Master in Performing Arts Management 2024 - Amanda Saunders

Conceived and organized by Accademia Teatro alla Scala in collaboration with the POLIMI - Graduate School of Management and the Piccolo Teatro di Milano - Teatro d’Europa, the Master in Performing Arts Management aims to give young professionals a global perspective on the world of the performing arts, in order to couple cultural and artistic knowledge with economic and managerial skills.
The course is completed with a guaranteed internship for each student at an internationally acclaimed cultural institution.

About the professor:
"Since graduating in 1987 my career has been wholly within the charitable sector working in large organizations in receipt of public funding and with a reputation for excellence. On a personal level, I have found each of my roles rewarding and stimulating; I enjoy understanding organizations and being part of what makes them and their people, whether audience, artists, children or staff, flourish. I have experience of managing and recruiting Boards and being responsible for and influencing governance structures; I have built and led teams which consistently deliver above targets, with a reputation internally and externally for delivering the highest level of funding and service, operating with intelligence, integrity, creativity and maturity. Together we have influenced a culture of generosity and respect for funding and fundraisers, at the same time as enjoying a reputation for understanding and valuing the core business of the organization. I have first-hand experience of the full range of fundraising techniques; from membership to direct mail, from corporate sponsorship and high level events to major donor philanthropy. I understand the fundraising landscape and trends and am confident with charity and tax law. Alongside leading a strategy for successful fundraising and managing significant budgets and relationships, I input into my organizations at the highest level - strategically and practically, across most departments - and can represent a three year plan, annual financial budgets, artistic, educational, political, academic or social priorities in any given situation".
