What I loved about this episode is it felt like a Balder's gate episode. I see SO MANY games where people play commanders from a set, but their decks are just filled with regular cards. So many of the cards we see are dnd-flavoured and it added SO MUCH to this video for me over just another game of seeing the same staple cards.
TO be fair, the dungeon deck automatically NEEDS to run a lot of cards for dungeon triggers, but I was really excited to see the dnd flavour in everyone else's decks too@@DeckedOutEDH
At 22:47, I feel like Peachy should have attacked NerdGirl again during the 2nd combat to trigger another 8 damage to Veggie and Vi. Vi would have been at 2 life and then if Peachy would have cast Rakdos Charm on her turn, Vi would have died to having 8 creatures.
Looking at the deck list, it didn’t do its “thing” because the deck doesn’t really do anything. Even best case scenario, if left entirely alone (unlikely) to setup and begin to draw and cast most of his deck, it still wouldn’t be overly threatening. It’s one of those decks that just kind of spins its wheels in the mud.
Peachy could have annihilated the dude if she swung both times at him and wiped his board. Nerdgirl could have also tapped his commander so that he would have had to block with more of his important pieces and deny him value
It’s the fate of red players, unfortunately. You put your foot on the gas, someone has to deal with you somehow, and most casual games only have player removal as the answer.
I have a Vhal//Raised by Giants brew and an Ellen Harbreeze//Cultist brew I've made some progress on, with the former working on activated abilities like foretell, channel, cycle, equip, and ninjutsu, and the latter making references to different commander sets. I haven't sleeved either of them up yet, but they have some nifty tricks I'm interested in trying... eventually. I've actually built and sleeved up Varis (Silverymoon Ranger), as well as Safana (Calimport Cutthroat)//Guild Artisan, with the former being dungeons and elves, and the latter being dungeons and treasures.
One thing is for the initiative deck which I also have is ALWAYS go left. The way to win with it is to turbo for the 5 loss left to target opponent. It’s the only way to play it.

Every time someone says Imoen wrong (it was said correctly in the opening! I was floored) I imagine her sneaking up behind them and yelling "Heya! It's me, Imoen!' after Backstabbing them for double damage (I think someone at some point made a mod where Imoen tries to do this immediately after Candlekeep in the first Baldur's Gate). I'm honestly starting to wonder if I should be running Steel Hellkite as a piece of versatile removal... How does it compare to Bladegriff Prototype I wonder?

Nice and refreashing Commander choices and fun to watch, but the Dungeon Deck. I dislike that mechanic. It's always 1 Player who is playing and the other 3 are watching for 2 hours.
You can do a lot when you cheat with triggers. You gotta resolve your triggers before casting sorcery speed my man. It started off just a little odd maybe some shortcutting no problem. But then he just started abusing it for no reason. Can't be shortcutting at that point in the game. So disgusting. Is this why the video is so late?

Terrific game! Blink has become my least favorite theme to play against. I think I would rather play against Tergrid than blink 😂
Yea, blink play patterns can be frustrating. The dungeon focus made it a bit more entertaining, but it still takes up such a large amount of time.
