    This is absolutely hilarious! Gerard and Nick got only one assessment correct - McRae was a good appointment. The "low profile coach is exactly what Collingwood needs while they rebilid" ... And the "long and ardulous road ahead"... Experts? The lesson here is never let another persons opinion define you. Go Pies!

    I'm not the smartest person in the world, or the best judge of a person, but Craig McCrae seems like a high quality human being, when hearing him speak, and his football record would back that up.

  • @lozantoninocreations
    @lozantoninocreations 10 месяцев назад +5

    How wrong was Nick? He thought we might get worse and we would need to be patient and Fly would need to united the list. He united the list alright and we definitely didn't need patience. The turn around was instant. Prelim first year and Premiers the next, is better than anyone would have anticipated. Yet people see the 17th result as an issue, when it was the outlier after a horrible year, starting with the Treloar trade and ending with Bucks resigning. It was just a single bad year in 6 years of pretty good results (most of those years Collingwood made the Prelims at least, I think one was just the semis).

    In the final round of 2016, Richmond lost to Sydney by 113 points, yet were premiers 12 months later, so fortunes can turn quickly, and the Collingwood list is in better shape than Nick Riewoldt makes out, but then again, he's probably still salty about 2010, and he does believe Geelong is the "complete team." 🤦🏼‍♀️

    • @jisakoff
      @jisakoff 3 года назад +1

      It's really a matter of cap space. The Pies blew themselves up this year out of necessity. As for the Cats, they certainly went all in by signing Cameron and Isaac Smith. It's a "win now" strategy which, if it doesn't pay off, will only lead to a rebuild sooner, rather than later.

    • @stephanieb8095
      @stephanieb8095 3 года назад +2

      Footy is played mostly above the shoulders, and that is where Collingwood has struggled mostly this season due to off field drama starting with last year's trade period.
      Poor coaching, and the slow sideways, ultra defensive crap game plan also didn't help, and are definitely in need of a marking forward, but wins over Melbourne and West Coast showed they can beat any team, and I don't think they're as far away as "Satly" Riewoldt makes out.

    For experts you blokes really had no idea. I'm no expert, but even I realised that Fly wasn't taking over a basket case of a team. That team had played a lot of finals footy up till 2021, including a Grand Final that they lost by a kick. They'd had one bad season, after a real controversial off season with The Do Better report and the Salary Cap debacle, that all lead to some ordinary form, which lead to the coach's departure...
    I knew they they were gonna rise back up pretty quick. And I said it at the time. While I'm so glad Fly got the job, he did take over a ready made, finals winning team.

    What a load of rubbish, everyone trying to make the best of a bad job. I have supported Collingwood since 1959 and never once even in the bad times have I thought it was not worth it. That is until lately, the way Adam Treloar was treated was shameful, and Buckley was treated even worse. The people who should be replaced are the ones making these decisions.
    So we have had a bad year, I remember worse. We have great players, next year will be better but if it isn't Collingwood is still a great football club.
    I have just read he has never coached a senior side, if that is true what a brilliant decision.
