Lived there for nearly 5 years. It’s highly expensive. It’s NOT relatively affordable. There’s two HOAs, one for your home and the community (amenities, security, etc). The combined total over $900 now. Then there’s the additional and annoying mello-roos taxes over $3000 and a required transfer tax when buying or selling of $6000-21,000. It’s a haven for younger couples with new money, childless professionals and well to do retirees. Buying an older home or renting in Culver City is less expensive. The restaurants in Playa are mediocre and overpriced but the ambiance and vibes are good. Playa Vista is one of my top favorite places, it’s where I’d buy my dream home if I could afford it long term.
