I got 198bhp - 160 ft/lbs Cams - £215 [200 spec newmans] Inlet- £220 [caterham] with air filter Exhaust £200 mani, £150 backbox, 150 sports cat Remaps spent 200, 230, 350 had quantum, dreamscience imap ph2 map the jamsport custom. From there I have spent extra £550 on milltek manifold back. Atb diff.. 450 in box, 350 fitting then £500 fixing the leak. Let alone the other 2k spent on other things. Going on track was fun in this, I was limited by skill at caste as you drove better than me. It's a great car, hard to get rid of it.
For road and track use. I found the best value for money to be exhaust, intake, TB, cams and keep the stock inlet manifold. I got 178hp out of that which was a fair amount bit faster than stock, especially with stripped down interior. Great fun Good video btw
Great video, I really liked the analytical approach with graphs, explanations, numbers etc. A very good guide for ST150 owners, thanks! Waiting for the next ones
So basically full exhaust, filter and map is the best for most. That's exactly where I stopped with my performance mods and I'm more than happy with the performance 👌 I did always think cams etc would ruin day to day driving and wouldn't really benefit from them unless on track... Great video!
First of all, congratulations for your channel and the content you're creating, very good quality and nicely shown. About the video: I liked how you researched the power gains using scientific method, really demonstrated where the gains are. If I may interfere a bit in your project, it seems the fitted inlet manifold doesn't suits your application as well as it could, I believe it's related both with runner length and ressonances, and I would recommend changing it back to the original setting. A better solution could be fitting a modified stock manifold with shortened runners, I would recommend reducing around 40mm, so you could have a similar bottom end from those first 3 runs and, also, having benefits of Cams + ressonances tuned for higher RPM. I hope it helps you. Best regards, Pedro
Very interesting upload thank you man- as someone who plans to do mainly track days, I was going to go the full Cosworth 200-spec route as the car will be living in the top end most of the time, apart from getting to and from the track.
Very interesting man. This is why I have gone down the Fusion Fabrications inlet and phase 1 cams from Newman as I want the best torque mod range rather than getting a high reving bhp figure. I'm at Dreamscience next weekend for all the mods and mapping. Also did a few torque runs as is to compare once all done
Finally ahhh.. don't forget a 4-2-1 would be more torque as well.. but would have to be custom. But 4-1 will get more mid to higher. Make sure to your filter upside down so it points out of the engine. Get max air for max figures.
@@CdotPoppy yeh proper excited. Depends what can be done for the air filter with space. Depends if my cone can fit with some silicone hose straight onto TB or if I need to keep the 90degree cone
I'd like to see what you think after a few months with the '200 spec'. Wether your prefer it day to day.... I noticed on your videos you never mapped after the full exhaust/filter too so maybe you missed out on the '170 spec'... And awesome car btw dude! 👌
Thank you mate, i mis one thing i like the inlet manifold keep it stock with some 200spec cams on my st . What can i expect when i have the scorpion 4-1 manifol an sportcat an catback system with the 60mm trotle body an a AIC from mountune ? An put some 200spec cams on it? Sorry for my english😂
What a well made video! I've got a custom catback and mountune CAIS in terms of engine mods for now, definitely will get a militek exhaust manifold and a sports cat to wrap up the exhaust, probably gonna end up getting cams&inlet at some point but I prioritze getting an LSD for now:)
Good video mate at 22 i had an st 150 with the jamsport 200 spec was great fun taking it to car meets. Never tracked it but went to lakeside a lot and back in the day that place was like a track day. Interesting information mine was frozen white with 197bhp and 148ft lbs.. it used todo over 70 in second gear ⚙️ 😆 but topped out at like 130 though in 5th it needed a 6th gear. Shame its gone now makes me want to drive it again for that cosworth inlet and a full miltek decat system sounded amazing
You can... search for MP185 kit. This is what mountune sold before the inlet was developed. Pumaspeed also have a 182kit. Torque ~170lbft, power 182bhp. But redlines less than 7000rpm. pumaspeed.co.uk/product-Fiesta-ST150-Power-Upgrade-ST182---SAVE-130-POUNDS_552.jsp
Hi - 3 is with Milltek manifold, sports cat etc... exhaust mods. Inlet manifold is a different thing. Search for Cosworth Inlet for Duratec engines and you'll see the difference.
The best value for money I reckon is a miltek flexi pipe and a second hand dreamscience imap device. The standard flexi is one of the main limitations of the exhaust so adding the miltek one with the DS map should have it easy around 165bhp and all together can be bought for around £400-450

I got 173hp with the stock TB and intake, that saves quite a bit and probably gives more torque
Wow, what a great video. Very easy to understand. Textbook example!

Get ph2 cams and FF inlet manifold not that cosworth and it will be much better
