Finally, thank you 3×, from what I've seen there are florals and prints that really rock even for us in the 50s who love bold colors. Animal prints can be aging, but you made the difference clear. Your teaching technique is perfect. ❤from Europe, Slovenia.
Thank you so much! We have many Europeans here and I love your perspective. I adore bold prints and I think we can definitely still wear them for as long as we want! Happy you are here!
Thank you Nada. I love your videos and the longer they are the better. This video is very helpful. After watching it I went into my closets and did a quick declutter of all the NOs. This helps so much. You are awesome!
Oh thank you so much Chris! I am so glad you find them helpful and that you were able to identify a couple of items in your wardrobe to declutter. That means so much to me! So glad you are here!
As a 45 y.o. print lover I was on a search for information on what to wear and not age myself. Your video is very helpful. I will use your knowledge to sort through my mostly bodenusa wardrobe.
I love that you do this analysis with prints and colors and styles. It's very unique. It seems like everyone does videos about what are the new trends, how to wear them, what to avoid etc, but I have not seen anyone do this type of analysis, I have learned so much and I love the unique content!
This is really helpful; once I started watching I realized I was there for the live premiere, but I don't think I was able to see the whole thing as I don't remember the end. I've got most of it down, but floral still confuse me a bit. I will study more! I think part of my problem is that I like the sweet florals in the pastel colors. I love to wear pastels more than bright colors, going to work on getting out of my comfort zone. (Secretly thinking about the pink dress that arrived a couple days ago, the light blue coming today & the white with pastel flowers on Friday...)
Hi Nada, I think sometimes it’s the shoes that makes the difference or the accessories. I loved this video. I wish you would add WHY it’s a good or bad print. You do it on some. I find myself asking why you think it’s good or bad when I have the opposite view and I can’t figure out why . I also look at the placement especially on larger prints..
Prints are definitely tricky. Stripes and dots are fairly easy if the colors are up to date and not busy. I'm not fond of animal prints so that's not a problem but florals are extremely difficult. I have several that I guess I need to remove from my closet. I really appreciate your advice on styling older women. We want to look modern and not foolish by dressing too young or frumpy
Your videos are fabulous! What would make them more fabulous is to say WHY the print or style are modern or not. You’ve covered that in other videos, but would love the repetition to remind me. Thanks for what you do!
So true about stripes. I love stripes but have one multi colored striped top that I can never style in a way that I like! I am definitely sticking to two colors from now on!😂
I enjoyed watching your video, buy I am not sure you succeeded in establishing what is a good design pattern versus what is a bad pattern other than a good pattern being something you like even if it is not something you’d wear. This is unfortunate as you cannot go shopping with each of us. I agree dull pastels are aging, but I also think women have to be very careful when they wear bold patterns that the pattern is not wearing them. If one sees a women in a bold outfit and the observer’s first thought is what a great outfit, then the outfit is wearing the model and not the image the model should want to convey. The model should want the observer’s first though to be what a great looking (not necessarily beautiful) woman. I also think large prints should be worn by large or overweight women. Smaller women need to wear smaller prints as they tend to be overwhelmed by larger prints. I’ve also heard a lot of fashion influencers say the larger prints are no longer in style, although I still think a larger woman needs a larger print look in proportion.
I agree 💯. Small parrerns for smaller women and I do not like bold prints at all. Although personalities play a big role in what someone likes, even if what they are wearing is not pleasing to my eye.
Sorry if that was confusing, but I am just referring to the prince and not the style in that case. Capris that are fitted should be retired. Cropped pants that are wider leg still look modern and are much more flattering. Look at the French terry full leg crops from J Jill to see an example of a good one.
Geometric squared or sharp prints should be on geometric shaped sharp dresses. Like a straight cut. A more rounded curvy wavy print is fine on a loose flowy dress. Imo.
I love Farm Rio but in small doses. I have 2 winter coats from them and they are statement pieces that I like to wear now and then but not often. I say avoid prints of any kind unless you're certain they work. Solids are typically the way to go. Neutral solids. imo
Sorry I’m just seeing this! Cami is on its way out of style but in some parts of the country like Florida it never goes out of style so that to me as a personal style question. In other words, if you love it, it’s pretty timeless. Bandanna prints are also specific usually to Western wear and don’t really date. They don’t go out of style
Although your videos are a little long...I put the time aside to watch because they are informative and funny. Watching this video, I realized I don't like prints on me. I don't own any. My closest is beautifully embroidered blouses. 😊
Nada you are so enjoyable to watch. I crack up when you talk about a print or clothing item you detest.😅 . Actually, I have moved away from prints since the 90s. If I go with a print it has to be small amd subtle. I don't care for loud clothing, never have. I would rather use a pop of color in a shoes or handbag. Maybe, I am wrong about my theory, but I think it takes certain personalities to pull off prints. For instance, my youngest sister loves polka dots, stiped and prints. She was always the fun one of the 4 of us. I probably have more of a classic Style, but keep it modern. I've had friends and family say, oh, where are you going? LOL. I cN just be in jeans, nice shirt, some sort of jacket, but hair is done and a little makeup. I don't have to be the most well dressed person in the room, but I do feel the need to be presentable.
@@kathystclair9485 thank you so much for this! It made my day! I actually totally agree with you about prints. They are very tied to personality and personal style. That’s why you and your sister like to wear them differently and like different types of prints. What a great observation. It sounds like you have that classic style that always makes you look pulled together. ❤️
The only thing I don't like about that black and white polka dotted blouse is the sleeves. I would definitely wear the blouse if it had just regular short sleeves.
I love polka dots and stripes. I love many florals but I see they are tricky. I only like plain animal prints not busy ones. Not a big fan of most geometric prints and busy prints or the nondescript prints. What about plaid? I wear it a lot mostly in fall and winter.
I think what made the dress (the 2nd ex you showed) not work was the sleeves. If the sleeves had been full length with a cuff out of sheer fabric, it would have worked better. Making them shorter, flutter sleeves could also have worked. Sleeves that end at the elbow are very matronly imo.
I agree mostly with your opinions, but not all. The t-shirt with the bold animal picture and the western patterned shirt are definitely ageing - they've been overdone, at least in the UK, in designs for 50+ ladies, for too long. The ruched pink geometric dress was horrendous, for any age. I heard the 1980s called and asked for their worst fashion designs back! I definitely get what you were saying about sweet designs and sweet patterns, but the polka dot blouse was lovely - the cut was so good that, sweet or not, it definitely carried the pattern well. The red "bandana" blouse (I don't know why they call that bandana, either) had a fantastic strong red colour and a flattering style. No, it's not current "fashion", but it would look lovely on any woman. I think that the cut of a piece of clothing has to be taken into account, along with its fabric's colour and pattern.
I find if I wear a print, it would be on the bottom. I am top heavy with not much bum or hip to speak of. I need to proportion myself. I believe a print on top would look unflattering 77% of the time on my body type. Also, I love many of the blouses you show but I have spare tire. Small but not firm and feel like these flowy, silky tops really emphasize this spot. Same with back fat. That material just seems to emphasize. If this isn't true, I would love to see pics of woman who are more average sized with flabby spots and how to hide or at least not emphasize those areas. Thanks.
I disagree with you on about 80% of the florals- it really depends on your look. Some of the florals you listed as bad florals are in my wardrobe and they look stylish and amazing. Not everyone fits the same mold
Chaus can be soooo hit or miss. I feel like they have an identity crisis often! I was shocked to learn they are under the same umbrella as Cece and Court & Rowe, Lol!
They definitely do not look like actual leopards, but they are simple and neutral and considered classic in the U.S. The busy ones with all of the extra stuff on them are not classic.
Nada, I like the tips you share, but I leave the sound off when I play your videos. Your constant repetition and unfinished sentences are annoying. Another comment mentioned the length of your videos. That doesn't really both me, but you could make them shorter by perhaps sticking a little more closely to a script and eliminating the repetition. Today I discovered that I just can't watch you either because of the hands. Sorry, but I'm going to unsubscribe.
I loooooove that your videos are long, Nada!! You can’t explain your grand wisdom in short videos!!!! ❤
Thanks Nada. I crave your long videos. I’m fashion challenged so I need all the education I can get. Plus you’re just fun to hang out with.
Oh, thank you so much! That truly made my day! So happy you’re here.
I love your opinions and videos. Prints are definitely challenging. You are helping me see the forest through the trees.

I love long videos, Nada! Don't worry about taking too long!!! (LOVING seeing your subscriber count grow and grow!)
Thank you so much! You are the sweetest!
Thank you Nada for helping us sort through the good the bad and the ugly. Your fashion sense is of course right on point.
Thank you so much! I so appreciate it!
Fabulous. Thanks for educating us.
Very helpful! Please post a ton more examples, not sure I really get it. Thanks!
I love your explanations. You basically put into words my thoughts about great personal style. Thanks for sharing your talents.
More please!
Will definitely do more of these
I love your videos! I used to collect Equipment florals tops. I sold them through a second hand store and they sold right away!! Keep it modern now.

Thank you for taking the time to gather photos to show us! I loved this video. :)
THanks! More examples please! I totally agree with you!❤
Hi Nada, grea vlog. I struggle with this , so definitely have some home work to do.
Great video. Love the take on the patterns on different pieces.
Thank you so much!
Hi Nada. Love your videos but didn’t get the difference between good and bad prints. Sorry I missed the lesson today.
sorry about that! I’ll do my best to explain it more clearly in the future. I have done other videos on Prints if you would like to check them out.

Can I wear a light beige corduroy jacket with cotton kaki beige jeans?
@@Iselostcause yes I think you can pair cotton and corduroy together perfectly. I love a mix of textures.

Love those prints !
That catsuit needs a tail and ear headband.
Depends on your season
The choice of colors definitely depend on the season, but less so the choice of prints.
So helpful! Thank you❤
Definitely more❤
How can you do a whole video on prints and ignore both checks and plaids?
Good point! It’s because I cover them in an earlier video on prints! And because I didn’t want the video to be two hours long 🤣

Many of the prints you like are on styles too young for women over 40. Not helpful!

Let's admit --- Most prints are unnecessary. In other words, ugly.
I wanted to give a thump up,but it didn't work.
Another great video. So happy your channel is growing……loves videos like this. Could you do an Amazon haul on cute summer dresses vs not cute lol
That's happened to me a couple of times on other channels.
These leopard prints are not authentic . In South Africa we have authentic leopard skin looking dress materials

These giant prints give me a headache and curtain and upholstery vibes.
