I dislocated my knee in June 2023, and its currently December. It was my transition from Senior year HS to Freshman College. I did rehab up until I went to college and then was unable to find time to continue rehab (even though I must have had like 1 more visit left) It has been plenty of time and I have no discomfort, No symptoms, and not weak in my knee whatsoever. However, I have just purchased a ski season pass, and I am worried about if It is too soon to go out on the slopes. Should I be worried that it will pop back out? I am going to wear my brace, but I still feel like I need some reassurance on this. Should I see a doctor? or should I be all set?

My doctor said in can never get 100% like it was before but he said that optimzing everything around the knee could make it stronger than before but my ligaments would never fully be as good as before.
Good rehab and stability training has been key for me to return to sport. Be patient it takes time.

Hey guys, I dislocated mine in October 29th. Seemed like it would never get better but I'm doing amazingly now. Flexibility is the same as before but my leg has very Little strength. I can't even extend my leg without support! Anyway, things are improving incredibly fast now. Good luck!

@@Maniman786 I'm absolutely not the person you should ask advice. I will share my experience though but please take it with a grain of salt.
My traumatologist had advised against bending my leg to any degree whatsoever, and I had to go through four weeks of using a full leg splint/brace. During this time, whenever I tried to bend it (when not wearing the brace) I couldn't get to 90°. Any time I would stretch my leg back I would also get a little pain from my quad to my knee.
After the full leg brace, I was told to buy a smaller one that stabilized the knee. I once took it off and started to do a few reps of slowly bending as much as I was comfortably able to, then stretching back. Next day I had recovered a lot of mobility.
Not really sure whether I acted correctly but it worked, not sure how much of the recovery was thanks to the repose and how much thanks to the exercises. But two days ago I started walking like normal and everything's been normal since. My injured leg does get tired easily though haha. Anyway sorry for the long explanation hope you can make some use of it.

@@Maniman786 coming from a fellow knee dislocated partner, I believe it is normal not being able to bend your knee till where you can touch your foot to the back of your thigh. A doctor who I had talked with had said not being able to bend is a part of a good body's reaction to coping up with the patellar dislocation. And you can't bend whatsoever due to the restricted feeling so don't try and bend it, you'll only end up straining your leg even more which is the opposite to what you should be doing right now. Take plenty of rest and consult a doctor if you haven't already. Hope you recover soon and take care
