I was also concerned about the long-term wear of the joined tracks. I ended up buying the Milwaukee track saw. Milwaukee 55" track and the Makita 118" track so I don't need to join tracks together.
Great video with great information, I just ordered my first Marita track saw and i think i will be doing the storage detail you came up with, what size is the kaizen foam?
Much appreciated. I'm just trying to share what has helped me! I went with the 57 mm. Fastcap makes a good mount for the rails too! I switched over to those.
Hi and thanks for the post. I just ordered my Makita and was reading about the compatibility issues with blades. I noticed you are using Diablo blades with the Makita. As I understand, Diablo has a 5/8" arbor while Makita accepts 20mm. How do you get it to work? Thanks in advance.
How are those bubinga hooks holding up so far? The weak grain orientation at the bottom of each hook looks like they may break at some point if they get stressed. I hang my tracks vertically from the included holes from a 3/8 steel rod pounded into a board. They fit nicely in the dead space to the side of my garage door. I couldn’t be happier with the saw, you’re going to love it.
I have to baby the hooks and be mindful when I'm loading and unloading the tracks. I'll probably switch to something more sturdy soon. Woodcraft sells a decent product for like 15 bucks, so I'll be looking into that soon. I just did a set of kitchen cabinets with the saw though.. I love it!!

What happened with the zero clearance after you cut 45’
When I cut a 45 with my ts 75 the line still held
@@InTheGrainCreations thanks. Would you buy cordless or corded if you are given a choice now since you have used this saw now?
@@bklynwam I like having the cord because I plug it into my festool vacuum for great dust collection

Excellent video and great build. Did I hear you correctly to say you used MDF for the hooks and other parts of the hanging apparatus for the tracks?
I used some scrap bubinga for the hooks main parts all of which mounted to mdf
Is there a part number on the black plastic piece that came in the systainer box?
I don't remember, it was thrown away that day 🤔
@@InTheGrainCreations thanks for the reply. I might just have to do like you did and use the Kaisen foam instead.
@@zackmerrill8593 the foam is still holding up, plus it's nice to have everything all in one place
Are you also a Grand Rapidian?
I sure am!! Moved here 5 years ago... love it!
