I see everyone commenting about the rattling noises of the toys. The way it works is that the boy can can’t hear all the toy noises... he only only hears a beeping sound while they are all playing with the toys. He cannot hear what’s going on around him. The technician only does beeping sounds at first to adjust the volume level etc. That’s why you see him turning backwards each time the tech sends a sound. The boy is looking for the sound he hears. Once the volume is all adjusted then they will turn them on so that he can hear what’s around him. My daughter had cochlear implants at the same age.
Thanks for explaining this... I've had loads of comments about this as you can see and a lot of abusive ones about the staff and parents which I've had to remove. I already tried explaining this to people in the past on here but they seem to just ignore it and want to give their opinion which is almost always wrong. Thanks again! All the best! ;)
THis child has good concentration, and is co-operative in his play..... signalling when it is Dad's turn to use the slippery dip. This shows that he is socially advanced for two, despite being deaf.
Why am I crying? God bless him, he's too cute for words! He seemed overwhelmed, but I feel like that's expected at first. I can't even begin to imagine what it was like for him. Wish him all the best in life!
A friend had progressive hearing loss and, over the years, tried all kinds of hearing aids - he had cochlear implants done in his 50s and said they restored his hearing to near normal - he was very happy with the result.
I'm proud to live in the same town with Dr. Lippy, the inventor of the cochlear implant. He put the tubes in my son's ears; probably one of his last surgeries. I know we had the best that day!
Jane Wiery Sorry but the Cochlear is an Australian invention, conceived & developed at Monash University, Clayton Victoria Australia, give us some credit
I'm sure any sort of sound since he's never heard anything, is very disturbing... he doesn't even have a reference for not hearing. It's probably just an irritation at first.
I volunteered with an organization for hearing impaired children who received hearing aids. It was astounding and gratifying to see their reactions. My job as a volunteer was to interact with them for an hour in a structured setting like this so they could adjust to hearing everything. Their wonder and joy was so beautiful to witness. They wore the hearing aids for only a small amount of time each day, gradually increasing the time until they adjusted to their new reality. I would speak to them slowly and distinctly as they adjusted to actually hearing language instead of ‘seeing’ language by reading lips or deciphering letters and words. It’s actually training a dormant area of the brain. Quite fascinating and gratifying to be helping them. ❤❤
I think they should put the toys away for a while. Let the mom or dad speak softly to the kid, one person at a time. Even as a viewer I couldn't stand that noise.. poor little boy, its too much for him to take.
It's cause the sound's are new too the baby , so being around things that he knows and he is used to will make him feel comfortable , the toys are a good thing , other wise he would actually freak out alot.
Although I’m a hearing individual I’m proficient in ASL American Sign Language I have many deaf and hard of hearing friends. This is such an amazing thing to witness thank you!!!!
There is no question of who the proudest, and happiest Daddy this day is 😄 Your little boy is so beautiful, he’s just perfect. I thought he was so cute when he was playing. He studied intently so carefully to see how each piece worked in connection with the other. He then gave one piece to you, and one to the tech. The look on his face was priceless, evidently Dad you did the slide right because his little face lit up, and he used both fists like, YEAH!! AlRIGHT YOU DID IT DAD!!! and the tech also got his congratulatory fist pump. He’s so darn cute, it shows he definitely has awesome parents. Which this world needs millions more of. From watching him I can also tell he is highly intelligent. You’ll have to keep your running 🏃♀️ shoes on Papa 😊
In response to the hateful comments... You do all realise that when an implant is switched on it is done so at a very low volume and it's tested using beeps (see the black cable connected to it)... I guess it's comforting to know the world is full of experts on the topic though!
Even with hearing aids they start at a low volume. The child has never heard before and at first it is a shock he doesn't know what's happening. They will slowly ajust him and he will be fine. I had to learn to ajust to my hearing aids.
People should lower the volume on their headphones. Where is that unbearable rattling everybody is talking about? xD And the baby is cute. I hope he's doing well :D
The toys are loud, but I think part of that has to do with the camera used to film and the microphone. It is very sensitive. I can't imagine coclear implants turning on for the first time! I've done the hearing aid thing, but I've always been able to hear, just with a moderate hearing loss. Poor little guy.
I'm so touched,I do not know what to say. That is one of the good things the advance technology gave us now those deaf babies can hear so they can avoid becoming mute
Yeah I was reading all the comments on how the cluttering noises were too much to hearing viewers and they concluded its not the right way to fit an implant. They thought they knew better than the experts in the field how to fit a cochlear implant. It's crazy.
Am I the only one that is yelling TO MUM AND DAD JUST TALK TO HIM ALL THAT BANGING IS JUST CONFUSING. OTHER HAND he is such a gorgeous lil man. Awesome sauce!!!💙💙💙💙💙💙
This ggorgeous baby, is like me, we don't like unwanted sound, especially if it's loud.... I pray that God, guides everyone involved, so that this little man is able to hear. Now, seriously and jokes apart, I think that even for a little one, hearing for the first time, must be shocking, especially if it's too loud.
This is so amazing however ladies and gentlemen the moment you put that hearing device on those babies start talking speak to them call them by their name speak to them allow mom and dad to speak so that they can hear their voice that baby could here all along however none of you were speaking so start speaking and for them speak loudly if you will please thank you so much
Poor him because he doesn’t want to use it. Maybe he’s not ready to use it. and maybe he can use the sign language better and it helps to communicate with you.
Wow so many critics lol. Maybe his father didn't talk because his father is deaf also? No one thought about that huh like maybe its genetic. Everyone is an expert lol.
korijamaal beckett ohh brother isn’t that the truth? The little guy was having a great time playing. It’s curious as to how people can watch the same video and come away with nonsense. The poor baby stuff. The only time I saw him object, was when the tech cleared some toys away, but quickly got engrossed with the other toys, he was so cute and having a good time.
@korijamaal beckett well said there matey! I couldn't believe it as I was flicking through these comments! I watched the video in awe and with a big smile on my face whilst thinking how amazing a moment this was and how happy I was for this little boy and his family. I expected the comments to be something similar to what I was thinking....but geeze how wrong was I! To many critics here and not enough just plain old love 👍❤
Dukeofnuyork A1 Sad but true... the sick comments I've had to delete off this video is unreal... I wonder how many of those arguing that this is wrong wear glasses/contacts or have had laser eye surgery to correct their vision? = hypocrites
Absolutely. I hate that nonsense. If the deaf people who say that crap were able to hear from birth, they would have a different opinion. Hearing people know what it is like to hear and not hear. Deaf people only know what it's like to not hear. They are missing a huge part of the equation.
You people talking loud all together & making all that noise moving all those toys around on the table is too much to handle. You are causing an overload.
Could these therapists not be more frantic?! What about a calm environment people? Poor kid is freaked out by all the grownups running around and making a racket.

Omg tears 😢 my neighbors kids had one those. He was a very happy child. Loerd thank you☺🤗🤗✌
THis child has good concentration, and is co-operative in his play..... signalling when it is Dad's turn to use the slippery dip. This shows that he is socially advanced for two, despite being deaf.
What a sweet boy. He looks exactly like Daddy. I hope his hearing device works out well for him.
Why am I crying? God bless him, he's too cute for words! He seemed overwhelmed, but I feel like that's expected at first. I can't even begin to imagine what it was like for him. Wish him all the best in life!

My husband got his at age 76 after losing his hearing that same year, it works !
To the scientists and engineers who made this possible congratulations you’re the heroes of this adventure make it smaller and better

They is he
Trends he udu udu
He seems to be such a smart young man. And looks just like his father. Best of luck in the future.
I'm sure any sort of sound since he's never heard anything, is very disturbing... he doesn't even have a reference for not hearing. It's probably just an irritation at first.
What a beautiful little boy! I hope he soon adapted comfortably to his implant.
Wow. So much stimulation. He’s a cutie.
He wasn't use to it, a normal reaction for the first time, God bless you baby!

sukiakka agreed. They let the child hear for the first time, then create a cacophony of noise. Experts? Hmmm.
okay doctor.
I totally agree with you, its too much for him to take.
Ya, can't they have noiseless toys like plush
Although I’m a hearing individual I’m proficient in ASL American Sign Language I have many deaf and hard of hearing friends.

Also a heightened sense of one when you lose one of the other
If he never heard any sound before, how could he possibly process it? It would be so strange to the young boy.
Thank you Australia for inventing the Cochlear Implant
So adorable brought joy to my heart .
Bless, he's having none of it. What is this outrageous, noisy thing on my head?! I'm sure he was fine with it after a few weeks.
That must be one of the most rewarding jobs in the world.

To much for the babie..he need a soft sounds
I can hear and that was to much for me
God bless him, hope he's still doing well ❤
A beautiful intelligent child!!
In America parents pay 50,000.00 to 80,000.00 of their own money for hearing aids like this. Be happy.
Upa Belfast 😂😂😂 , this warms my heart wee darling 💜💜
beautiful child.
Such a very good boy!!! ❤️

To the negative commenters below: these people know what they are doing.

She is making so much noise cleaning up the toys!
I am cutting onions right now. Sorry, but it is impossible not too. Great vid.
Ahhhh..sweet little thing has to come out of his very own quiet little world now..
Thankfully, for innumerable reasons.😊
Great work dad!
Too many different noise at once.Bur it is amazing.

Can they make any more noise...my God.
I wonder why the dad doesn't talk to the boy?
I don't blame him for removing them with all that noise. I had to remove my ear buds. Yipes
Hope he made it
You can tell he starts hearing it is TO LOUD and that is why he gets fussy
Seems to me with all the stuff going on in this video... the kid overwhelmed.
What a miracle!!!!!
He's like Daddy touch my ear there is something going on.
Какой прекрасный малыш! Счастья тебе!
God bless.
God bless you, I love you cute
Oh dear a lot of rattles for his little ears to hear......
This is so amazing however ladies and gentlemen the moment you put that hearing device on those babies start talking speak to them call them by their name speak to them allow mom and dad to speak so that they can hear their voice that baby could here all along however none of you were speaking so start speaking and for them speak loudly if you will please thank you so much
Mucho ruido hicieron con que escuchara a su mama o papá.
Brilliant
It’s too noisy for him. It will take him time to,adjust to the noise
hard telling what he hears? Maybe it is nothing but noises. He seemed to be bothered with the ear part and he didn't seem happy at all.
wow, so many people and noises and distractions
Poor him because he doesn’t want to use it. Maybe he’s not ready to use it. and maybe he can use the sign language better and it helps to communicate with you.
Hmmm, didn't seem to be too impressed with sound.
Wow so many critics lol. Maybe his father didn't talk because his father is deaf also? No one thought about that huh like maybe its genetic. Everyone is an expert lol.
Thanks, everyone is so quick to judge without knowing the facts.

@jayp how is your gorgeous nephew doing now btw? x
The father is talking with the mother. So why that comment? It is very sad to see how terrible much noise they all made (except for the parrents).
There are sick twisted people who would deny this child the ability to hear arguing crap like "deaf culture". Child abuse.
Dukeofnuyork A1 Sad but true... the sick comments I've had to delete off this video is unreal... I wonder how many of those arguing that this is wrong wear glasses/contacts or have had laser eye surgery to correct their vision? = hypocrites

They are making way too much noise with toys.
Tidy up!... pulls hearing aid out. Typical child. Ha
Why didnt his dad talk to him?
because he is mute
at 2:48 ....I think the father says "what's that? what's that?" to his son so I don't think he's mute but he's generally poor at interacting tho
Maybe dad was used to using sign language and needed a bit of time to adapt himself.
Because the women were nattering on enough for the whole team!
Because the boy only hears a beep, not the voices
JayP I hope your boy is able to hear better now. Us hear folk take our hearing for granted.
Way to much commotion going on and loudness. Maybe light music to start and soft voices.
There is too much noise
Deben de tratar de haces menos ruidos a la vez es muy fuerte primera vez. Que le hablen sus padres . Santo que ruido
oh lets bring out all these hard plastic toys that make horrific sounds
What a dumb bunch of people making so much noise !!! Traumatic for the boy...Years from then, did he abandon the hearing aids ???!
Newborn twins talking
You people talking loud all together & making all that noise moving all those toys around on the table is too much to handle. You are causing an overload.
Are these people amateurs or what???? This was horrible! ~ what's wrong with alll that frkn noise noise noise everywhere jeez wth was that??????
Could these therapists not be more frantic?! What about a calm environment people? Poor kid is freaked out by all the grownups running around and making a racket.
These episodes are usually pleasant to watch. Not this time
This "profesionals" should be tran how to handle situation like this !!!
If yall stop BANGING the damn toys he’ll be okay! 😡
