I like Artosis but I just love watching him lose. The best streams are when he goes down all the way to B. It's instant karma for being so dismissive of his opponents' skills, his own shortcomings and people trying to help him.
Tasteless recounted on his show how Artosis said "fuck that guy, he doesn't know what he's talking about" when they were waiting around for SC2 to come out. The guy was trying to tell Tasteless that he should probably go back home to Kansas rather than being nearly homeless and banking on a SC2 show. Though that gamble paid off, it shows that Artosis has this "I'm right, they're wrong" mindset.
Theres a degree of better at which you basically are guaranteed to win. But if the difference is not too high, specific execution can win a game. All-in strategies are risky but highly rewarding if they nail the opponent. If matches are more than a single game, the chances the same all-in will win get even smaller. So in some way, SC ladder could very well change to a BestOf3 format to count for a win, so the degree of cheese and wonky disconnects gets much smaller, maybe at some high ranking MMR that format would be better.
@Jorak this narrative that he lose to much Worst oponents is a lie. He and those b ranks are around the same lvl. A tiny mistake wont cost u the game if ur actualy better. I don't see My Boy royal loosing to scrubs. Like ever. Bcs he is actualy better much better
@Jorak ah ok still a tiny mistake won't cost u the game if ur better than ur oponents. The mistakes in the case of artosis are not tiny more like the kind that cost the game type. Hell even god himself aka flash makes mistakes, his are actualy tiny thou
I love how he's trying to equate a Starcraft, a game in which literally everything you do is within your own control, to poker, a game largely dependent on chance.
Poker across many hands like in a tournament is largely based on skill. He is comparing starcraft to poker because in a single game of poker or starcraft luck will have a bigger impact than when you would play a series of games.
@@CtrlAltDfeat That's true. But literally any game with a component of skill will behave that way over a large enough sample size. But whereas you probably have to play thousands of games of poker for skill and your own decisions to be the overriding determinate factor, that's true from game 1 in Starcraft.
@@mjxw yeah I agree with your point on having a large enough sample size but also id like to add starcraft matches differ in showcasing player skills. The games where someone cheeses the other doesn't show much skill generally and I think thats where artosis compares it to poker where a lucky hand might win here and there but skill will eventually (or hopefully quickly) override it.
That is not fair at all, Starcraft within a certain range of skill will allow for a lot of bullshit for the less skilled player to win a match more so with certain imbalances depending on the matchup map etc. Poker certainly allows for advantage players to lose in the short term too to bullshit, they are very similar, it's a fair comparison very fair. You want an example of something where you can't bullshit a loss try chess.
@@jmaxwell2121 I got cheesed in chess all the time when I was 6. my older brother used to fly his knights right over my line of rooks and mass recall his pawns right on top of my king.
"the winning players is not better" the thesis of artosis. Thus those that dominate the ladder/tournaments are just lucky? They win consistently, otherwise they would be eliminated/fluctuate in rating, play and simple.
I love how he normally has 100 bpm but when he starts imitating chat the bpm lowers, like imitating chat is a healthy thing for his heart
loool
lmao
Learning so much with this addition to the stream, contrary to all of our assumptions this might be therapeutic for him lol
It's a coping mechanism, seems to work wonders on him
haha yeah, i think during the game he's just high strung
"The guy went two base all-in." - Artosis, the man infamous for hardly ever going beyond two bases
2 bases, 50 factories and 300 tanks. Art of Artosis.
He is such a joke lmao but I love him
@@michaelbauer4040 ye same
But they're not all in. It's just 2-3 bases where he shoudl be on 4-5, but he's just not good enough to multi-task.
Flash would not be involved in gambling.
A bunch of starcraft broodwar players tried to get into poker tournaments. I don't know if flash was into that.
even in his poker fantasy he's losing to luck
I could only imagine Arty’s tilt after cooling him on the river in a lovely game of poker.

Same feeling here
Man he is so unreasonable its great. Exactly how I am as well at SC2. If I ever listened to the crap I say, id be a sad man lol
Artosis is the head off the pilot one in army of the dead
I like how there's a bpm counter there😂
BUT HE BEAT YOU ARTOSAAAAAASS
It’s true, you should win every game against bad players. Flash would.
@Dead Infested lol what

@Jorak any game. What Game u think a tiny mistake cost u the game? Not broodwar
"Better player wins". Artosis: REEEEEEEEEEEEEE HE SO BAD
I would love to play poker with Artosis. He's one of the easiest marks I've ever seen

Yes it is but max was 140 when he goes to pie :D We was waiting for rage moment too, but he did not piss off too much those days :(

Yeah but he beat you.
Flash would have won at poker even if he had a junk hand

I don't know anything too..cus I know Arty is not good as a SC player but as a caster, I can tell I love him more..

...a lot of words just to say that he DID in fact beat you Arty :)
SlayerS_`BoxeR` would've beat Artosis in poker with any two.
I only know Artys games through this channel, does he ever win?
Is Anger HEALTHY?
I'm legitimately curious, does anyone watch this guy for anything other than his rage?
Probably not
Artosis is just a jerk. That's why he'll never be able to hold S rank for any significant amount of time.
I don’t see a jerk, just a person with too much ego.
@@SaiKisaragi There's a difference? He's probably insufferable in real life.
Yeah, SC is not exactly poker my dude. There is more to the game then just picking optimal strategy
lol
