Heard this in the last hour of my first visit to the 100 Club in February 2020....found myself running to the floor.....that intro is just sublime......and yes...there is a message in there...we should all heed.... Northern Soul...better than the Bible for life lessons... :)
I discovered northern soul in the early 80s and did the soul all-nighters ,100 club etc , 40 years later heard this track for the first time and it’s like I’m goose bumps from the early days all over again , why did I sell all that vinyl …, guess once your hooked your hooked
Brilliant record....it has everything and an important lesson in life we tend to ignore.."Lets talk it over".....how often we just wish we had.....instead of reacting with aggressive behaviour and verbal abuse.....regrets....yeah many Dave from York
Yate soul night nights, a big tune played from 1979, as i remember.. ktf to all Southern Soulers. And of course those up North... God bless SOUL.. KTF.
To add to what I said a moment ago went to Yate south Gloucestershire late 70's traveling from Nottingham on the so called calapsible camm's coaches broke down on the way back to palais Nottingham on a Sunday all-dayer great memories thanks for the share kev ✊🏻✊✊🏻✊✊🏻

Hi Neil & Pete what a MEGA SOUL SOUND I remember this jewel in the crown at winter garden's Cleethorpes in the late 70's a super duper soul club never to be forgotten bless you gentlemen 🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎹
Remember the first time this was played at the Casino ( pretty certain it was Soul Sam) I came out in the morning raving about it and no one knew what i was on about, managed to get a copy before it went big for £20, then it took off, Still brilliant, sad thing is, i don't have it no more.
this was a cleethorpes record way before the casino. arthur fenn and dave raistrick and prob poke championed it about 77/78 although i think it was a pier record before then. i fuckking hated it back then, but i've grown to love it over the yrs. it's quite mesmerising really. just hope levine sdont get hold of him and do some crappy cover like he normally does!!!
I stand to be corrected but I believe that this was actually first played at Yate, I am sure that Time Brown credits one of the Yate dj's with this in his book?
Pretty sure Poke first played it onthepier causr I got it from the SB the day before. But I reckon Nev Wherry pushed it before Dave Raistrick gave it to Arthur but who cares. They all did blinding jobs with it.
UPDATE: proud to be the owner of the last orignal copy 45 of this song here in the usa !
This is one of my top 500 northern soul records quality 👌

Don’t over do it - the bible is king - most singers from the church
I did the same when I first heard it in '76, then bought it
