oh, yeah. the 1848 revolutions. How many of them succeed anyways? I know the one in Vienna failed also the Hungarian Revolution was crushed by the Russian intervention (We would have won that if not for the 300,000 troops that they sent against us.)
@@lionhartjohn1000 I believe none of them were truly successful. Some countries secured limited gains with ease, others took a few decades to make progress. Overall there wasn't a huge amount of immediate reforms taking place. It seems like it was the psychological shifts taking place that wete most important. But I'm no historian so big grains of salt on my answer.

@Black Laser If that was the case, Africa wouldn't be riddled with genocides and civil wars. Despite what most Americans think, it is the people that make up the nation. France is the nation of the French, Sweden is the nation of the Swedes, Poland is the nation of the Poles. With the birth of the idea of Nationalism, the ability to found a nation on lines that are not ethnic or cultural has largely died.
On the other hand then you have countries that expand like Russia...lol
