A fashion designer that can also produce the music for the show is the ULTIMATE flex!
That's creativity in full display. Pharrel infused his musical prowess the same way Virgil used his graphic design skills.
Except he's not a designer. He's a Creative Director. Not the same thing as someone who actually studied design and tailoring.
It's not a flex because they get the bag and he gets a check. All he did was give the best of us to them... ie: gospel and swag!!!

This is stupid. Im not fond of Pharrell fashion. BBC Ice cream flopped. Bape is racist. His Adidas line was garbage. Then he complains about only bape create camouflage fatigue fashionable when it was cool since before the 90s. Then he's using Xbox Minecraft pixelated camouflage to appear in block form like the green Burberry shirts that came out this year.
Sounds to me like Williams might be suffering from a case of impostor syndrome. I don't feel confident about the brand now, honestly. In each interview I've watched he keeps saying he's pinching himself and that he's always surrounded by the best artisans - of course, because he can't take credit for the foundation of the design or the masterpieces. After a couple of years working there he's still not directing his team like a designer or tailor would do ...he's just choosing pieces offered to him, he likes and placing his final seal of approval on it. His tailors are the ones with the only know-how of the study of a garment. they're the ones doing all of the work and deciding on the tailoring - Williams is simply calling the shots but still has a team of advisors to give him the what's what on the side at the end of the day. I've not heard any designer speaks to his team the way he does. Hemerely goes on to say everything's fantastic and that fashion is a big part of his life, but he can't discuss the art involved like an artisan. He's not inspired by the predecessors of LV. He is a musician. The position is given to celebs because they have status, but no foundation of the arts and classical art and the history of the house.

Glad I bought LV under Nicolas Ghesquière. People that aren't designers still aren't designers, I don't care what 'fashion sense' they may have or how the brand may want to position itself now. People spend years studying design and doing apprentice work for a reason. So long, LV. Next.
