I was a huge fan of Gene's and even saw him in concert four times in the 60s. I don't know how this song slid by me unheard. It's just wonderful! Definitely rivals Johnny Mathis.

Wow - first time I have ever heard Gene sing this song which I have always attributed to my other favourite singer Johnny Mathis - lovely version from Gene though.
I remember this song as a Johnny Mathias song but Gene's version is glorious as well. He could sing a love ballad to melt the heart...sigh. :o)

@@maxygb79 As far as I'm concerned Johnny Mathis owns this song but I do love hearing wonderful covers of it like Gene's. Pitney is my all time favorite solo artist so I am a bit biased lol :o)
