that aint skateboarding man. thats hypebeast shit for clout.
You gotta understand him as a person and where he comes from to truly understand what this clip represents. Watch some interviews, read up about his childhood, watch some of his video parts and what city he skates. It’s bigger than skating, it’s culture. If you know him then you know his skating is verified, he can wear whatever he wants 🫡 🤝
he’s literally 2 time skater of the year buddy… it’s literally skateboarding 😂
* Nollie heels a handrail to hill *
“That ain’t skateboarding”. Sure FasinFrank6941
Skateboarding is about empowerment through creativity = LV is about disempowerement through hyperconsumerism
Somebody get this man more money he’s crying broke
Bobby your comments - that a person should be looked down upon because he's not spending money on luxury items - are a screaming example of what we are commenting on here i.e. artificial walls created by consumerism. I salute you!
Tom Penny famously kickflipped a double set in timberlands on some randoms board whilst on a night out 😂
Not remotely the same
Those aren't not luxury level and what's most impressive is that they had no board feel to speak of, that's the real part of it
Both did a gnarly flip trick in timberlands. I'm sure you can point out nuances, but superficially they are the same.@@shutupkarl5389
@@infinidominion Seems like a small detail. besides as far as I know no one has stated what kind of timberland boots Tom Penny was wearing. The fact they are timberland boots lack of board feel is assumed in both cases.
columbia boots, not timberland
What’s even more interesting is the collaboration with Timberland. A luxury “high” fashion label associating with a blue collar work boot company that the typical LV shopper would never ever wear. Also, these are the same 6” boot with a LV label and all of a sudden they’re worth $5,000… to fashion victims. 😂😂😂
Yes and the idea of branding a Tim with an LV logo is played out it's been done a million times... Pharrel was "lacking" on this one
@@alexandredoyen8227 yeah, a very lazy and unoriginal collab.
@@Desmond1of1 think of it it's kind of insulting for blue collar workers.
Its okay to think this sucks.
this sucks
Dude is beyond talented on a board but this to me couldn't be more unrelatable...again to me. "Luxury" brands imo have no business in skateboarding
They're not in it or skating theyre in it for Tyshawn.
You realize the entire point of skateboarding is to push boundaries regardless of how uncomfortable it makes people right?
It's funny how skaters find it so badass when they defy others' norms but when it's their norms being defied, they meltdown.
PS luxury shit is VAUNTED in skateboarding. Ever hear of supreme? Polar?
@@itmeurdad it's absolutely right about skaters unable to see themselves in the mirror. That being said, that's not applicable to this particular scenario.
Are you going to pretend that outfit is suitable and comfortable to skate with? It's like going to the bowling and wearing a pair of caterpillars boots... If I buy a 200 dollars jacket the last thing I'm going to do is wear it to bail and slam the f out it on a skateboard.
He is not 'breaking barriers' here. The dude is wearing those clothes because he is about that life, plain and simple, deal with it.
Personally I'd never buy any luxury merchandise even if I could afford it. Paying for overpriced items that I could get elsewhere with the same or better quality for half the price is one of the dumbest things one could possibly do. It just speaks volumes of the character of a person
@@Fer8aTVThe dude is a rich pro skateboarder, he doesn’t care what you do, he’s gonna keep doing him. Also, you can skate whatever you’re comfortable in, simple as.
@@Fer8aTVcouldn’t agree more. Function over logos all day.
LV is a brand The Middle Class wants to buy to be seen in. It’s tacky
LVMH makes about 50% of their profit of lower or middle class.
It’s people that want to appear to have money, what buy those “luxury” brands the most. Kinda sad tbh.
This. ☝️
The truly wealthy don’t wear this shit.
Cool TJ still got a check
*lower class
It’s as the saying goes:
“People will buy stuff they don’t need, with money they don’t have, to impress people who don’t matter or care”,
“Fashion” brands are incredibly whack.
Get paid I guess dude, but it’s still wack as fuck
This is just such a weird position for Tyshawn to take. Luxury brands are such a waste of money and I just know some young kids out there are now thinking they need a $2000 jacket to go skating in. In my opinion, silly collaborations with luxury brands that have nothing to do with skateboarding are doing far more damage than the Olympics or something. I think Tyshawn needs to take a step back, stop constantly thinking about how he can make a quick buck, and decide what kind of role model he actually wants to be.
Oh, I think he knows exactly what kind of 'role model' he wants to be.
You're fooling yourself if you think this dude is not exactly where he wants to be.
Tyshawn is just modeling the gear. LV isn’t trying to get into skateboarding, Pharrell asked him to do this shit.
@@Desmond1of1 they did "enter" and venture into skateboarding with Lucien Clarke with his shoe Virgil gave him. It had LV all over it. If Virgil was still alive Lucien would probably still have LV on his feet and not DC where he's had a "signature" lynx og zero hybrid with 3 colorways, and upcoming all new shoe.
Relax..
Even you don’t believe that shit 😂
I always thought Louis Vuitton was high end fashion for women
LV don’t give a f*** about us…
neither does any other company, skateboarding or not 😂
I need this channel now. 9 club been having so much content lately I cant catch everything lol
He’s getting SOTY again this year💯🔥🗣️
God I hope not. He already got it one too many times 🥴
@@wolfpecker5710nah he didn’t.
Luxury brands have nothing to do with skateboarding. Sure he can skate but doesn't make him a skater doing shit like that.
There is a difference between someone who skates and someone who is a skateboarder. Ty is the latter… Some sell out… some choose not to… this generation of kids don’t care about their integrity and will happily do wack shit for $$$. What’s the difference between Jamie Foy riding for red bull and wearing Red Bull gear 😂 and this??? Or Prod skating for Target, AT&T, and Monster energy drink. Remember when Appleyard had that Transworld cover and Boost Mobile (poorly) photoshopped their logo on his board 😂.
@@Desmond1of1 red bull and monster are known for being a part of extreme sports.
Sheckler did the same but atleast he was a kid when he made his choices.
@@oldgregg86. extreme sports 😂 Monster and Red Bull aren’t skateboard companies. They’re Fortune 500 companies that wouldn’t give a damn about paying a skateboarder if skateboarding wasn’t popular. If u ride for them u sold out 🤷🏾♂️
@@Desmond1of1 I didn't say they were skateboard companies. They are know for sponsoring extreme sport events, moto x, bmx, skateboarding, wing suit flying. Redbull spend way more on extreme sports and skateboarding events than any other company out there. Love them or hate them but they've helped evolve skateboarding with the money they've put into it.
Tacky
Tyshawn is part of hip hop style and in hip hop deaigner is in its that simple
0:30 DUBS 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That thumbnail😂
i’m pretty sure that LV glider was a fashion week invitation. Virgil would send weird shit like that as an invitation for his LV shows. I vaguely remember the plane for NY Fashion week.
Tyshawn about to rob someone’s soty trophy for a third time 😂😂 dude is wack
Wack as in one of the best skaters of all time yeah. He’s so good that he got SOTY twice
@@claysoggyfries do you really think he deserved the second trophy ? Against nyjah ? You’re delusional. Especially when you think how long nyjah skates professionally and how much of an influence he had through his his life on Skateboarding.
@@robolinoschmidt8676 He deserved it over Nyjah because he's cooler than him
@@robolinoschmidt8676Nyjah puts 2-3 year old videos into his parts, so will never win soty doing that. The award isn’t just about being good in pro competitions. They factor in everything about you. Tyshawn is simply cooler and more street than Nyjah…. 👍
And the people hating on this are hypocrites and should go look up what kind of sponsorship deals their favourite skaters “sold out” for too, not just single out Tyshawn for it cause he elevates and does it at a higher level…
@@9614cpbro they won’t admit it but the hate is cause Ty is black.
I also thought he did it in New York at first, I think we’re just thinking of his magazine cover he had doing the same trick at the New York spot lol
That is Paris
I grew up with a kid who wore low top work boots only to skate flip nose full size picnic tables wild pop . 🎉
Strength training 🥾 😂
LV definetely aren't doing this to tap into the skateboard market, they don't care about skating they care about Tyshawn, they're doing it because they like him and his style and a certain demographic he appeals to which isn't even necessarily skateboard fans.
Steezus said it best "this some culture vulture poseur shit" again like LVs Lucien Clarke shoe .
That's a no from me those luxury brands couldn't give a shit about skateboarding their all about promoting themselves and i bet 99% of skaters could never afford it
Im just hating on this clip because Im jealous. I wish that was me 😢
In Austin this dress store got hot air balloon dresses. Well at least they look alot like hot air ballons
28 large! Thats gotta hurt😂
And he ain’t the first to skate in Timbos. Look up Kyle James. FROM Brooklyn I think. It’s a clip of him from the Ian Reid video skating the banks in Tims. PEPE MARTINEZ used to skate in Tims too…
Comments full of people that wear quicksilver a billabong and shop at zumiez.. who cares if someone likes shit you don’t like y’all always wanna be mad about something and wanna keep everyone at your level
Get yo money Tyshawn love to see it.
never been a better time to sell out as a skateboarder
how is he selling out ?@@i-never-look-at-replies-lol
@@i-never-look-at-replies-lol yah you right. Athletes just like everyone else. Stay mad my guy.
@@Bobbytheman98stay brown my man, from all the 💩 as you have your head up Tyshawns…..
@@i-never-look-at-replies-lol well… skateboarders don’t get paid much… the skate lifestyle is alright when you’re younger but if you don’t have any skills to pay the bills other than skateboarding when you hit your late 20s-30s shit gets real when your skate career is over… I can see why a lot of guys do wack shit for $$$ when they’re hot. It makes sense…
Didn't penny wear some Tim's? I know he did.
it's in Paris !
Jesus you suppose to get your watches insurance so you don’t take an L. It’s only a few hundred to cover a Rolex
Skateboarding has been about supporting the skaters brands. Nike got lucky they got the street culture buying. Snowboarding phased Nike out. No room for Louis Vitton or any luxury brand. This skater breaks both his legs he’s prob not gonna be sponsored by them anymore.
Nike got lucky with P-Rod and Koston. All of skateboarding core went full on hypocritical once those guys signed. They were 100% fuck Nike until those guys got their Nike money, good for them same along with Janoski but if not for those 2 Koston would be still wearing his "fuck Nike" garb in his famous picture still wearing 'es or Lakai.
Ty isn’t sponsored by LV, lol. He’s a model. He’s modeling this collection by Pharrell and P asked him to model.
@@ponmlk it’s about the end consumer. Not skaters.
@@ponmlk $$$$$$ talks
He should of stayed on FA!
Perfectly on brand with his pretentious attitude. When you come from the school of Jason dill, this is what you become.
Jason Dill always seemed like a kook.
Pretentious art house types
This is the type of shit Dill used to do and would have done if he had the opportunity 20 years ago when he lived in NYC. look at the 411 he was in from that time. He was going to fashion week.
Wonder who gets more soty this year or louis new pal lol. I like louis and love❤skateboarding but please understand how disgusting these designer brands or corps😢 culture is
It was hard for the clip but if he’s rockin this all the time in videos then I’m good thank you
🔥
Who cares what he is wearing that shit was BUCK
Funny how skateboarding is all about individuality until someone wears something people don’t like
It's fine to be yourself, but Tyshawn is a role model and some young kids are now thinking they need to drop 10k on a wardrobe to go out skating.
Funny how opinions on a subject are right or wrong or frowned upon based on how someone views and makes comments on, and is subject to even more criticism from those who agree or disagree 😂😂😂 Kinda like this comment.
The point is these brands will never keep supporting him if let's say,he breaks his legs and/or go to jail.
dis mofo said "is it europe or new york?"
INCREDIBLE STUNTS ON ALL LEVELS & PUNS.
...BTW YALL KNOW THE ORIGIN OF WEARING LOW ASS PANTS? LOOK IT UP, IT WILL MAKE YA PULL UP UR PANTS FAST, OR NOT IF YA SWING THAT WAY...
As long as he is comfortable wearing that while skating it really doesn't matter.
This sucks sooo bad😮😢 LV skateboarding 😂😂😂
