Enjoyed that Mr Tweed....very funny as well. I have been involved with all things balance of late....bought one of these ebay motorcycle twin upright wheel balance rigs. Bloody thing is useless....get the wheel to where it showed balanced.....take it off the rig....put it back on 90deg around....should still show balanced.....but of course it dont. Comes with a rod or axle and 2 machined cones....when I look at the cones....the hole is drilled way of center. I think....wish I had a lathe like Mr Tweed....I could make 2 new ones. Very frustrating....was going to send it back then I thought....try wheels own axle....no need to use the badly made cones. Result perfect....get it down to 5gram...bet you could knock up cone like that in a jiff. Trying to figure out a way to balance car wheels now....not so easy. Merry Christmas to you and Mrs Tweed....hope she is back on her feet now.

Happy boxing day Mr Tweed (I missed Christmas)! You should have sent this to Mr Crispin and got the jet engine chaps at Rolls Royce to look at it. I know what you mean about excuses to use the lathe and mill. I am building another turbocharger jet engine just as yet another project. I did my first in 2001, only just got around to doing a second one. So, looks like 2024 for both of us to get our Rileys on the road then?
