To the man that wrote this and sang this tune,i really dont think you know how much this tune means to so many Northern soulies. This tune still fills the dance floors. Thank you both so much. Keep on,keeping on!!!!!
I love this track. My uncle Dave wrote it.

Good try Douglas .....
Our vocalist was John Ritson Doug. I only wrote the song.
Richard Searling found 3 demo`s of this in the back of a recording studio in Manchester for 20p , sometime in the early 70`s ... And so a British rarity was born ......
Such a big record in the 70's. Sounded great in Wigan Casino all-nighters💫
Takes me back to Station Road at the end of the 70's when the Casino was in full swing. Great days, great music, great people.
Got a real soulful feel when dancing - I could float away.

What a classic example of northern soul, tune, sounds like the 100 club in the 1980s :-)
REALLY???? I can't say I remember EVER hearing this there - very big at the Unicorn in Leighton Buzzard though.
Mate, thank Roy Harrison , Den Mac, at the Olde E, Matlock for reviving this back in 79, ie ore 100Club, (which we all went to when it reopened, btw).
I LOVE THIS SONG ! Takes me back to the 80's mod rallies, best days ever !!!

Outstanding UK soul Dave Mcgerty
Thanks mate !!
Perfect Northern soul classic Great tune heartbreak lyrics
Ritson sounds a lot like Len Barry who was one of the Dovells (from Philadelphia) before he went solo and had a string of blue-eyed soul hits.
This recording in fact IMO has that Philly Soul feel to it. Probably sounds as much at home at the New Jersey Shore (Atlantic City, Ocean City, Wildwood etc.) as at the Casino. Where was it recorded?
We recorded it at Olympic studios, London John Laszek. We played 123 by Len Barry in our live set list !!
Wigan monster late seventies 😄
