I didn't get to read the Feb book, Digital Minimalism but thank you for sharing all the your thoughts from the book. Such great stuff. And your thoughts on comparison is so spot on! I like your idea of saying no to some things to say yes to the things you really desire to do!! To live the life you want, not the life others are living! Such good words of truth! Thank you Nikol! I'm already listening to Take My Hand. Love historical fiction! 😊

Thank you, Nicole, for your courage in tackling important topics even when it can be tough. Take My Hand sounds like an interesting book so I do intend to check it out. For the digital minimalism movement is really key to trying to limit unnecessary spending and be more aware of how I want to live. Gosh, for me it's a love/hate thing with social media. Limits are crucial.

I could write a novel about all the things I loved about this video! I didn’t get to read Februarys book. The line was too long at my library. But I still have it on reserve. I read primarily historical fiction. I am an avid reader and it is a big part of my mental health. I know I I’ll love your selection for March. Im going to order it today. I love the changes in your channel. It checks all my boxes. Im turning 65 next month….you gave me quite a bit of food for thought today. I am a huge fan of Amy Beth over at the Fat Squirrel podcast. Your channel has quickly become a favorite. I was excited this morning when I saw you both had a new video. Thank you for all your wonderful content.

Thank you for your thoughtful video! You hit on so many great topics, and I’m really glad you took the time to talk about the comment from one of your followers. It’s so important to not compare where we are at in our journey to someone else’s place in theirs. I too have a RUclips channel and IG, but I’ve always practiced digital minimalism. This also seems a bit out of the norm to other as I am retired from IT/Legal professions. It’s actually because of this that I understand the impacts of mis-managing data, and how quickly it can overwhelm anyone. It may seem like a wonderful never ending supply of chocolate, but it won’t be long before it makes you sick if that’s all you consume. Carry on!

When you said that your mind would sometimes wander to loved ones in car accidents and you’d be crying on your way to work … I felt relief! I know that sounds awful but I do the same thing and thought I was crazy for having such thoughts. I like driving in silence so my mind can wander too except for when it wanders to awful things that make me cry. Thank you for sharing! I will be trying the Amazon card removal and a few other tips. I’m terrible with impulsive buys.

Hi Nikol! I enjoyed this video so much. Even though we’re in totally different stages of life, we have a lot in common, from knitting to baking to the kinds of books we like to read, eating plant-based…it goes on and on :) I’m a little late to the party, but after reading the first couple chapters of Digital Minimalism I recommended it to my in-person book club and we’ll be discussing it in April. And I also purchased Take My Hand! Thanks so much for sharing so many different aspects of your life and thought processes here, I really appreciate it.

I have to be honest that I didn’t read this book Nikol but I think you did a really good job doing a synopsis and discussing very important points. I look forward to the next episode 💖📚

I really enjoyed Digital Minimalism. I have deleted Facebook and Instagram from my phone and I reinstall them only on Sundays. I don’t miss it and am trying to be more intentional with my relationships. Social media was giving me a false sense of connection. Thank you for the recommendation!

I did not have a chance to get or read this book for February; however, based on your discussion, I just reserved it through interlibrary loan. Thank you ~

@@ThePineCottage I read the first 60 pages last night and had such a hard time putting it down to go to bed! Already it has intrigued me to research more into this. Thanks for the recommendation! 🌸

Hey Nikol! While reading “Digital Minimalism,” I started going through and deleting old emails that I had moved into different folders. I had kept them for a reason, but I now realize that they aren’t necessary to keep and I deleted them.
Instagram is not hard for me to limit my time on anymore. I left it during the pandemic and now I’m ok with logging on a few times a week. If I start scrolling too much, I catch myself and log out right then.
I did start putting my phone away in a drawer or on a top shelf during the day so I can focus on my kids homeschooling and other things around the house.
I’m looking forward to starting March’s book!

Are you purchasing most of your books, I know you have a library but with any book club I never know if I am going to love the book enough to own it and have too many books. I am trying to limit my purchases to the ones I expect to refer back to many times.. how do you manage that? The March book is available through my library but I am in 18th in line and expected wait time is 12 weeks so urg what a dilemma!! Maybe I will purchase the audio version but would be interested in your perspective..
    Thanks in advance
