I’m really buzzed about this one! Probably fly on down to get one.
Possibly the best one yet Dan The Man 🤣🤣🤣👊👊👊
@@ToolReviewZone ironically there was no thought to this one. Finished watching the video and then just posted 🤪🤣👊
Dan, You really are The Man!!! 😆👍✌👊😊
My ryobi melted 😂
I will wait for the brushless version 😉
Brushless 40V 😝
B-but where are the brushes in this one? 🤔
Good one hahaha 🤣
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
As a lifelong contractor, I used to HATE Ryobi tools. As a homeowner, the Ryobi ONE System is AMAZING! I own many tools and all perform well. The batteries are excellent.
Yeah they’ve really stepped it up. For work the big dogs have unbeatable warranty service tho but I’m the same, all my tools at home are Ryobi
Yeah I wouldn't use any of this day to day in Work conditions but with the deals that HD often has this is the fastest system I've ever built.
Thank you! Guys at work give me crap for owning Ryobi. I’m like dude, I can’t afford to have all Dewalt tools just to use a few times a year. These are great if you aren’t trying to use them for daily use!
Same. To do work. Milwaukee. At home Ryobi
@@joeydewitt4639honestly the difference is marginal now days. Harbor freight tools are starting to match Milwaukee in warranty and quality is better than it was . Affordable quality is here
This thing is awesome !! We had one fly in our tv room. Set this on the counter at bed time. In the morning, one large dead fly in the tray! We have used it twice in our house to catch a fly and it worked!!
Haha, I have used it for this same thing. I love it 🤣👊👊
One fly? Just take a vacuum cleaner an suck the fly up .
Thank you for the review. I didn't know Ryobi has this bug zapper device. It is cool BUT it is kinda expensive ($99 bucks). I will get one when price come down to around $40 or less. Thank you again. Cheer!
The problem with these bug zappers is they seem to kill just about everything but mosquitoes. Moths, fireflies, bees, shad flies, mayflies and others.
Try putting a bowl of soda water near it. Mosquitoes are attracted to CO2.
Put a dish of your own blood near the unit. (female) mosquitoes love blood.
@@MadLadsAnonymous too add to your point about CO2 - the CDC Light traps use dry ice to attract and catch mosquitos for testing
It's ironic that the power switch has an image of a mosquito... the one bug it doesn't attract and kill. :-)
They do get them, but this is smaller and probably helps keep the moths out. Hell, I remember the big ones back in the day would frtmy birds
Sold!!!! I'm a Fracking mosquito magnet!!! Just got into the Ryobi Lithium battery stuff!!! Love it!! I picked up there Ryobi One 18 Volt starter kit for $99.99 today and got there Whisper fan for free (Going camping tomorrow with no hookups from Thursday to Monday in the old Lance truck camper) Need the fan for night time sleeping. Can't run the Genny at night.
I have one of these and it’s amazing. My kids have outside sports. I take it with me and I put it by my ankles and the zapper gets the mosquitoes. We also take it camping. I love it.
Way too expensive. I already have plenty of the portable ryobi inverters so I can go and spend $15 for a bug zapper and plug it into that and carry it wherever I want so the only thing this really offers is a portable light and a carry handle which doesn't seem too strong - I'll buy this when they have it down to$39.99!
Thanks for the feedback
I would have liked the LED replaced with a fan to draw bugs to their glorious end. Thank you for the review, great as always!
Or instead of replacing the light, maybe add small fans with the lighting?
Next up from Ryobi is their 40v rodent zapper
Dude, your tool reviews kill me every time lol.😂💀 I was already planning on picking one up, but this review sped up the process lol.
Great tip on removing the Red tape inside by the bulb! At 1st try, the bug zapper didn't work; I thought it was faulty until I came across this video. 👍🏼
I love Ryobi tools (have a lawn mower and weed wacker) as well as the non-tools. I don't need this zapper, but I think it's cool. I hope Ryobi keeps innovating like this.
Ditto my situation. Right down to the e-lawnmower. Six batteries powering about eighteen different tools.
My wife bought me a crapload of Ryobi tools when they were on sale and plenty of extra batteries to boot. This will be the next Ryobi item I get. Thanks for the great review and demonstration. 🇺🇸🎸👮🏻♂️
If it doesn't make that loud satisfactory zap sound when exploding worthless bugs I don't want it!
I always appreciate Ryobi coming out with new non tools that are battery powered. I own two hot glue guns and two fans from Ryobi (just to name a few). I was wondering if you could do a review and/or comparison of the 12" brushless whisper chainsaw. It would really be appreciated, thank you.
I am invested in the Ridgid line due to inheriting tools after a dude died when I was starting out. Honestly Ryobi holds up in the trades (know a few that use industrially/used in basement remodels for years) and I would have liked to be invested in that line for the sheer number of products they offer (including concrete mixers!) at inexpensive prices.
I am happy with my Ridgid regardless.
The ryobi chainsaw is nice.
Don't get the battery wet.
Just bought mine thanks to this video didn't know they made this now. Thanks alot cant wait to use it
I’m glad I watched this. I just bought one and the instructions are literally on the end table RIGHT beside me. Instead of opening them up to find out why the zapper light was so dim, ( I am a man you know! ) I watched your video LOL! Card board removed and BINGO, light!
they need a sticker on the outside, remove the packaging stupid.
Mosquitoes are not attracted to ultraviolet (UV) light in the same way as other insects, and UV light traps and bug zappers are not very effective for mosquito control. In fact, some studies have shown that night-biting mosquitoes avoid UV and blue light during the day. However, some UV-LED light traps have been shown to capture nocturnal mosquitoes.
30 hours on the costco unit smaller, usb c recharge seems good fewer leds snaps real good water hose down like $40 for 3
Ok that “green to go” got me! 🤣🤣🤣
I bought one about a year ago. It works! It works as a lantern! It works as a bug ATTRACTOR!!! This brings the bugs from the far reaches. It shocks em and they fall down to the tray. This is where it gets interesting. Open the tray and larger bugs recover from the initial shock and fly off. Don't waste your money. You buy this you better stock up on Cutter or Off insect repellent. Mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide not lights. Sorry I bought this one.
Wow! Didn't know I was pronouncing Ryobi wrong all this time. I thought that since Ryobi corporate pronounces it "Ree-O-Bee" in all of their commercials that was the way to say it. Just kind of figured since it was their product they would know. Thanks for the correction, I'm emailing them now.
That's right... Rye-OH-Bee🤣🤣🤣 tell um they're doing it wrong
I kinda like it ! Seeing I live in the bush and the bugs in the spring and early summer will nearly eat you alive .
Bought one and it's mainly in the house. It does work wonderfully and never knew I had flying critters in the house until I heard the snaps. Glad I had a higher capacity battery so it'll last at least for six hours. My only concern is that it's difficult to turn on again unless I take off the battery and reseat it.
I never had thought of this (duh!) and I will be buying one ASAP to handle my stink bug infestation!
I get your point about having a Ryobi battery even if you use a different tool system but there's no way imma let that thing zap my Makitas.
🤣🤣🤣
I live out of my pickup truck… i have got to get me one of these… and some batteries… and their new inverter/usb c charger thingy
How well does it work on mosquitoes and those little "no-see-ums" that come out in droves in evenings to attack? In my experience ( and in on line reviews), zappers don't work on mosquitoes, just moths , flies and some other flying iinsects.
it's because skeeters are drawn to carbon dioxide as much or more than light.
I am going to check this out! My wife hates flies flying around the house. She will go after them something fierce until she hunts the down and flattens them with the fly swatter. Then she come after me and lets me know I left the door open and allowed them critters in.
All the fellas that use to bash me for my Ryobi tools pre-pandemic and now buying more Ryobi than I do every season.
They simply satisfy that cordless impulse buy itch that other brands don’t.
Anyone that goes camping or tailgating will appreciate this toy as much as the guy working in the garage late at night and getting eaten by skeeters and other biters. I have a lot of house flies for some reason got this to carry around the house to problem areas that might not have a convenient outlet to plug an AC unit into. Haven't caught any bugs yet but I have faith and the lantern feature is also useful. hopefully if you contact ryobi they'll send you a new handle or heck you could make your own from a strip of leather use the original as a template.
His homemade leather strap would be much stronger than the original handle.
Thats cool. I might have to get one and spray paint it red
Gonna be a perfect addition for vanlife weekends.
Yeah buddy
I agree with someone in the comments. I need it for mosquitoes. I dont care about the other bugs and these zappers don't really attract mosquitoes.
I bought a bug light years ago for camping. It's my favorite piece of gear I have. I don't know why.
First time here and I plan to stay awhile. Great review, kept me engaged and I chuckled through out it. :)
That's awesome brother. Welcome to the channel Mike
Damn you are right. I did not know I needed this. Now I must wait till a sale and get one maybe 2.
I think it's a great idea by Ryobi and I could use one indoors safely since I live in the northern woods with all kinds of flying nasties, even inside. Thanks for sharing and I just ordered one.
It's true. I really prefer a single battery system but I had holes in my tools because I didn't want to overpay or it was not available with Milwaukee. I invested in Ryobi 4v USB just for the price difference and honestly it is equivalent if not better than the Milwaukee USB. Then Ryobi has stuff like this. Awesome so now I will have two tool systems for now lol😂
You're hilarious dude. Keep it up. When you look around online, people say they don't actually work on mosquitos.. Perhaps ryobi did something different? Did you find any mosquitos in the catcher, or just flys?
I didn't have many mosquitoes , but it has been super dry in my area this year 🤔
Did he say it actually worked?
As a Makita gnome, the faulty strap was good intel. Should any Ryobians wander into my gnominion in the dark, I know their weakness. Tee Hee
You are just so pesky 😪
I'm surprised the leds are the correct uv color to attract bugs real Nass like that is works so well
most electric zappers the bulbs stop producing UV after a few months, if these LED's can produce the proper frequency for long use then that's likely part of the reason for the price, my plug in zapper the lamps must be replaced every four months.
I can't believe that I'm saying this but that's pretty cool, too bad it's too expensive. It needs to be half that price then I'd pick one up. I don't know what's going on with Ryobi, not Reeobi, but they have been pricing themselves right out of my market lately.
I want to get one. But I'm not willing to drive 3 hours to the closest store taht has one. I love this idea though because if it is battery powered, then the power consumption is low enought that I can DIY a solution to add solar power supplementation so this can just run remotely non-stop. I think i'll 3d print something so I can add some cheap batteries and make it able to run all night too.
Liked your review. Complete and informative. Great job.
Purchase through you links the glue gun and now this for my adult daughter for Christmas. Thanks!
Awesome!!!
Mine did not have the sticker inside.. BUT I did not see the side sticker and this video kept me from the embarrassment at Home Depot heheh
Good review. Get an old leather belt and replace the handle.
Freaking genius 👏 🙌
That’s real nice like! I’m going to pick one up and for the fam!
Mosquitoes are not inherently attracted to UV lights, unless you use a scented octenol lure, bug zapper in general are just going to be catching a whole bunch of other "good" bugs and lots of moths lol, you're better off with a Thermacell
Nice job on this one too. I would try this for sure. I have a couple of batteries that I should put to good use instead of just sitting around anyway. I really don't like the color at all but if it attracts and kills the little flyin' vampires, then I'm all for it, lol.
Right hea i love it 😂 grear review by the way
works great. I used in my backyard did not get one bite
This would be useful in my wifes garden for the Evil Nats and Flys that are killing her plants
The zapper stopped working after about 30 mins. I also read reviews that said it was only "knocking out" bugs and not killing them, I thought how can you tell if a bug is knocked out? Well when I took it back I opened the tray to clean it and it was full of bugs....alive. save your money
Yep your right I want one.
They should issue a recall on the strap
Ohhh helllll yeaaaa!! Get r done!!! Love the humor tool review! 👍
Home Depot video ad from Ryobi says Ri yo bi, so I’m gonna stick to it, not ra yo bi or whatever you said, good video!
...glad I found you...the instructions in the box suck..out loud
I may have to make my first tool thing from them. !
Great Video Clint, We just received our Version here in Australia and it looks like they have added a couple of features with our one. Video is up on our channel if you wanted to check it out. Cheers
Apparently by this video people were trying to use this without removing the cardboard or the stickers 😂
That is cool. That was nice of Vince to tell you about it 🤣
Vance is still trying to figure out how to hang it
@@ToolReviewZone 😂😂😂
I’ve got one and its awesome. I just wish it was a high bred.
Oh yeah that's my first time seeing the tool I'm going to go and buy one lol
Thanks, buddy. Time to go to the HD.
Let me know what you think Larry 👊
@@ToolReviewZone Once my local store gets them in stock, I will. Thanks again for letting us know about this.
I like it but think their price point is waaaaaay off the mark.
Nice entry, but we all know there's no bugs in the woods around Philadelphia. 😃🤣
This thing is Real Nass Like. This is why I own a couple Ryobi batteries.
Thank you for this! I just got mine and didn't remove the sticker and thought it was broken! 😁
I have thousands of dollars of Ryobi stuff. - I'm not sure I'll spend another dime with them.
Recently I purchased a crosscut whipser mower. Loved every moment of it. Unfortunately, it broke within weeks of having it. some type of controller electrical issue (manufacturing defect.)
Because it was outside of the Home Depot warranty period, I had to get Ryobi involved. This means that TTI is involved not so much Ryobi because Ryobi will say "sorry, once TTI the RLC has it, its up to them" ---- That is problem number one by the way.
It spent one month at Home Depot and they figured they couldn't fix it. It then spent 6 days short of 90 days at the RCL with parts that were back ordered not to show up until March which would be 5 months after the RCL got the mower and 6 months since I sent it to Home Depot for repair.
I spent days arguing with TTI. This was absolutely abhorrent. Ryobi was hands off, said they can't do anything about it. After battling for days, finally getting Home Depot to share some data, it forced TTI to recognize they will be outside their 90 day window. They are sending a new mower.
Long and short: The brand new lawn mower failed. It took 3 months to get answers and if I didn't push would have been over 5 months. Ryobi themselves couldn't care less what their repair side was doing.
Because of this, as my Ryobi eqt. fails, I will be switching to something else. I will never again spend a dime on Ryobi stuff.
Cheap tools, breaking tools and customer service that couldnt care less, repair houes that couldnt care less.... this is a common "death rattle" of a company. If this place isn't turned around soon, Ryobi will be the new Harbor Freight of tools and they'll slowly be gone.
Thanks, this is the exact place to complain about your bad experience about a product that has nothing to do with this video.
I’d like to have a couple of these, but not for $99. That’s not very Nass like. I’ll probably wait for a year or so until direct tools sells them for a Very Nass Like $39 or so.
$99. Incredible. It is like that Bosch four way laser level I saw at Lowes for fucking $2(3?)99 bucks. Or these Bluetoothed radios going for $89,$99,$199 bucks... it's a fucking radio! I got my Ridgid for $49 with aux cord and NO Bluethooth (paranoia saves lives), and it has survived 5 years in the field. Sad hard to find, always get spares of what you like and works.
...just bought one tonight...
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-obi. Okay. I feel better now.
🤣NEEEEVVVVVEEEEERRRRR!!!
@@ToolReviewZone , LOL!
Nice review, I’m getting a couple of them!
Is there anything Ryobi won't make? Soon they will be making kitchen appliances.
I'd buy a hand mixer that used their 18V lol who do I suggest to?
What about those of us who use 40v batteries only… they need to make the 18v stuff compatible with the the 40v batteries as well
That wouldn’t make sense. It’s 2 different platforms. You’re better off buying some 18 batteries.
They'll have the 40 volt version out in 6 months with added upgrades after we buy the 18 volt version that's the way it works lol
How well will it work for them pesky maskita, we have a creek running out back and it’s a maskita breeding ground, we don’t have a big fly issue but the maskita is the main issue.
Smeeesh that like button 👀👉🏼 👍🏽 cause it’s real nasss like.
The Makitas are extremely hard to catch brother. I thought I caught the Gnome one night, but he just kept zapping himself for fun. He is very pesky indeed 😪 also, thanks for the SMEEESH Jason!!!
Looks like you were smashing to handle
Had to subscribe!
I got an adapter to use M18 batteries with the Ryobi hot glue gun. I bet that would work for this too...
I am going to get one when they become available
Bother man Ron 👊👊👊
Now if Milwaukee or Makita were to make something like this then I would buy it.
Ryobi is decent but cant hokd a candle to Milwaukee and Makita for quality.
That’s real Nass like 👍👊🏻😎
In my workshop, I have Mostly Ryobi Tools.
Same here.
I'd guess I have around a dozen Ryobi tools, give or take a tool or two.
You for president
Haha, I accept your nomination, but ima need a Vice 👊
Cam you a provide a production on how to care for 18V and 40v batteries, some of mine did not last longer than year. What do we need to do so not wear them out?
I gotta do two things? I don't know... . I think I gotta go get one of these.
Very nice and handy "non tool". For those individuals who want a way to "plug it in" find a dead Ryobi battery, gut it, add a switching DC power supply that can provide 18 volts DC at 5 amps and install it in the battery shell takin care of polarity. This recommendation is not for the ignorant hobbyist but for those who have the necessary skills to work with line voltage equipment. Oh and use of such adapters WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
You have to be careful you might have Peta coming after you now for killing that fly. Lmao
Hahaha, they are tough for sure 😅 🤣
I want one but I'm not liking the short term battery life. If I'm entertaining a party outside on the deck, I don't wanna have to worry about having to change the battery 🪫 while I'm drunk.
if you're outside longer than six hours that's a helluva party just get a six hour battery.
Sally throws some Hellacious parties though. They usually far surpass the 6-hour mark. I once dropped in for a Friday night bash and I found out it had been going on since the previous Friday.
These end up killing a bunch of good bugs along with the mosquitos. Just get a thermacell if you want mosquitos to go away.
I like it time to go to H.D.
3:24 I was expecting the makita Gnome to grab ya...
hopefully someone can show a video of how to clean this thing after it's gotten filthy from killing hundreds of bugs in a night. do they stick to the UV bulb? this is the main reason that the other electric Solutions fail early because the insides get filthy in the system overheats.
I would feel safe using CRC or some similar electronics cleaner to clean the gunk out of it. I didn't look too close when it was apart but the bulb appears socketed wonder what the lifespan is/should be.
I thought it was Rye-Obi until the guy from "Ree-Obi" customer care pronounced it that way but I prefer the say it how it's spelled.
"Ryobi"
I want to run this bug killer 16 hours a day for a multi-day camp don't have all the batteries to do this so want to run a generator and use the AC power off of that.
Is it rainproof? That'd be..
Real nass like 😎
I would pit it by any pools if you know what I mean 😐
