Just wanted to let you know we have a new Racechip video coming soon! We are rebuilding the Guilietta engine, re-fitting the Racechip and we are off to the dyno to give it a proper test.. Make sure your notifications are on so you don't miss it. Thanks again for all the support guys 😘
You can't use the onboard computer to measure fuel consumption with a tuning box as the whole point of the box is to trick the car into using more fuel and more boost by modifying the sensor signals to say they are lower than they really are. Hence the ludicrous 80mpg figure. Only way to do it is to record mileage between topping off the tank and dividing by the fuel used.
The RaceChip works a bit different from other tuning boxes and the trip computer did even out and go back to normal readings, the 80mpg was down to a very short slow journey after a reset.
I saw a rolling Road test on one of these on a fiesta ST and across the six settings five of them had no benefit with the sixth given an eight brake horsepower gain basically worthless you’d be better off taking it to a tuner or not bothering 👎😔
Have you done a follow up video to this? Are you still using the chip? Also, do you or anyone know how this works with automatics? Most people say that it needs time to settle in whilst you slowly move up the tiers.
Hi mate, we never got to doing a follow up as the car blew a head gasket and then I ended up selling it after the repair but the 12 months we had it in was brilliant.
Apologies for the missing Audio at the start and the noise at the end we had some tech issues that we have now sorted. Thanks again for watching and make sure you hit the SUBSCRIBE button we really appreciate it and it helps us out loads.
Dynamic mode done the usual and increased the throttle response but it didn’t feel that much different from setting 5 to be honest. In the next few weeks we have another video coming but this time on a dyno to get the proper results
They develop and design each map program to each engine with different programs in the box software (hence have to be specific on ordering which engine you have). Lots of same engines shared between different models in range (VW,Skoda,Audi,Seat for example), RaceChip boxes themselves not a black art as they are doing is what manufacturers do by having different “driving modes” features in some cars all that is doing it changes what parameters ECU is reading be in more aggressive or less RaceChip is just giving you that option particularly useful if car does not have driving modes. No car manufacturers release cars with ECU to full potential always pegged back for emissions figures/etc so plenty of suitable safe potential past this.
There is something called a Roar Pedal. That just connects between the throttle cable. These Race Chips are more involved in their connection. I’m sceptical of both, especially the Road Pedal.
Just bought a race chip, no bhp difference, claims are all false about bhp, throttle response is up but that's it, I will be returning mine. Dyno tests shows, it's all gimmick! Get a proper chip, dnyo tested...
I got my racechip a couple of months ago, it take a few weeks for the chip to work because it has to get used to your fueling perimeters. I have it on a 2019 BMW X1 b46 engine. I can say it definitely works. I am able to keep up with cars that have wayyyy more horsepower than mine.
I bought one a while back and it had a claimed boost in power from 163bhp to 201bhp, i've not had it on a dyno, but the speed increase is very, very noticeable. I also clocked a 6.9 second 0-60mph when stock I did a 7.9.
@@HomeBuilt not true and from what I seen it's only available for turbo and supercharged cars! I looked for an 2018 Ford focus 2.0 non turbo and nothing!

exactly lol my car dose 70mpg on a frosty morning
Sounds like Begbie from trainspotting.

So this doesn't re program your ECU its a piggyback contoller ?
No just alters the signals your ecu recieves so that the main ecu can adjust fuelling, timing etc

@@HomeBuilt blew a head gaskets cux of the racechip?
@@HomeBuilt Was the blow up due to the Race Chip though!
No mate, seized thermostat
fellow Giulietta owner here and just wondering what it's like in dynamic mode :)
Awesome, dynamic just sharpens the throttle response so that combined with the extra power and torque is great.
I have a Genesis G80 Sport (3.3 twin turbo) 365 bhp and 376 lb tq and considering one of these boxes. Are you still enjoying it.
We ended up selling the alfa but it was definitely a great product 👍

The rest of the video was brilliant! 👍
Wee bit confused about this .. can you still use the DNA from the Alfa and the race chip in race settings ??
Yes mate, DNA still works fine.
DNA only changes the throttle response to make it sharper.
@@HomeBuilt thanks 👍👍
@@rogerramjetukuk no worries
What happened when you put it in race 6 AND PUT THE CAR IN ITS OWN DYNAMIC MODE!!!???

There 7 setting on that one
6 on mine
@@Talariaboy562 there is a dot that doesn't say 7 but u can turn it around to it.. it feels faster to me.
Will it work for a stelvio ti sport 280 hp?
They do one for the Stelvio on the website I’m sure.

Thank you
No
Put a big turbo
We also do that on our other cars
race chip seems like a scam like Temu...how do they have a tune for every single car made? its very suspect
Watch the video mate, they develop yhem on a dyno.
They also dont do every car.
100 different cars might use the same engine

We are dyno testing ours this year to see what happens

😂😂😂
I heard these destroy your engine 😢so nope I’ll get it professionally tuned
👍

A quip chip and you got a super car
Will this work on any car
Phil in stoke
Hi Phil, yes these are available for almost every car on the road.

I have written almost every car, sorry they didn’t have one for your car.
