- The Mall of Asia in Manila, The Philippines is the third biggest mall in the world, and the biggest in the Philippines. In this video, we head to this mega complex to see it for ourselves, only to be blown away by its sheer size, and to get very quickly lost amongst all the world class shopping.
The BEST part about this area though is the fairground atmosphere you can find JUST outside in the SM by the Bay setup - carnival rides, games, and the SM Mall of Asia Eye - a massive Ferris wheel similar to the London Eye - all overlooking Manila Bay.
There is also Filipino streetfood and just such a great vibe here - but make sure you go on a non-rainy day!

Mall tip: If you are ever lost, but you know the shop you are looking for, ask a security guard. I'm sure you have noticed them. They are everywhere. Even individual stores would have guards outside the mall. They are the fastest way to look for a location/store without having to walk to one of the main entrances for the information desk. But please dont ask generalized question, like where can you buy a certain thing. You could ask where is the tech area, or food area, since some malls have generalized areas like food, tech, clothing ect.
There’s so many security guards here!! And they’re so helpful so that’s such a good idea! Thank you!!
@@josieliftsthings yah you can approach security guards here and ask them, most are informed about whereabouts, i dunno if it is normal or awkward to do this in other countries.. but here you can ask literally anyone. Especially if you are a foreigner, people would likely to help you.. you can approach everyone here in public

Fun fact: during the peak of Mall of Asia before pandemic , the highest number of visitors to the mall was 1.1 Million. It was a weekend with super sale, with basketball game finals at the Mall id Asia Arena which is beside the mall, etc.

You should try going to Tagaytay city. The ferris wheel ride is insane... you'll have a fantastic view of the famous taal volcano.. avoid going on a weekend though... good luck with your vlog!!

The SM Mall of Asia have an indoor Arena is a flexible venue that can adapt to all sorts of events from concerts or any sports events. Its massive all-glass facade can accommodate a seating capacity of 15,000, with a full-house capacity of 20,000 and ice skating rink which you saw.

This mall (MOA) was confusing to navigate on my first visit. This is also near the Sofitel Manila with the best buffet (Spiral Buffet) in all of the Philippines. The cheese room is amazing.

Malls in the Philippines, especially the SM Malls, are designed to be a one-stop-shop for people. Catholic mass is also held every Sunday before a mall opens.

Philippines isn't that cheap place any more. They're actually getting expensive there. Probably it depends what you really like for example if you want to stay in a hotel there's always an options for you either if you prefer five star or three. But yeah it's getting expensive there. It does look nice watching Manila from here how beautiful and well developed. The infrastructure getting better I'm talking about the buildings, roads, bridges etc, I was blown away. Mabuhay Philippines.
It is definitely more expensive than where we came from in Thailand! But neither of us have ever been here before so we aren’t sure what it used to be! We definitely could look at more local places etc where I assume the prices would be lower? Thank you for watching 😁😁😁

I agree. As a local myself, traveling outside Manila cost 2x to what it cost when having a vacation in 2015.
The tax in sugared beverages and liquors contributed as well to the inflation. There’s also a rise in the middle class making everyone want to travel.
It's true Philippines becomes expensive place for tourists. But if people visiting Philippines from countries using dollars, euros and other high rate currencies is nothing too much when their money is converted into Phil. Pesos, still an advantage...so, to me, going to Philippines is still not too costly compared to European countries, especially using Euros is too expensive.

It's actually the fouth (4th) biggest mall in the Philippines but it is one of the world's largest sprawling entertainment, retail, trade complex and it continously developing.
It's now the third biggest mall in the world according to wikipedia since the opening of biggest ikea store in the world there in 2021
