2015 Accord Sport with this issue. Tried unplugging and cleaning the sensor cable by blowing dust off it (first one he unplugged in the video) and plugging it in again. Solved my issue! Happened when I had a new battery installed. Tech must not have snapped the sensor cable back in fully. Thanks for this video!

I had this problem, my battery was good but I just replaced my battery since it's been over 3years. The light came back on.. Oh ok!! Prolly didn’t have good connection
Thanks so much for this video. I changed my battery today and forgot to reconnect that wire 😅
Ohhh ok glad u retracted ur steps and figured it out
There is a design flaw with that sensor, the best fix is to buy a negative battery terminal and move the cables to the new terminal and then take a 10ga wire and ground the sensor which is the part where the wires use to be connected, and your car will never have this problem again, you have to ground the sensor or that code will pop up again
How do you ground the sensor?
@@Poosii I cut a piece if 10ga wire about 12 inches long and put 5/16in 12-10 Gauge Ring Terminal on each end and ran it from the new battery terminal to where the neg wire used to connect to the sensor and just tuck the sensor behind the battery somewhere, I forgot to mention that I also added a 36-inch long neg battery cable and bolted it directly from the neg battery post to the engine, In other words, it best the engine has direct contact to the negative battery post, so your alternator can work efficiently,, and the Check Charge system indication will never bother you again... if the Check Charge system indicator does comes back on, then your gonna have to buy the sensor from the dealership, for $42, do not buy aftermarket, but still follow this procedure I laid out or you'll be back to this same problem
Its a very bad design to have the negative cable bolted to (only ) the body of the car and not ground the engine directly,,,,, the alternator is having difficulty finding the negative post on the battery because it has to travel through the body of the car. The engineer who designs this car knows very little about electricity....... (Negative and ground ) means the same thing
Do you have a video explaining this? I think I'm having this problem right now
Where on the motor is a good place to land the ground?
Great video. I have a 2014 Acura RDX and I have to change the same sensor wire with the 2 pins.Do you know the part number? Thanks again

Have a custom 250amp alt installed in mine for sound, but couldn’t take advantage of continuous 14v to feed the equipment. Wish there was an easy solution to disable the eco charging without having to buy Hondata Pro and program it
Oh damnnn yeah no solution to this
@@RBTheMechanic the solution is a custom alternator with its own external regulator haha but that would throw charge system codes and I don’t wanna look at that each time the car start. And turns out the L4 version of hondata is almost $800 brand new while the v6 model is $500… what a rip haha who’s tuning earth dream series engines like tf? 😂😂

Hey man! Did you solve the problem? I have the same problem right now
Don’t forget there’s another electrical fuse component inside the main fuse box under the hood that will cause the battery drain no start issue too it’s called an ELD fuse or Electronic Load Detector it’s located right next to the battery fuse it’s typically chocolate brown in color replace this when all else fails or has been checked and proven ok there’s a couple of videos here on RUclips that explains the issue good luck 🍀

I have a 2015 Honda accord the check charging system light came on. I know it's not the battery because I purchased a new battery last month from autozone so it's not that. I checked the alternator by running the car and disconnecting the positive cable while it was running. The car continued to run no problems and would have shut off if the alternator was bad so it's not that. Now something is up because prior to doing any of this the car interior lights do not turn on (the ones you press overhead by the rear view mirror) when opening the door or when turning off the car. What is your opinion on this? I did take a look at the voltage regulator. It maybe fried but I am not 100% sure. It looks like it might be and if that is so would this also effect the interior lights?
Yeah it might be this sensor also check for all fuses I had problems where blown fuse for horn caused this so u never k ow fuse for ur lights can be out also disconnecting and connecting this Sensor also work several times try that as well
@@RBTheMechanic Thank you for the swift response. I did change out a fuse for the interior light. The lights came back on. The check charging light is still on. I disconnected the plug and plugged it again and started the car and the light still came on. I went to the Honda dealership and purchased the voltage regulator. Cost me $60......right now I'm eating a late breakfast so after I finish eating I will go change it out. I will let you know the results. Would you believe when I purchased this Honda it didn't have a battery bracket in it?
@@loganmannix5271 yeah they wild I just purchased honda flex pipe bolts for 2005 accord they didn’t sell springs with it and charged me $66 anyways good job so far let me know how it turn out once’s ur done!
@@RBTheMechanic Okay so I put the new voltage regulator on and the charging system light is still coming on. I turned off the car and then unplugged the plug in and connected it again and turned the car back on again. The battery charging light still came on.
@@loganmannix5271 did I scan to see if there’s any codes … check the connector on the sensor to see if it’s melted also check all fuses every single fuse
I got a 13 v6 accord. When driving the nav turns off, starts to shift ruff and instrument panel flickers then goes normal. Now when I turn off the car it "reboots" and runs fine. Then does it again
That I’m not sure could be fault cluster panel
I fix my car with this video, bro thanks a lot 🫡🫡🫡
Nice!!
What was the name of the piece that you replaced from the dealer?
Sorry I’m not sure about the name of it but u can see the part number there
Battery sensor.
This worked for me! Thanks!
Nice job!!!
I changed that sensor which was $60 at the dealership, the charging system light went away for about a week and then it came back, I already changed the battery and the alternator, what else can it be?
Did u out in after marker alternator?
@@RBTheMechanicyes
What’s the name of that sensor I want to see if I can get it on Amazon for 2013 odyssey
Battery voltage regulator
I know this video was uploaded quite a while ago but where can I order that piece brother
this part is from dealer if u can search online ebay or amazon u might find it other wise dealer only,,,anyways do check ur fuses all of ur fuses some times it will come cuz of horn fuse i had many of those
My car says that and it's in the shop and they said that I need a engine wiring harness do that sound right?
I doubt that. Check all the fuses every single fuse I had these cars just because horn fuse was blown the light popped up and this part is like $40 might as well give it a shot check fuses first every single fuse use a test light and use volt meter to check alternator out put
Would this work on a 07 Acura type s?
Umm might not be same but give it a shot
It can not be the alternator if your getting the same message on panel?
It can be but u got to check basics first
Wow I was wondering what that was on my Honda...ok got it!!
It Work!!!2019 H.A.2.0T.Touring
Nice good job
This happened to me. My car wouldn’t start. I got the alternator replaced and a new battery. Afterwards my radio kept cutting off while the car was on. And the check charging system was still on the dash. Then one day the radio just went completely out and never turned back on. About a week later I ended up needing a new battery sensor. But my radio still isn’t on… what could that be?
Not sure about the radio check fuses
Check for recalls too, because that sensor has been recalled and dealer should replace for free
Yeah but we live in north NJ the dealer is a stealer they tell people they have no warrnty or lie to people and keep the truth hidden how ever I’ll make a video to inform people
Thanks 🙏 That’s exactly what was wrong with mine. $40 OEM part 👍
Nice good job
What’s the part name ? Did you power steering light and other light came on with the check charging system Thanks
@@TR1CKSHOTS31no only check charming it’s battery voltage regulator
@@RBTheMechanicooh I had the abs, srs/airbag, brake, battery, power steering , traction control lights come on and the Tpms was blinking.. so I thought it might be the battery/alternator or what you showed in the video. Any idea what I would be ? Or what to test . Any input would be highly appreciated thanks for the awesome videos. Keep it up
@@TR1CKSHOTS31 mine did this, all the lights. Did you figure out how to resolve?
