I’m a Phillies fan. I have no vested interest in the A’s situation. But Manfred’s petty attack on loyal A’s fans tells you a lot about how the baseball establishment views the fans.
manfred was so smug in that press conference basically telling a's fans im taking your team away and there isnt a damn thing you can do about it.
@@Rebel-eq7ulbut the A’s have the budget of a Chinese sweat shop
Thank you from Oakland. A’s fans are grateful for your support.
I hope it’s not too late to reverse this wrong given that almost everyone has pointed out how disrespectful and dishonest this relocation is. Shame. They have no shame. Never knew much about Manfred before. Now I know he is f-ing creep.
Fisher has made the A’s moribund and wants to blame Oakland and the fans. And Manfred is the most useless tool in the shed. Absolutely disgraceful that this has happened. Thank you for making more people aware of this situation 🙏
Totally Oakland's fault.
@@RobertRatliffoh that explains it. For
A minute I thought it was Vegas.
Well...Oakland city council lost other teams
I’m not emotionally involved with the A’s… hard-core Giants fan. I have a great deal of empathy for their players and fans what’s happening across the bay is totally outrageous. I heard Manfred’s comments about the reverse boycott while I was driving, my God, I was shocked, stunned. This man must feel like he’s bulletproof… He’s smart enough to know that was an outrageous statement… But he did it anyway! It was like he was giving the finger to the Oakland fan base. Wow.
Welll....but its true..Oakland city council is cheap..
@@michaeltamares7974that’s the narrative
Thank you so much for your support
It feels just as bad cause they’re taking battle of the bay away from us too
Bud Selig deserves a lot of blame for this situation, Joe Lacob was going to buy the team, and he sabotaged it and had Lew Wolff and Fisher get the team. It's almost like MLB only wants the Giants in the Bay Area
They do
Yeah. I take myself for example. Ima Yankees fan on the west coast. I don’t care about the A’s or the giants. I’ll go to a A’s game if it made sense (it doesn’t due to many reasons) but the giants territory crap is ridiculous. But that’s the mlb and giants
Sabotage seems to be the word that describes this whole ordeal!!!
Lee Wolff was a college buddy of Selig.
It makes no sense wanting just Giants in the Bay Area! Bay Area is huge market that can support two teams
This is blatant contempt of the fanbase and should not be tolerated.
Remember this is the man who called the World Series trophy "just a hunk of metal" ugh
Tim said “my expectations of you were low, but holy f*ck” 💀
55 acres on the waterfront that includes retail, commercial space and housing around the stadium. 400 mill secured in funding….but now 9 acres on leased land??? This is far from over.
It’s time for the fans to take away MLB’s antitrust exemption.
I’ve not seen such contempt for the public since John Gotti.
I don't understand being surprised by Manfred's actions. This is consistent with the way he has handled every issue in the league since becoming Commissioner.
I was at the reverse boycott. It was surprising in how electrifying and iconic it felt. I have a strong feeling this will go down as pivotal moment in baseball history. Manfred’s so deep in his narrative while a whole other beautiful thing happened on Oakland. that’s what was shocking to me.
I will never spend another dime on the MLB. Fish, Rob, and Dave couldn't be more explicit about giving the finger to fans. Don't forget about the veiled threats about two weeks ago to the Brewers coming from Puppet Rob.
Sadly yup
And now the D-Backs
Oakland should have lost their team years ago. Totally Oaklands fault.
@@RobertRatliff No it isn't and you don't know anything about the case so be quiet and stop spreading and repeating false narratives
@@splashnskillz37 you will never see another major league baseball team in Oakland again. Would imagine the A's cannot run out of town fast enough.
The ballpark purposed in Oakland on the oceanfront is much better than the ugly bubble they want to build on the dessert sand. What a shame not a A’S fan but feel for their fans
Rob Manfraud is a disgrace to the beautiful American pastime that is baseball
💯 American baseball is becoming garbage! What more softball rules are coming in?
Umm. Oakland city council deserves 50% if the blame.. plus,, Oakland is a sh$%thole.. MLB was looking for and excuse to leave that city. Sorry , but that dump of a city won't even be considered for an expansion team
Manfred is literally a disgrace & as the face of the owners so are they Period, Full Stop!
Enough is enough ugh
Umm. Oakland city council get 50% of blame.. If i was commissioner,, I'd call the city out and say,,"Whats taking so long to get a stadium!?".. All these local analysts getting so emotional.. Get over it!! Oakland is a dump..
If owners vote for this, there also voting for a team to be homeless from 2025 thru '28... never mind whatever happens for the 2024 season.
If they vote? Every single one obviously want it.
Manfred is a weasel.
Yes but he is employed by the owners & only does exactly what they want. Put blame on them as well!
Umm. But he's right.. Oakland is a wasteland.. Have u seen that place?
@@michaeltamares7974 So was where the Giants now play which was totally rehabilitated simply by not allowing the team to move & so building the new ballpark there. So...............
I think both the A’s and the city of Oakland are the reason why the A’s are going to Vegas. Fans are always the one that end up being hurt the most because teams are seen as public assets when teams are private businesses and are operated as such.
There is a lot of finger pointing going on. It's very simple, this ownership and the previous A's ownership requested help from the local and state governments for decades (not just the past couple of years). Clark County and the State of Nevada did in 8 weeks what those California government entities couldn't do in more than 20 years. Everyone needs to stop bashing the wrong people.
It's not the fans, it’s not the Commissioner, it's not the current A’s ownership, it wasn't the previous A’s ownership, it is not even the current City of Oakland administration; it is Alameda County, the previous City of Oakland administrations and the State of California. The Warriors, Raiders and now A's have one thing in common, they were all dealing with the same governmental agencies to improve their facilities, but it didn't happen for decades. Could all three major league franchises be wrong, and the City of Oakland, the County of Alameda & the State of California be right in playing "hard ball" with each other? Not likely.
Fisher invested more the $100 Mil. in the research for development, in good faith, to settling at the Howard Terminal site, but the clock just kept on ticking. By the time the new Mayor took office, it was already too late, the A's had already privately thrown in the towel in California, because of too many setbacks and wasted time in the past 8 years. MLB was going to stop their revenue sharing if they didn't have a solid site in place by the end of this year, so the quick approvals that came from the progressive State of Nevada (far less RED tape) proved to be the answer.
Don't fall for the hype of who’s at fault, place blame where the blame should be. Again, the previous administrations for The City of Oakland, the County of Alameda and the State of California should learn from a quote, from the late, great Vin Scully, who would say during his broadcast on a day the Dodgers were committing a bunch of errors on the field, "We Met The Enemy, And The Enemy Is Us".
Is there anything in the so called way that baseball is run that says the commissioner should not be the head cheerleader and bus driver in moving a team out. Unilaterally waiving the relocation fee…should be stopped.
The problem is the city of Oakland. You can't fix the problem by changing ownership because any new owner will also want to leave the city. The team will increase in value just by leaving.
Oakland will not get a new expansion team. It is too poor, too crime ridden, too declining to warrant an MLB presence. San Jose was your shot to keep the team in the area. But the Giants put paid to that.
So blame the Giants. I guarantee they are happy with this outcome.
People like to blame everything on Oakland and don’t get me wrong they’ve been bad but Fisher couldn’t get anything done in Fremont either. He gave up before there was a citywide vote because of a couple hundred protestors. MLB should’ve realized Oakland wasn’t progressing and should’ve opened San Jose 10 years ago. Yes Oakland has terrible leadership but San Jose would’ve got a stadium built. I live in San Jose and the thinking here is so different than Oakland. The site where A’s wanted to build is right next to Caltrain station and Sharks arena. Baseball has terrible leadership that sticks with this unnecessary territory rights. San Jose is an hour away from San Francisco while Oakland is 15 minutes. Isn’t being further away better?
I think these comments (and the whole situation) go down with taking the all-star game away from Atlanta as the most petty and bad move Manfred/the owners have made.
"winning" the warriors left oakland gtfoh
If I was Manfred I would be pissed too. Oakland just does not get it.
Why everyone salty?? Oakland is a dump to play in....lousy facilities... warriors, raiders, seals,,A's left.. Manfred may sound heartless....but its a business...and Oakland city council gets at least 50% of blame
Oakland deserves to be belittled
It wouldn't matter if there was new ownership....no one in mlb or the fans won't admit this. ..but people wonder why the move??? Umm..dont mean to be harsh,,,,but there's no new stadium,,, and Oakland is a sh#$thole.
Oakland and cailfornia failed miserably. Only one to blame is yourselves. MLB does not want baseball im Oakland. The city is drastically going downhill. All the fault is Oaklands fault.
The owner is an ass but the government that let this happen is the problem. Don't tell me this had to happen.
Its not the government ugh
lol oakland secured more money for the A's than vegas is offering.
@@drumagus2258 1) yes. Public money for "the billionaire". The horror. Even worse, these were grants that didn't need to be paid back 2) NONE of it is for the building of the ballpark. All of it is for infrastructure to make Howard Terminal more than a parking lot and some train tracks. Oh, and raise it 6 feet so it wouldn't flood. 3) The City admitted it was still $300M short of what it believed it needed and had exhausted every bit of free money it could get from the State and Feds. LOL indeed.
@@JustMeELC go ask the warriors and Raiders
I didn't hear a diss.
You weren't listening then 🙄
Might want to see a doctor & have your hearing checked
Well thats because you are stupid
What diss?? He was speaking the truth..Oakland is a sh#$thole
Oakland needs to be taken to task. Oakland lost all three of its teams in a very short period of time. That’s astonishing. All three. So its the owners? All three? The common denominator is….Oakland. Not the citizens. Not the plot of land. It’s the politicians.
Manfred is Bourbon slurping drunk
Is it just me, or did Robert just made at least 9 owners say “IM VOTING NO”. And the A’s will stay in OAKLAND?
I don't get it, wat do u mean?
@@sethrosellini3576 i’ve seen alot of videos of beat writers and on jomboy media. Saying that alot of owners are not pleased with Fishers situation and its bad for business. This cocksuckaa basically just finished opening the can of beans
