Been looking into a Jetty Fishing setup (my American name for LRF), and this is going to spur me to action. The light line Japanese techniques always draw my attention too. (Biwa rig, Hover Stroll, Free Rig, etc)
It's so much fun Jason. We pretty much use the same gear as we do for the perch but adding a few metals/ jigs to your kit can put you on the mackerel, garfish and other species which go so well on the Light outfit. As you say there's plenty of rigs to choose from too! Let us know what you decide on!
I don't know why they call it light rock fishing, most of it seems to take place on piers, harbours and breakwaters, perhaps it should just be light sea fishing. I plan to attack the school bass in my local estuary with dropshot/Ned lures. Great stuff whatever you choose to call it.
