Yo! I sang for Raid. Thanks for the shout out! Also, the difference in vocals on the CD was the earlier style was more influenced by YOT and the later metallic style not so much.
Great video as usual lads, particularly enjoyed this one. Really nice to hear RAID get a mention, brilliant band. The choices were on point, even SG getting a mention in there too.😜 No Conflict though?🤷😂
Alright Heath, it’s Tommy from Liverpool. I remember you did me a tape with the raid 12” & the Another Victim demo. That Another Victim intro on the demo is still one of the hardest things I’ve heard. Hope you’re well
@ hi Tom, hope you are well. Yes I remember, Another Victim are brill, and still listen to them occasionally. So many good vegan bands back then, not to mention Statement. 🤘
I'm a farmer, breed Herdwick sheep, so I reckon I should probably step aside on this one. But for my ears Youth of Today & then when Ray & Porcel morphed into Shelter, seemed to push a more positive & less confrontational message out there compared to what seemed to be an ultra militant agenda Karl was pushing out with Earth Crisis. Big fan of Drop Dead too.
I nearly didn’t get let in to a gig in Leeds due to my Raid tshirt! The above the law album is their Words of War 7” with a few new songs at the beginning, hence the change.
Cool selection lads. Love that Vegan Reich 7", very punk compared to what followed. Icons Of Filth very important band to me back in the day and still are to this day. Ditto with MDC, got me into hc in 84 and love all their lyrics etc. Dave is still a lovely dedicated human. DropDead mentally good man. YOT definitely awesome. Chokehold great too. Was never an Earth Crisis fan, like I got the All Out War 7" when it came out and Firestorm when it came out later, I just don't have the attention span for chug core, but respect to them for what they did, they didn't inspire me as I was meat free from 84. But great stuff lads. Honourable mentions to Conflict, SubHumAns - evolution 7", Concrete Sox, early Sacrilege, etc. My friends younger brother became a vegetarian as we would keep playing sheep etc by the Electro Hippies
I'd go Earth Crisis No. 1. I went vegan because of them. Undying and Morning Again would be up there. From the UK I liked Slavearc (wirral/sheffield?, also hardline) and more recently xRepentancex I thought were great. Loved all the Euro edge metal stuff like Liar, Reprisal, Purification, etc. Vegan Reich i thought had one good song (the way it is).
Wish I could be Vegan but even if I was, I couldn’t listen to people singing about animal abuse. I applaud these bands tho. I can’t believe I didn’t know what Chicken Squawk was about 🙄 Another thing you guys have taught me about my own generation 😆

That would explain the vocal change ?
@@xdanny43x yeah. The 7" came out maybe a year or 2 before the Above the Law recordings.
Top 5 live albums? Or have I missed that one?
love your pronounciation of "punk"!

My tattoo artist from Syracuse got me into Earth Crisis. I really dug the album Slither but the earlier stuff was their best.
Hard to swallow in the background 🤌
Not punk but Carcass and Cattle Decapitation. Also Oi Polloi!

I preferred culture over morning again , and I certainly agree that the way it is ,is certainly their best song
@xdanny43x culture were great, and 'Born of you' does sound a lot like chokehold from your list.

Firestorm is still a fucking banger.
