  • Conceived and organized by Accademia Teatro alla Scala in collaboration with the POLIMI - Graduate School of Management and the Piccolo Teatro di Milano - Teatro d’Europa, the Master in Performing Arts Management aims to give young professionals a global perspective on the world of the performing arts, in order to couple cultural and artistic knowledge with economic and managerial skills.
    The course is completed with a guaranteed internship for each student at an internationally acclaimed cultural institution.
    The faculty is composed by the best professors and professionals of the sector: meet Marisa Vázquez-Shelly, Director of Private Philanthropy, Teatro Real.
    Her lecture in the Master is related to Sponsoring and Fundraising for the Performing Arts.
    About the professor:
    Although her academic background is in philology (Modern Languages degree, Westminster College, London) her career has revolved around cultural management. 2023 will mark 20 years working at Teatro Real in Madrid, first as director of Sponsorship, also directing Communication, Marketing and Protocol. Along those years she has contributed to the transformation of its funding model, from the creation of the sponsorship programme, to the consolidation of private patronage, in particular through the support of major donors who continue to increase, both in number and in financial contributions. ShehasalsotaughtpatronagecoursesatprestigiousuniversitiesinSpainandregularly participates in debates and round tables about management and culture. She is an invited professor in the Opera Management Course, since its creation 10 years ago by Opera Europa; and has been a guest lecturer in the Master's scheme offered by the Polytechnic University of Milan and the Accademia Teatro alla Scala.
