Thanks for the baggy-tight-just right comparisons. Helps a lot and helped me cull off some of my clothes that I don’t necessarily wear everyday but kept in my closet for certain occasions. I thought “it’s a black skirt and I NEED a black skirt”…. But it was tight and too short especially for my age! I think the hardest part of this for me is that my body does not look like the model bodies even with shapewear. So then I default to oversized and flowy. Which I’m seeing how that reads frumpy and “old lady”. Not something I want going into my 40’s.
I heard Walmart hired fashion designer Brandon Maxwell for its elevated apparel brands, Scoop and Free Assembly. This may be an option for those on a weight loss journey and don’t want to invest too much right now to get style.
I’m not plus sized but I’ve noticed that soooo many men prefer bigger women. I think this is wonderful because frankly the average size is 12-14 and up in the U.S. (I believe) Plus size today is much more “accepted”. You see this in fashion. I think all women are beautiful.
I remember when plus size clothes came with those huge patters. Everything was a large trapeze dress with a huge collar and neck tie. Like a gigantic Raggedy Ann doll.
There is a shop here on YT called Sheperd's. They specialize in clothing for those over 40. They love the baggy is better look with lots of tunics. I would love to see you educate them as to what outfits look better.
@@NadaManley It wouldn't work for me, but I can see this as that timeless dress you can wear for a lot of occasions by just swapping out accessories. And a good price!
My biggest pet peeve about plus size fashion is the too long, shapeless top over leggings/skinny pants. It makes me look like a marshmallow on toothpicks. Grrr. If the top is going to completely cover your butt & crotch & hit at the upper thighs--please, just add more fabric & make it a proper dress because it's too long to tuck into pants or a skirt & the prportions are awful. My 2nd biggest pet peeve is elbow length sleeves that just hang there or stick out (so matronly) especially combined with a crew neck & dropped shoulders.
Universal standard has better fitting clothing and is a size inclusive brands. I found that shopping at ELoqui was frustrating. Very few things look good on a plus size body.
That is annoying! I really like universal standard. I was just looking for examples of specific styles and Eloqui had them. Thanks for the feedback. I always like to know what brands work best.
Over a long enough timeline your shape will change. If you are a rectangular shape you will not miraculously change into an hourglass. (Though perhaps with hula dancing you could sculpt your waist a bit.) But at one point I had a very slight pear shape. Then changed to inverted triangle.
what if someone just live and breath over-sized clothing? I have never liked fitted garments...I'm size 8 US but I tend to wear baggy stuff, I can't see myself in more ordinary clothing...
This is beautiful. I'm a psychologist and you did an amazing job of encouragement and practicality
Daily pictures... have been brutal but always informative.

I am not plus size, but I have a tummy I try to camouflage. There are some excellent ideas here. Thanks!
Great video.... My mother always told me to Stop buying big baggy clothes... Don't wear baggy as much anymore.. Still working on it. Thank you. Maura.
These are UNIVERSAL TRUTHS! I loved this video!
Fantastic video. The pictures you used really helped reinforce what you were saying, especially seeing the same model.
I appreciate your research and your enthusiasm.
Lovely again. As you said you do not have to be plus size to learn a lot from this

When I was younger I was an hour glass, now I am a huge apple.
