Heidi! I have to share with you about green tea. I used to have to use multiple lumps of sugar in order to consume any variety of tea. I had the opportunity to visit Japan and taste the real stuff and it tastes so much better than the green tea I had tasted in the United States. One thing I learned from that experience is that in the United States we are often not very aware of what temperature water we are using for our different tea products. Green tea is one that does not taste good and becomes extremely bitter if the water is too hot. For taste, my favorite green tea from the US is actually the Kirkland brand from Costco if you can believe that. I have one or two cups every day with no added sugar and it tastes wonderful. Incredible anti aging benefits when consuming green tea regularly which was what originally motivated me to try to like it. I do think even when prepared properly green tea is an acquired taste but I would encourage you to try it again (maybe several times until you decide you like it!) at a lower water temp and see if that makes a difference for you in enjoying it. Or maybe you have been doing it right all along and green tea just isn't for you. Thanks for another great video!
I just do not like ANY true tea that comes from the Camellia Sinensis or even the Camellia Japonica. So that means black, white, oolong or green. It is also why I am not a kombucha person
What temperature water are you supposed to use? I am not big on green tea, but like black tea or even oolong. It is hard to find organic tea that not very expensive.
Note: I have bone on bone in both knees, and a torn meniscus. I was recommended surgery and knee replacements. I walked w/a cane. Now I am cane free through the use of a capsula day of flax seed oil, along w/ nettle as a seasoning. Also, for pain and healing, calendula is among the best for rapid repair. You are correct about compression and ice, as they reduce blood and lymph flow. You need both to heal anything. I love your channel. You are so good to watch & good at your research. Talking about heat packs - my mom used to have a small pillow that was my grandmother’s. My grandmother had made a small pillow case using heavy pillow ticking and took it to the beach and filled it with sand, then stitched it closed. When needing to apply a heat pack she would toss it onto the oven rack(I can still see some burnt marks on it in my mind) and the sand would get hot quickly. She’d wrap it in a towel as to not get burned. Then lay it over the affected area. The sand holds the heat and the bag/pillow molds to the part of the body (my knee) better than any heating pad. Towel can be removed when your skin can handle the heat. Funny how old types of home healing is coming back into fashion these days!

@@RainCountryHomestead I have been thinking of growing valerian for a while, but don't have any on hand...I was sitting here thinking of getting some from Amazon until I can get some set up in the garden. Thanks for the reply girl, I truly appreciate it.~G
I bought valerian from Frontier before I started growing my own but it is the root, which is much more powerful, I use that in my muscle relaxer and deep sleep blend
I have been growing mullein for quite a while, and have used it for ear aches. I went out and harvested jewelweed seeds and planted them by my goldfish pond. They grew like crazy, now I make my own poison salve. I also have been experimenting with the toothache plant.
Thank you! I am going to print your list and see what I have or can get. I’ve had shoulder joint pain for years. I was told to get cortisone injections from a couple orthopedic surgeons. I don’t want to go that route. I do take turmeric capsules every night and and use epsom salts in the bath. I just started comfrey in the greenhouse and am praying that it grows well for me. Many Blessings!
It does like a lot of water but other than that, I think it should do good. Even here in our cooler climate, it does great outside, but of course we get a lot of rain that makes it happy! haha

Miss Heidi, you are so amazing....your research is amazing.... you go above and beyond in your research. When there's an herb I'm researching, I come to you channel, see if you've researched and it cuts hours off my own research. My mother was complaining that her joints hurt and I've given her things like magnesium but I wanted a few herbs to have her drink or eat... horse tail and catsclaw are both I give her... but you've mentioned a few I didn't know about... beautiful WORK!!!! God bless you!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you so much for doing all this research on natural remedies. Yes I have knee pain and look forward to finding out what is going on with my knee. Love your channel ❤
All knee pain is different. I have a crooked knee and had pain in both knees. Last summer it hurt to walk. Idk why the pain was in both knees. Then I saw a video on how to cure knee pain from Dr. Berg. I tried the exercises and over night the pain was gone. I still have pain from my crooked knee but the pain that's gone was in a different place. Video said to push hard from upper thigh to knee on the right side and the pain in the opposite knee will go away. I did and it worked! Check out his videos, they may help!
Heidi, I sure enjoy all of your video's! I just love when you put it back on us to do your research! and your always a wealth of information. Thank you so much for all your hard work for all of us. Great helpful video, Heidi!! Thanks so much for all the work you do on these informative videos. Dealing with a possible rotater cuff issue right now as well as a bum knee. I'll be watching this again and taking notes for sure as well as using these suggestions. Thanks again, praying the Lord blesses you abundantly and heals your knee also. 🤗
Yes, I heard about that whipping with stinging nettle, as well as bee stings to the affected area. It would make me swell and burn for at least 2 days!!! I will stick to honey😊 and eat my nettles, or make tea. I just put a bunch with a few other "no taste" greens and made spinach, tastes just like spinach!
Hello Heidi, thankyou 😊 for the video going to try some of those remedies, i. Love to use the warm wheat bags with lavender also..I shall use rice im mine from now on,,someday s I feel desperate to try something different, I do have lots arthritis, and othrr, fibromyalgia, my feet have arthritis which never rests ,I have always loved out doors, had 5 children all grown up now and walked everywhere with them and our now gone to rest dog,but after 40y and im now 63, I got pneumonia bad then a lot of lump c a me up in my neck didn't go,turned out to be non hodgkins lymphoma I had cancer at 40 and 6 months of harsh chemotherapy, 12 lots phew, lost all my hair (it did come back 😅 ),I got through amazingly with lots of prayers and not so nice chemotherapy, great doctors, but it really affected my feet and hands then elsewhere and carried on doing everything as usual, but when it was all done I started being different and lots pain all the 5hings stuck with now,,I am very very grateful and blessed to still be here and no cancer 🙏, so those harsh ness did work,,but I'm sure now as time moves on there are newer less harsh remedies.well I do love keeping my chickens and growing some herbs, knitting and sewing has to be when my hands don't mind it,,thankyou for all the herbal information 😊 will share with my daughter 😊 take care, God bless you.
Hi Heidi 👋🏻 When you remove the the jell flesh inside, put it in a bowl with filtered water, give it a little swish & take it out. 😇 No more bitter, it will also become more clear. Ready to blend with lemon & drink. Store the un-used flesh in the fridge for a few days. Great information video, like always 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Since I listed off a great many herbs and foods in this video, it would be helpful to everyone if you were more specific. I am assuming you mean pomegranate since that was in the thumbnail but am not certain
The reason you should slice it(ALOE) off at the bottom and let it sit in water overnight is to remove the latex like yellow liquid that is toxic to people with latex allergies. You can see the yellow drain right out. Something I only learned a few years ago. I obviously do not have reactions to that but will continue to drain it that way.
Yes, God is good all the time! Thanks for doing this video and you chose to have CC! I hear weird - what I hear and what you say sometimes aren't even in the same ballpark. I have some of that DMSO but I'm afraid to use it. I only found a source that suggested it for dogs. Most sources only talk about the dangers. I'm sure there are better sites out there, I just haven't found one yet. I'm also very grateful for the transcript! Woohoo ‼️ What a help. I just found you recently so I haven't seen all your videos yet. Thanks again! ❤️🥰
Yes, I have all my videos enabled for CC though for some weird reason there are videos that youtube prevents this and I have no idea why, very frustrating
@@RainCountryHomestead yes it is very frustrating for those of us with hearing problems. I'm going to look for your video on the DMSO. I would like to use it. Thanks again! 👍🏼🙏🏼
I'm so excited to read about Heidi using DMSO! Here in New Zealand it isn't all that common or known. However, I heard a brilliant podcast interview with a member of a family in the US that used DMSO to help heal their mother who was dying of that disease we have been beaten over the head with the last few years. They put all the supplements into the DMSO and sneaked it into the hospital to massage on her body (she was comatose) and instead of dying as the Drs expected, she recovered. I've been thinking that having some DMSO on hand to be able to administer nutrients to a sick person who cannot take anything orally would be a really good idea. Yah's blessings and love to you!
I have a cat's claw tincture almost ready! We use it to combat sickness, it's my go-to for anything flu-like. I didn't know it helped with joints, that's fantastic! My sister tells me that it grows wild not far from us, so I'll have to look for it at some point :)
Excellent talk. After an injury to my left sacral joint, I noticed my knee was popping alot and then the kneecap started getting loose. Now it pops off with a bang and loudly and then hurts for over a week. I researched the issue and found the Iliotibial Band is pulling the kneecap toward the outside of my leg and misaligning the kneecap. Supposedly the issue starts with weakened hip/butt muscles and is called dormant butt syndrome. I am wearing a brace with the circular kneecap opening and it is helping quite a bit. To do stretches of the Iliotibial Band takes time and devotion (short on both so living up to Dormant (Lazy) Butt name) so I am just dealing with it. I recall there was a product called Blue Stuff that had Emu oil in it that I might try to find again. That might not be natural but unless I get serious and do the stretches regularly I will have to resort to it. It doesn't help that I drive a manual transmission vehicle (it's my left knee). I will try some of your suggestions asap.
Going to a Chiropractor has helped my back pain level alot .. I've sometimes have had my knees and ankles adjusted also. Magnesium flakes hot bath soaks or foot soak . Really help the pain , I was shocked .
Been studying African herbalism & they swear Cats Club (not claw) works phenomenal for arthritis & everything. Btw.... I bought some organic Mullien leaves from Anthony's.... They are really offering more & more things... So happy with them & I know you are too.
They have mullein leave now? I looked before and could not find any so I bought them from Frontier Co OP. Or maybe I simply got a better price from Frontier, I do not remember now. Usually Anthony's has the best price but not always. I got a one pound bag and as I expected, it is huge because of the fluffiness of the leaves, haha
Lots of great items here. Thanks. However I would add that a warning should be given about poke berries which are quite poisonous even to skin touch. That should have been mentioned in any reference to it.
Thanks for explaining that I am looking for something that goes deeper in the skin for my nerve pain. Other things that I have tried only seem to help surface and not deep enough. So I will look into that product.
Thank you so much for this. I too have arthritis. And am currently giving Moringa a try. Some have really good results with that. I did not know you could get frankincense in it’s firm of resin. I am going to check that out. As well as the poke berries. Growing up in TN, I have always known about the poke plant as a food. But raised with the belief of it being toxic if not prepared correctly. And we were told to never eat the berries die to them being poisonous. So. Maybe that is not entirely true. I do know that poke berries has been used for dye, stain, paint.
One thought...I've used Solomon's Seal tincture, taken in tea, as a therapy for my arthritic knee, and it's worked very well with no side effects that I can see. You might give it a look.
Whipping yourself with stinging nettle for muscle and joint pain or arthritis works wonderfully. Definitely hard to do in the winter when it's not growing but in the spring and summer when it's around yes I have used it and it works great

Hello, I forgot to mention a very important bit of when I had chemotherapy, I ate a whole pineapple 🍍 daily for 6months,and kiwi on bi t of live yogurt, also drank loads of green tea,I'm surprised i didn't turn green and into a pineapple 😅 🙃. I had read it in a book to eat certain thing along side haveing chemotherapy, I had half juice d and the other in chunk s,I always took a jar chopped ready to eat in the car on my way home from oncology,,..Well thankyou so much for ll thr good information, see you next time, x
I also tried it once for a mild sprain on my wrist. It only helped relieve the pain by turning my mind to the sting instead. So really I only traded one pain for another! haha
Its interesting that you mentioned stinging nettle for pain.. I swear.. years ago where I lived, the property was covered in stinging nettle and I was always getting stung. I told someone even way back then that after it stops hurting, it feels good! Same with bee stings. The nettle even more so I feel. I need to grow me a little patch of it somewhere. I'm dealing with a brand new place and land.. and it does have some lovely native plants already like Mugwort and raspberry and blackberry plants. I'm very curious about poke. I've heard people talk about it in videos and say it's not poisonous and then if you look it up... it says poisonous. I need to find someone who has experience with this plant because if it actually helps arthritis... I need to learn to use it.
A half tsp of nutritional yeast kills my knee pain. Taking it by spoon makes it stick to the roof of my mouth so I just sprinkle it onto most of my meals. It tastes cheesy and yeasty. My knees have been hurting sometimes since I've been in my forties. Not sure if it's healing them. Might have to take collagen supplement to help with that issue. Think that's what Old Alabama Gardener credited with helping him to be able to garden until he died.
I'd heard about the stinging nettle on arthritic hands also...also heard they would have bees sting arthritic joints, but don't know if that's true or not.
I got my knee replaced just under 15 weeks ago and I barely use ice anymore because it actually Stiffens my knee up and makes it hurt worse! The heat feels so good on it but I try not to overdo it.
Watching your awesome video I am alway reminded of the three Sally Fallon books I have. Have NOT watched all your videos again for a long time but am curious if you have read or own them. Thanks.
Great info; thanks for sharing! I use a cream called Motion Medicine, recommended by my chiropractor & I buy from him. It has healing properties as well as soothing.
Would always like to mention when discussing DMSO … it will pull just about everything into the skin and even bloodstream … never handle toxins nor chemicals when you have DMSO on your hands/skin! Great stuff but must be carefully and truly respected as the great carrier it is.
@@michellejugao4091 I am sorry but that is incorrect. The mint family is Lamiaceae which dead nettle is in but stinging nettle is in the Urticaceae family so they are not related
Mullien is an extremely good tasting, mild tea. I drink it straight, no sweetener or anything. I’ll use the oximeter the next day after drinking Mullen tea and it reads 97 to 99… no deep breath‘s to cause that
Yes, it is nice, I just tend to like stronger flavors so I enjoy adding the flavor as well as the benefits from things such as cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, dried orange peel, star anise, or peppermint from the garden. I constantly switch it up. One I did recently was lemon balm with ginger and used either mullein or comfrey in that one
This is what I have, it is not labeled as organic but I believe it to be pure and just because something is not labeled as organic does not mean it is not just like organic labeling does not always mean it is: amzn.to/3DDeKOP
Aloe Vera Organic Juice can be found a near any health food store for oral consumption. I found it to reduce pain a lot. The organic gel is for topically/never tried and not the least bit bitter I have found

Something that helped my ligaments/tendons was Gelatin as it contains the same amino acids as our tendons and ligaments. I would say that it helped the most although it takes time. Organic is likely the best - I trust that you not mind me helping out some?
That is what I asked at the end of the video so of course, however, gelatin is one of the many things I mentioned. I even linked to at the grass fed beef one that I use in the description box
That is comfrey, which I mentioned in the video. As long as it is used in moderation, it is great. All foods and herbs can be toxic if one does not listen to their bodies and practice moderation
Do you swallow the frankincense after you chew on it for a while, or do you spit it out? I just got a bag, based on your dental video! :) Thanks for another great, helpful video! 🥰

but I also have a list of many other herbs and more for pain: ruclips.net/video/V5JOC-b74gs/видео.html

I wish I had this info 8 weeks ago!!! Thank you so much!!!
Collagen did wonders for healing my MCL
I have been growing mullein for quite a while, and have used it for ear aches. I went out and harvested jewelweed seeds and planted them by my goldfish pond. They grew like crazy, now I make my own poison salve. I also have been experimenting with the toothache plant.
Hi Heidi, God is good all the time. Amen.❤❤
Fantastic information. Thank you.😊
You are amazing ❤
Your videos are so full of knowledge! I love the way you teach not everybody has the gift you do though.
I like radishes since they have plethora of benefits, including vitamin C and copper for making collagen.
Even here in our cooler climate, it does great outside, but of course we get a lot of rain that makes it happy! haha
@@RainCountryHomestead I bought 4 little pieces and so far they are all growing. I was able to winter over a large calendula plant from the seed that I got from you and it still has blooms.
God bless you!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Cat's Claw was a new one to me so I am glad to see you mentioned that

I watch him every day, great advice.

Solomon’s Seal tincture works wonders on knees. Topical and internal.

I think they're talking about aloe
@@sarahp2400 O yes, of course.
Thank You 🧚♀️🦋😘😘😘😘😘😘😘🦋
Yes, God is good all the time!
Thanks heidi,you angel!
I have a cat's claw tincture almost ready! We use it to combat sickness, it's my go-to for anything flu-like. I didn't know it helped with joints, that's fantastic! My sister tells me that it grows wild not far from us, so I'll have to look for it at some point :)
Thank you
I'm going to try some of the things you mentioned for my knees and hips... Thank You Mrs Heidi 😚🙏 Kendra
Hi Heidi thanks again for sharing this information with us today very helpful info.
Thank you so much I need to hear that
Been studying African herbalism & they swear Cats Club (not claw) works phenomenal for arthritis & everything.
Balance and stretching exercises really help joints heal as well. And zero impact.
Yep!
Great list. Thank you.
Lots of great items here. Thanks. However I would add that a warning should be given about poke berries which are quite poisonous even to skin touch. That should have been mentioned in any reference to it.
I was pretty sure I had mentioned that they are considered poisonous and that was also why I told people they need to do their own research on that
Thanks for explaining that I am looking for something that goes deeper in the skin for my nerve pain. Other things that I have tried only seem to help surface and not deep enough. So I will look into that product.
The DMSO will do it! I do find it most effective mixing with my muscle rub and only use it occasionally with the black seed oil
@@RainCountryHomestead any herbs suggestions for prostate?
Thank you so much for this. I too have arthritis. And am currently giving Moringa a try. Some have really good results with that. I did not know you could get frankincense in it’s firm of resin. I am going to check that out. As well as the poke berries. Growing up in TN, I have always known about the poke plant as a food. But raised with the belief of it being toxic if not prepared correctly. And we were told to never eat the berries die to them being poisonous. So. Maybe that is not entirely true. I do know that poke berries has been used for dye, stain, paint.
I use glucosamine sulfate by company NOW. It got rid of my horrendous pain in my hands after I got the Covid shots…. Hope it helps you and others too.

Definitely hard to do in the winter when it's not growing but in the spring and summer when it's around yes I have used it and it works great
Urtication is what that is called which is why the botanical name of stinging nettle is urtica dioica

Here in Tn poke grows wild. 😊
That is what I hear :)
Yes, people in some places do use the sting of stinging nettle. I tried it with my husband’s back pain and it did not help. Maybe I didn’t use enough.
I also tried it once for a mild sprain on my wrist. It only helped relieve the pain by turning my mind to the sting instead. So really I only traded one pain for another! haha
@@RainCountryHomestead I think for some maybe the stinging pain is less than joint pain? Mostly I’ll be using it for nutrition and medicine-making
Much needed! 🙏♥️
I always have nutritional yeast on hand and have for years. I do not eat it daily but I do have a few things I like to use it on or in
I'd heard about the stinging nettle on arthritic hands also...also heard they would have bees sting arthritic joints, but don't know if that's true or not.

Question... Is purple dead nettle related to stinging nettle?
Thanks, Heidi for the wealth of information. 🥰
No, they are not related. Purple dead nettle is actually in the mint family. I have never found or used it before though

It might be but I make few tinctures as I prefer teas
Something that helped my ligaments/tendons was Gelatin as it contains the same amino acids as our tendons and ligaments. I would say that it helped the most although it takes time. Organic is likely the best - I trust that you not mind me helping out some?
