@@cl1cka yes but she didn’t know what she was getting into. It would have been better (to a western audience) if she knew the true gravity of the situation and went with greed over her, or someone else’s well-being. Just because no one put a gun in her mouth and told her to play doesn’t mean it’s not still a weak plot device. (Usually) the plot should not push the characters, the characters should push the plot. I’m not trying to attack the show in anyway, the lack of character development is probably a cultural difference. A lot of times in anime’s or Japanese/Korean shows characters have little character development (and sometimes motive), the evil characters are evil and the courageous and selfless characters a courageous and selfless. A lot of times in western media this is a sign of weak writing but this is usually not the case in eastern media.

After hearing the rules, I think the best option would be to give each other the money so we technically ‘stole’ the other persons money. In the rules, it doesn’t say you keep what you save, just what you steal, so the best solution is to use the million yen to trade for the other persons yen. This also has the be if it if not making enemies, as everyone’s happy

    • @whenevertheycatchyou5442
      @whenevertheycatchyou5442 2 года назад +37

This strategy won't really work, it will only be the same as if both players didn't play at all.
The video has a very simplified version of the rules.
In the show, it is stated that the player with the most money at the end will win. The Liar Game Agency will take back 100 million yen from each player, the winner keeping their excess and the loser being in debt for the amount they cannot pay back.
So if the players trade their money with each other, it will be treated as if there was no change at all and the game ends in a tie with nobody winning any money.

So he could have walked away until he went to stop the young lady from playing and became a player that way. 30:00 So another player having your name plate doesn't prevent your vote from being counted. So the strategy of stealing someone's nameplate to nullify their vote wouldn't work. So stealing someone else's nameplate would be pointless unless you could get it off of the premises.
Also, there is a much simpler way to beat the Liar Game than anything that you laid out: Lawyer Up. No court would say that watching a video tape constitutes agreeing to a contract when you were not given any warning to that effect. So keep the initial cash, find a good contract lawyer, and beat the game's organizers in court.

This is my favorite manga. I revisit it once in a while. There is usually a way out for them in every game as long as they're willing to corporate. They're Zero Sum games after all. But no one trusted anyone, their hatred tw each other grew bigger when they entered more rounds. However, there's one person who always kept her words, never betrayed, and accepted anyone who wanted to join her. That's Nao. She never changed her belief in human, and she did become smarter throughout the process while trying not to harm anyone with the help of Akiyama, who trusted no one ever except for himself. Everyone realized that they could at least trust Nao for once, and they kinda broke the cycle. I never hate Nao in the manga, she's annoying at first purely because she doesn't understand how this cruel world works, but she's really someone we wanna root for.

    Great video. Fantastic games.
That said, as an avid fan of the Liars game series I just wish I didn’t have to brace myself for the comments being entirely about how dumb the MC is and not(not in the show as much, so this doesn’t really apply here) her massive growth or the reason why she’s that naive.
But Akyama literally would not help her if she wasn’t this pure, and people like her exist, so watching her growth over the manga was fun. Going from the type of person to return a quarter to the police(her character intro), to someone who could play serious personality games without Akyama, you just had to not mind the beginning.
Plus, great games, just fantastic games.

I actually had the exact personality as Nao in the very beginning of the liar game. I didn't know it at the time though, yes, I was that naieve and pure, which honestly looking back was sad.
Anyways, in my early adulthood/college years I met a sly trickster and got a lesson of my life.
I'm changed now and not as naive.

The way to win this is easy. A VCR video, not in writing, cannot force consent, and is not legally binding. By watching the VCR tape, it does not force you to participate in the game because it is not legally binding. You did not sign a contract. You did not even verbally agree. You will win 100% of court cases with this problem.

If you brought it up and made a public ordeal of it, most of society would side with you and call it injustice, but you would just be silenced, and media would be paid off to make you look like the villain.
Of course, there's no 100% guarantee this will happen either, so it's worth a try to bring it up with the court. Worst they can do is make you honour the tape, which is happening in the film anyway.

How to beat the cult in apostle, especially when you consider they have a supernatural way of using blood to force feed the goddess to make their crops and vegetation grow, also it’ll be interesting to see you cover how Thomas can fight the cult, get over his drug addiction and what else he can use to help make the town turn against the leaders
How to beat resident evil welcome to raccoon city, especially when you consider how there’s zombie dogs, lickers and mutations of creatures that can tank bullets and what else the team could’ve done and used in the mansion scene especially when they got swamped and had automatic rifles like MP5s instead of pistols
How to beat the shallows, especially since the shark seems to have a vengeance on the girl for trespassing on his eating ground, especially with a large whale floating around for him to eat, and that what else can we do to prevent dehydration and what can we eat to get enough energy
How to beat bone tomahawk, the killers are inbred cannibal Indians called Triloboites, not only are they stealthy but they’re big and good at sneak attacks, it’ll also be interesting to see what we can do and what weapons and survival kit we’ll need to survive the Wild West
How to beat the devils rejects, seeing a family of crazy lunatics who love to kill and rape others, it’ll be interesting to see how you’ll let the police handle this and what the family did especially with their handmade armor and what else could the sheriff and the band have done to survive and take down their attackers

Best way to beat the game.
With the initial money, invest it i to several different stocks. Choose safe ones that are rising slowly and steadily. At the end of the month sell it all, keep the profits.
Since you physically don't have the money, it will be extremely difficult for the opponent to steal it. If you play it safe you'll get a few thousand dollars profit, if you take a bit of a risk, you could end up with a bigger profit, but might lose some of it if a stock drops.
So I'd play it safe, no reason to be greedy.

Of all the life-ruining games of betrayal featured on this channel, the one featured in this show seems to be the most corny and written for young teens.
    - Of course the con man emerged from the grit and ruthlessness of jail with perfectly styled and dyed hair looking like a boy band member.
    - Storytelling elements to establish his prodigy-level smarts and cunning include: his brooding demeanor, his sexy mysteriousness, his smug stare through his luscious locks, and having other characters react to literally everything he says with confused awe.
    - The teacher stole millions from homegirl and the game rules allows them to fight or even kill each other, but both parties just sit across the street from with binoculars for days like they're in Home Alone.
    - Everyone playing is desperate to the point of being willing to throw their lives away for the cash and the game allows everyone to do anything including kill to win, yet the near dozen players in the "alliance" are only worried about a woman who once stole some money and are outright terrified of her for no reason.
    - Bowl-cut nerd swindled the cheque from quitter girl by taking it out of her hands and strutting away in broad daylight. Yet, quitter girl never noticed his male build, male voice or 5 o'clock shadow.

Akiyama's deduction in the second round to secure a winner was nicely worked out, but I think the mind games played in the final vote is the best, and a very smart move. However, he could've been beaten, and that's by his own strategy. If only two out of the remaining three players colluded for one to vote yes and the other to vote no, this could've forced Akiyama to lose eventually, even if hit a tie again.
Between the three, it would make the most sense for the girl and the non-thief guy to work together for this strategy to secure a likely win. The thief is clearly not trustworthy, so no one should be working with him, and Akiyama definitely won't work together with him, so they won't know what each other are voting, that means if the girl and the non-thief guy voted opposites, by probability, eventually Akiyama and the thief will eventually vote the same, which will make them lose. In the last round, since Akiyama already voted no and they all know it, logically speaking, the thief would vote yes for a higher chance to win, and with this knowledge, if the other two colluded and tied the votes, unless Akiyama pulls this trick every time, in which it would look stupid and the best case scenario for him is a non-stop cycle of ties, it would eventually slip up. Of course, if he's going to do this every time, then it becomes obvious the girl and the non-thief are working together. So while this was smart, it really could've turned against him. I suppose on learning the girl and the non-thief are working together, he could do the same trick one last time and sway one of them to betray the other and share the money, but it's a risk for two or three rounds potentially.

But it's shown in the video that Akiyama and the woman were working together from the start, so this hypothetical situation wouldn't happen. Plus, working with Akiyama is much better than working with Etou (Non-thief) since she will have to split the money with whoever she teams up with, and Akiyama's strategy of her tricking Etou and Fukunaga is much more reliable than doing the split vote strategy and putting the game into a stalemate where eventually new methods must be made.

I don't know if they're working from the start, as I didn't watch the movie/series. From this clip though, it looks like they only colluded towards the end, with Akiyama giving her his name plate.
The girl needs to split the money now anyway. I suppose if Akiyama intended to continue, her winnings has doubled, assuming if she or Etou would have quit after winning.
The girl could've easily betrayed them all as well. If she casts two no votes for the other two and a yes vote for herself, she would still win. If she quit, she would get the same amount as working with Akiyama, who wants to continue, I suppose, but then working with Akiyama makes more sense as it'll take the target off her back. I'm just assessing from Akiyama's perspective though. What he did was smart, but it still could've backfired. After all, he can't guarantee the girl would work with him.

@@DanteLovesPizza I watched the show. Akiyama and the woman were working together from the start. Akiyama knew that Fukunaga would tell her to vote the same as him in order to stay in the game and take make everyone focus their suspicions on her instead of him, so he planned out the final trick with her before the game started in case Fukunaga was really the thief.
Also, in the show, Fukunaga and Etou only pass over their "Yes" cards to the woman so they can be assured that she won't make them vote for anything else. The video doesn't mention it.
Point is, Akiyama's move couldn't have backfired because he had already planned everything and promised to give the woman more than half of the prize money so that she could pay the drop-out fee and give the remainder to her teammates as per their contract. The woman would gain nothing from betraying Akiyama because his plan is more reliable and ends up getting her more money than if she worked with someone else or tried to win alone.

That's fair, I'm only commenting based on the information in the video.
Second point though, still not fool proof and now leaves a bit of confusion, again, probably because I didn't watch this. In the video, they say they intend to tie the game, now, if Fukunaga and Etou only hand her the yes cards, to avoid this kind of betrayal, they could've asked her to give them her yes card, and that way, she can't betray them. Also, why did they give her the yes card? According to their strategy, because she wants to advance, therefore she needs to be the winner, shouldn't they give her their no cards and take away her no card, which means she will win alone and she can only cast no votes for them with Akiyama's? What was the point of causing a tie if their intention was to let her win, so that she could split the winnings between other players and advance herself?
It still could have backfired. Like I said, if they had taken away her yes card, i.e. she only had the two yes cards from Fukunaga and Etou and her own no card, it will be forced to draw. This would still end up in a repetitive cycle with Akiyama constantly ending in a draw at best. If she refuses, it becomes obvious, so Akiyama could still be stuck, theoretically speaking.
