Vijay hazre and virat kholi both in Adelaide one 1948 and 2014 respectively. India lost both matches. 2014 is imprinted in my head as it was post 5-6th stump kholi.

To answer your question as to what other matches need to be in this 25
The top has to be VVC Laxman's 281 at Eden Garden for the way it changed Indian cricket forever. It's to me the Ramayana of Indian Cricket
Vijay Hazare against Australia (Adelaide ,1948,Gavaskar against Pakistan.( 1978 karachi), Kohli against Australia ( Adelaide 2014).
Sunil Gavaskar Nov 1978 against Pakistan , Virat Kohli Dec 2014 against Australia
1978- Sunil Gavaskar and 2014- Virat Kohli
Virat kohli against Australia Adelaide. Virats first match as captain . A stellar 4th innings knock but we just crumbled after 240 odd for 2 with Vijay’s 99 I think .
In1978 , it was Sunil gavaskar against Pakistan in Karachi.
Sunil Gavaskar and Virat Kohli faced the same fate as Andrew Strauss :)
Sunil Gavaskar 1978 vs Pakistan
Virat Kohli-2014 vs Australia
Where Rohit Sharma photo on background captain first always?? Sir
Kudos to Kevin Peterson for landing in Mumbai that year
The two greats from 1978 and 2014 are Sunil Gavaskar and Virat Kohli respectively
2014 -> Virat Kohli (Adelaide test), 1978 -> Sunil Gavaskar (Karachi Test)
The "dark souls" is what I call defining worst people using softest words possible. Shows how pure "Harsha bhogle"'s soul is. Long live man

Only Harsha can baffle us with audaciously crafty ideas like this when others are finding it difficult to conjure novelty in cricket commenty.
His voice can lift up spirit even of a dead!! ❤❤
1978: Sunil Gavaskar at Kolkata against WI
2014: Virat Kohli against AUS, 1st test Adelaide - captaincy debut
It was Sunil Gavaskar (111 & 137) in 1978 vs Pakistan and Virat Kohli (115 & 141) in 2014 vs Australia.
Fun Fact: Another Indian batting great did this in 1948, that was Vijay Hazare (116 & 145) vs Australia
In 1978, It was Sunny Gavaskar scoring 107 and 182 against West Indies. But the match ended in a draw. In 2014, Virat Kohli scored 115 and 141 against Aussies. Unfortunately we lost the match.
Answer -
1978 - Sunil Gavaskar

Both played a remarkable innings but ended on the wrong side
Watched the entire 5 days at the vintage chepauk stadium amongst the noisy Barmy Army. With Harmison, Anderson, Flintoff, Swann.. This match was magical in all ways.

Gavasksr in 1978 - Pakistan
goosebumps @2:30 when he mentioned 'the pictures from Mumbai were chilling, foreigners had been targeted and England'. And way too many thereafter. Harsha's storytelling skills are REMARKABLE. So much to learn from in this video.
Sunil Gavaskar against Pakistan in Karachi in 1978 and Virat Kohli at Adelaide Oval in 2014.😮
This will be a fun series to watch. In tests, I assume Adelaide 03, Kolkata 01, Chennai 01, Perth 08, Melbourne 20, and Brisbane 21 will be on the list. Perhaps win at Durban in 10 as well. ODI’s 83 and 11 finals, 07 and 24 T20I WC finals. MCG 22 T20I, maybe 03 WC Ind vs Pak. Then there are OG test victories in England and WI. Sharjah win in 98. Lots of options.
Sunil Gavaskar in 1978
Virat Kohli in 2014
Losing a test after an each innings century 😢😮
Answer: 1978- Sunil Gavaskar
2014- Virat Kohli
The answer to the quiz question is:
* Sunil Gavaskar (111 & 137) against Pakistan in 1978.
* Virat Kohli (115 & 141) against Australia at Adelaide in 2014.
But the first time it happened for India was when the great Vijay Hazare scored 116 & 145 in a losing cause against Australia at Adelaide in 1948.
2014: Virat Kohli, 1978: Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar in 1978
Virat Kohli in 2014
It was the first test match in India's tour of Australia
No Dhoni
Virat Kohli captaining and coming from disasterous England tour.
Give the hope for India to defeat Austraila in Australia
Yes we did not succeed there but the era started there.
Virendra Sehwag got MOM in that match despite Sachin,Strauss and Collingwood getting 100.
I was lucky to witness the fantastic test.. Sehwag, Yuvi & Sachin. Barmy Army were silenced 🔕.
I'm sure he is modern gate
None other than Virat2014
And little master Sunil gavaskar 1978
In 1978 SunilGavaskar. Not born at the time
But in 2014 Virat Kohli in his first test as Indian captain at Adelaide. Indianlost by just 48 Runs

I don't know the 1978 one, but I think Rahul Dravid in 2014 against England
Sunil gavaskar 1978
Virat Kohli -2014
In 1978 Sunil Gavaskar did two occasion Against the West Indies at Kolkata (Drawn) & against the Pakistan at Karachi (we lost this match).
In 2014 Virat Kohli did it against Australia at Adelaide (we lost this match). Fun fact even David warner also scored century in both the inning in the same match.
Sunil Gavaskar 1978
Virat Kohli 2014
1978 - Sunil Gavaskar against Pakistan in Pakistan.
2014 - Virat Kohli against Australia in Australia
Gavaskar in 1978 vs Pakistan in Karachi and Kohli in 2014 vs Australia in Adelaide…I watched the 2014 match live…India should have won that match and drew the series 1-1 😢..that was the first test match in which Kohli captained
Sunil Gavaskar in Karachi 1978 and Virat Kohli in Adelaide 2014
I still remember Andrew flintoff was continuously sledging with Yuvraj Singh when came to bat. It was one of Sachin's great innings. During post match presentation ceremony he said this victory was truly dedicated to those who lost their life in 26/11 attacks which took place in Mumbai. Sehwag had given a good start and then Sachin & Yuvraj played an incredible innings of their life.
Sunil Gavaskar in 1978 at Karachi scored 100’s in both innings and still India lost the match.
In 2014, Virat Kohli did the same at Adelaide only to receive the same result.
Sunil Gavaskar Vs Pakistan in 1978
Virat Kohli Vs Australia in 2014
Wow, this is one of the reasons why I've subscribed to this channel. Amazing storytelling 👌
Sunil Gavaskar in 1978 against Pakistan and Virat Kohli 2014 against Australia
I know about 2014 adelade test virat kohli. 1978 i guess sunil gavaskar
Sir it would have been nice if you can put Rohit Sharma’s photo in background along with two other ICC trophies winning captain.
Mr Sunil Gavaskar 1978 Karchi test against Pakistan & Virat Kohali against Australia
Learnt from the history of Sunil Gavaskar and the great heroic passionate style of mindset almost got us the win by Virat Kohli 🫡
Kohli , climbing the moutain of tons and topped the ODI tons of all time
@harsha as a digital marketer I am closely observing your content strategy and engagement campaign. I was disappointed so far however I feel this campaign gonna fruit you good results. All the very best.
Harsha.. nice emotional touch to a cricketing story.. not many can do this with ease and finesse. You are a natural at these moments... The answer is easy.. Sunil Gavaskar vs Pakistan ( listened to radio commentary and very unhappy with the way Bedi bowled) + Kohli at Adelaide.
Wow! This seems to be a series I did not know I needed! Great work Harsha sir!
Rahul Dravid scored centuries in both innings at Hamilton in 1998 still India lost. Second one is Virat Kohli scored centuries in both innings at Adelaide still India lost
Virat Kohli in 2014
Sunny Gavaskar 1978
There was 2 test matches that i missed watching at Chepauk , Ind chasing Pak and losing by a whisker in 1999 and this test match where Tendulkar and Yuvraj chased the scores. I can take the heartbeat of the 2nd but not the first one. I watched and cried when Ind lost hey I was studying 12th std at that time.
Thank Harsha for bringing up this wonderful episode and eager to watch the other 24 as well
The answer to question is Sunil Gavaskar vs pakistan and Virat Kohli vs Australia.. century in both innings and end up in losing side
I still remember that game. We were hopping that India will not be able to chase it down and it will be a draw. But the chase was just awesome. That finishing short from Sachin and Yuvi carring him in his arms still comes with pure visuals..❤
Thank you Harsha for picking this match, it was really an emotional moment when sachin dedicated his century to jawans and mumbai
Imp point: India should be thankful to KP for not cancelling the tour, story could hve gone in other directions post that.
