Once we became Amateurs, we started to listen to your Tutorials ALL the time. You have helped me and my ukulele playing to grow greater than ever. One thing is, all my years at School, I have never been able to Chuck! I decided now, because I have grown alot (5 years is quite a while!) To try to learn to Chuck. And I DID IT!!!! I CAN CHUCK!!! • @maggieallen8959
      @maggieallen8959 5 лет назад +30

      That probably means you're pressing down too hard. If you push the string all the way down it will still ring. You want to hit it just hard enough to make the slapping noise but not so hard that it actually plays the string

    Love your teaching style, can I just share a little Australian slang with you? A fairly common term for vomiting goes like this, " Mate had a massive night, I've been chucking up all morning!!" or another term for a vomit is an "up chuck". Luckily you described it as a down chuck. :)

    This is helpful. She teach very slowly and that's good for beginners. I wanna chuck and play along but I don't know. Not until I've seen this. It's helpful! Thanks!

    What I found helped and made it so much easier was strumming with my middle finger on the chuck because then it's not so awkward, rather than strumming with your thumb.

    I normally use my thumb for down strokes.... It feels like my pointer finger is bleeding and I want to die. But I've got the chuck down now so thank you. Now I just have to build up my strength in that finger and it will make me an all over better player.
    And for those who are just starting, don't give up. I've been playing for almost 4 yrs now and I'm only now confident enough to think I can try to learn percussion beats. 3 yrs ago would never try any song with bar chords and now they are probably my favorite ones to mess around with. Don't give up, just keep practicing and you will get better.
