see
Wow, what a coat that guy has!
We went there yesterday
I was there yesterday
amazing place
Watercolour Society also loved it :)
I went there in my school trip
At the end they usually credit the guy doing the interview. This guy--no credit.
I live near that palace
Roblox Nave blessed :)
I've been there
Been there
Khoddiey - Rene Clark done that
live at hanworth
Roblox Nave hanworth used to be nice, but then Sunbury Cross, Twickenham and what not made it into a shithole, which is sad.
Not very easy to visit as a tourist and is not free. 16£
Bungle2010 It is a railway station not a frequent and convenient underground station. For a local person there isn't a difference but for a tourist like me it's a problem (tickets, timetables, platforms etc.)
Bungle2010 Bungle2010 Thanks for the reply. The tip about the Oyster card is nice thank you. Every half an hour isn't frequent for a three day tourist. I would choose Windsor palace instead. For a second or third visit to London both palaces are a nice choice for more experienced visitors.
It's not hard per say quite simple if you really want to visit. It's outside of London so yes it's not going to have the ease of a tube station. Nonetheless, very friendly walking route to the palace its-self which includes a nice view of it from the bridge.
Hampton hasn't been free for visitors since the early 80s (I believe it was) Costs to keep up such a palace and I fully support it. Might want to stick to some of the nice parks if you want free admission.
I would have to agree with the other guys and say that is not so difficult to visit the palace. You are probably saying that because most of the attractions are in a central location and the tube is running in between every 2 minutes. Still, HCP is ranked as an accessible location. If you plan your day (s) you will have no issues. It has been a while since you posted this comment and I assume you’ve been to London already. If you ever come again, consider the London Pass. Combining tickets for different attractions makes it cheaper ruclips.net/video/3MTYLl8D9bU/видео.html
