Collingwood got off to a slow start but gee once they got going. Nothing to be ashamed off, they are a great side and a great club. Look out next year. (Carlton supporter)
Nobody could have predicted that this first season 'post co-vid' would turn out to arguably be the best season of football ever! And there must be some magnificent football sides in our great competition if Collingwood can have as sensational and extraordinary a season as they did,taking the whole football world on their 'cinderella' journey like no other ever has,yet still not make the Grand Final. My team finished waaay down the ladder but i love our amazing game and what it brings to neutral spectactors of incredible games like this one [let alone those deeply emotionally invested.] Our great game is in a really good place right now.
I'm a Collingwood fan and when they lost I was left in tears. Good game Swans.

The pies reminded me of the bulldogs of 2016. The swans got that strong lead earlier in the game. Collingwood just kept coming and coming.

Collingwood have the most loyal fans in the league, you wouldn't get that many fans going to away game from any other club.

Not to mention became a Vfl premiership and forward coach at Richmond where he excelled. Spewing we lost him. He was part of Richmond's surge to the top yrs back.

I felt that the Pies should have played Ollie Henry instead of Ash Johnson, he would have been more productive. Also Moore should have been on Buddy or Reid. That cross ground defensive pass in the final quarter when Swans kicked a goal with no-one in the last line was a disaster for the Pies. They should never have allowed that to happen, just very undisciplined and disappointing. The umpires calls were brutal and Sydney got at least 3 goals from charity frees. Stevic IMO is particularly brutal towards the CFC.
Collingwood will come back next year😊

I don’t we could’ve done much better against Geelong in the big g so I feel this was the most fitting end to our season. We lived by the edge all year and we ended it in the edge.
I don't think we would have won, but we would have put up a much better fight than Swans did.
Any neutral fan has to respect the hell out of Collingwood for that season!

To single out John Noble and not others is unfair. Maynard had a stinker. Many of their players (including their stars) weren't great or had little impact. Their defenders were humbled, particularly in the first half (Darcy Moore played better 2nd half). They've been exposed twice now by Sydney.

Yes it was indeed a Miracle year nonetheless. One of the best on record for any team in terms of close finishes and nail bitters...
Pies were running on fumes in the end and the loss of key personnel didn't help the cause... however there are no excuses.
The belief and energy this team has built from this year's effort is gonna be huge for the Club's future.
Coming from 17th to lose the prelim by 1pt is till a mighty effort.
Collingwood will have some Grunt and leadership back next year with Grundy and Adams.
Very difficult for any team to win without the number 1 ruckman and without such an impact inside player with Heart and Soul like Adams (in similar mold of a Luke Ball).
To be honest, as great as the GF Would have been, it wouldn't have felt right to win without those two and the Pies would most likely have been smashed by Geelong because the energy source was dry.
We all knew that Subconsciously I feel however the Story is not yet over until the Pies CONQUER in 2023

@@Zed137 Good Point. Not out of Legs per se, rather out of Gas emotionally in terms of winning in tight finishes. 9 out of 12 is a wonderful effort.
Yeah man conquer but without Grundy. And as usual the magpies still can't solve their major problem kicking enough goals. Until the club gets a big goal kicking key forward they will never win a premiership.

the complaints are that he didnt even mark it. hit the floor.
There doesn't seem to be much talk about Sydney's last quarter and a bit, that was pretty poor footballby them. Their only goal in that whole time coming from a clear infringement against Moore, just can't see them holding up for 4 quarters against Geelong on a bigger ground

I’m a Collingwood supporter but seriously the Swans played a fantastic game. But you have to agree they were killing in the last 15 mins. I hope Collingwood beats Sydney next season. But the Swans were good in the Prelims but they choked at the MCG. GO PIES ⬛️⬜️⬛️⬜️🏳️🏴

A month ago, Carlton was crying after a one point loss to Collingwood. Today? Collingwood devastated and its players crying like little boys. And Carlton? Laughing with joy at having the Brownlow medalist within their ranks. Ah, the exquisite delights of karma. A joy to behold!
