If you play the splatdoo in 8th notes, that's sometimes called the Gap Band. When Dave Grohl was interviewed by Pharrell, he said that's where he got the Nirvana fill.
Amazing video! When other languages are concerned, in Bulgarian there is "Ши-ро-ка три-о-ла", which sounds something like Sheh-Ro-Kah Thre-Oh-La (make the Google Translator say it slowly :) ). It means "a quarter note triplet" and rhytmically represents two quarter note triplets.
@@DrumsBonedo Love it, but that is a different fill. Normally followed by a "Boom Tish". Totally up for more geographical drum fill names though. "Brisbane-is-the-nuts..you know it"
Divirgilio is my drum fill May not sound like much, but if you play it fast (a lot like Nick Divirgilio says his name), it's a fascinating triplet feel, sounds very fancy, embellished. A lot like Nick Divirgilio's name.
Guys, ... your videos are always great , AND, entertaining, but the best part is that it is ALWAYS a great example of how drums and cymbals sound! That being said, hashtaging the equipment doesn't cut it and won't sell more merchandise. Please, list the kit, sizes, heads and cymbals you use ... please! We're not asking too much are we?! :)
Must be that power stroke 77 head? It has that dampening ring deal on the bottom side, must kind of do what the duct tape would do. And it's an Lm400. I'm thinking that's probably has something to do with it too
Thanks, that was fab. One comment: I treat Pat boone debbie boone as a half-measure fill. when playing 4/4 as in your demonstration , start it on the 3, not on the 1
Thank you Nick anybody that played drums with Phil Collins must be a real musician because Phil Collins only plays with musicians not drummers musicians
“Walk the buttah home-ah” “Pancakes getting cold” “Ice waffle mountain-duh” “Chicken little midnight” Okay, those don’t actually exist. I just thought it would be funny if some people tried those as fills. :P
It's called bonham triplets. That's what everyone calls it. I have never in my life heard "boo da la" or whatever the dumb sounding shit that was. Please prove me wrong. Please link a video where someone calls "bonham triplets" the "boo da la." I'll be waiting.
The names sound so idiosyncratic, just like drummers themselves. BTW, if you think Pat Boone is from the ‘70s then you have no idea what he represents at all. He’s definitely a fixture of the ‘50s, and his squeaky clean, sanitized version of rock and roll was a popular counterpoint to the era’s wonderfully raunchy rockers.
After you watch, give this video a thumbs up and subscribe! 😎🤘

I've always seen "blushda" but I feel like those in the know will know what you're getting at
Same here. I think it was Eric Moore that turned me onto it and that's what he called it.

What snare resonant head is he using? And how is it tuned?
Kaflunkablaa, is one I like to think is my own. It's just like it sounds. Give it a try ,good video my man.
That snare sounds amazing. Please explain the tuning on that exact drum
It sounds like Alex van halens snare. Almost exactly to his live sounds back in the mid to late 80s
Must be that power stroke 77 head? It has that dampening ring deal on the bottom side, must kind of do what the duct tape would do. And it's an Lm400. I'm thinking that's probably has something to do with it too

The splat-doo is also know as the brack-em
Awesome
Are those the Inde tom brackets?!
That is not an lm400 supraphonic. It is a pearl sensitone steel snare. Correct?
"Flats in Dagenham" is heard on most pop music of the eighties.
Is that similar to Boots and pants and boots and pants and boots and pants and?
Awsome 👏
Fruit-in-the-loop!

Thank you Nick anybody that played drums with Phil Collins must be a real musician because Phil Collins only plays with musicians not drummers musicians

HAH you got me.
“Pancakes getting cold” is just pat boone Debbie Boone
"Ice cold Mountain Dew" was our version of "Pat Boone, Debby Boone" back in the 90s because we had no idea who they were.

It’s a big planet, so yes, many people call “it” that. Unless you can educate us all on what it should be called?
It's called bonham triplets. That's what everyone calls it. I have never in my life heard "boo da la" or whatever the dumb sounding shit that was. Please prove me wrong. Please link a video where someone calls "bonham triplets" the "boo da la." I'll be waiting.
