      @thechangeofyes8179 yes, but not for opera. Opera singers train in a very specific way and have a very recognizable timbre and resonance to their voice (squillo) that takes years to develop and enables them to project in theaters without a mic. Phelps has an amazing voice and surely has a rounder sound, closer to opera than other pop singers but he didn't train for opera so he can't sing opera. If he did he would make a great opera singer, but he didn't and that's fine.

    • @aimanisahac
      @aimanisahac 3 года назад +2

      Back in early 2000s, he went to the doctor and discovered something. Most of the tenors has a rectangular shape larynx. Straight from the front to the back with little space in between. But Davids is different. He's doctor said he has a triangular vocal box. Wide in the front (Baritone), and thin in the back (tenor). That's why he's able to sing in the 2nd octaves all the way up to the 5th octave.

      everyone who can sing a D5 (and can generally support) can do that. Breath support has nothing to do with the pitch. Breath support is done by the abdominal muscles that control diaphragm contraction, the pitch is added by your vocal cords. So you support with your torso, and add a pitch in your throat. The moment the air reaches your throat and receives a pitch, it alsready is either supported or not.

      Resonance is optimal singing quality .
      It's when you have full breath support . No tension . An open throat / relaxed larynx and raised soft palate along with vowel modifications and shaping of mouth to achieve additional resonance .
      So the sound is full and round yet effortless...
      Good example is Lara Fabian

    • @Gameworks1407
      @Gameworks1407 6 лет назад +4

      JaeHyun you can be tense and resonate. You just can't be overly tense

    • @Gameworks1407
      @Gameworks1407 6 лет назад +5

      Amore Arusko the throat can be tensed and clenched up proven by medicine. Resonance isn't a sound it's a formant. Therefore to have the most resonance you need to sing on open vowels like Ahh where the formants the loudest. The larynx hightens by belting but not as much as you presume, too high of a larynx is bad and muffles sound, not allowing the formant to shine. The higher formants produce twang or squillo which is a brilliant, bright sound, that if left unchecked causes the sound to be strident, shrill, screamy and thin. Countering with darkening techniques such as a raised palet give it more power and allows it to float more easily. This is the base of the chiaroscuro technique. All of this has been proven by science

    • @Gameworks1407
      @Gameworks1407 6 лет назад +5

      Amore Arusko but again you'd rather believe hack jobs than a technique that has allowed people to sing over orchestras with 50 or even 100 instruments without a mic.

    • @joanquintero4670
      @joanquintero4670 5 лет назад +13

      Nop, the support of dimash only goes up to f#4, cause he tends to lower his larynx too much, locking the proper support, and I think he can't resonance at all... Well if we focused on the belt, cause if we talk about head voice is the opposite, his head voice is almost perfect, he can support up to bb5, being that for men really high, that's even above of the range of most of tenors, and his top not on head voice is e5, well at least of what I know...

    • @belindamelissa8801
      @belindamelissa8801 5 лет назад +9

      @@joanquintero4670 Lowering the larynx is a technqiue of classical music with which you maximize the resonance (David Phelps does the same, but Dimash is doing it more extensively (in his belts til around D#5) , because he uses a real bel canto technique and David Phelps mixes bel canto with pop singing). And he supports all of his range. He is praised by every single expert for his perfect breath support and great resonance. Btw, EVERY sound is resonant. Educate yourself a little. The technical approach concerning resonance is how efficiently you create it. And Dimash is a master in this.

    • @joanquintero4670
      @joanquintero4670 5 лет назад +8

      @@belindamelissa8801 lowering the larynx doesn't amplify the resonance, maximize the volume, and nowadays it doesn't make any sense doing that(at least not so aggressively as dimash does) cause the presence of microphones, that's their work, and no, don't compare the perfect mix voice of David Phelps, he is way better than dimash in mix voice... Pfffff, if you're talking as siense yes, every sound is resonant, but we're on singing, the resonance is the technique that singers use to amplify their volume and have a better quality on their tone, it is produce by a proper fully support and lifting the soft palate of the vocal cavity, and besides that the singer must have an open throat, not mouth, is the throat, those are things that dimash don't do, and he doesn't even support fully on his belt top high, even for men. And if you take the thing of that every sound is resonant from that vocal coach that doesn't even use a keyboard to verify the notes, and is like the one that has more subscribers.... I recommend you to follow people who knows best, and with experience on the vocal coaching.

      @@joanquintero4670 you have noooo idea what you are talking about. You can either follow a classical or a contemporary approach for belting.
      The classical approach includes a lowered larynx, an open throat (you don't have an open throat in pop singing) and a dark timbre. This is what Dimash does in his belts til appr. D5, and then for E#5 til B5 he switches to a contemporary approach, and doesn't do any of it

And also yeah it's not because there's a lot of Filipino that good in singing it doesn't mean we have the techniques we can just carry a tune that's ALL btw same here. it's just annoying that my fellow Filipino always find way to be number 1 (in singing) I mean they're too obsessed with it
