Great video sir. I have a Chief Dark Horse that I ride on my RUclips channel. I am considering upgrading in the next month to the Chieftain Dark Horse and was wondering what the Ride Command system was like - you answered that and then some! Thank you for helping make my decision easy :)

I traded up from a 2014 to the 2017 because of Ride Command! It is truly one of the best features on the bike. I especially like the navigation window when I am on back roads. I can actually see what is coming over the hills in front of me!

Good info. Wonder how this would have looked on a Victory if Polaris kept it around.

Jimbo, I have to say I enjoyed your video, very informative. I have just purchased a 2018 Roadmaster and have been looking through all the different videos to acquaint myself with the Ride Command. I think I have it down with just one question. No one seems to refer to this. The USB port that is in the front compartment, can that be used to play music you have on a USB stick or is it just a data port? Thank you in advance for any information you can send me.

I have used it to play music from my phone. the USB jump drive should work. I don’t have any music on my usb drives, so I’ll try it and see what happens. it won’t hurt anything to try, so if you do try it before I get a chance to respond, please let us know how it went!

@@OhioJimbo Jim, since my question the weather here in the northeast finally turned nice and I was able to get my bike and enjoy some riding with it. I have put a selection of music on a USB stick and plugged it in. It does identify the stick and the music will play through the command center. Thanks for getting back to me and thank you for the tutorial of the command center......ride safe.

How do you change the ride command background/wall paper.. I see when i hit the center/display power button, it shows the background, but i cannot figure out how to upload an image.

To the best of my knowledge, you can change the configuration of the screen, but not the content (images) for Ride Command on 2017-2019 products. If you discover a way to accomplish this, I am sure that others would want to know! I will look deeper as well and see what I can dig up!

With the bluetooth or USB connections, you can grab the feed from your smart phone. I do that with mine and it permits using ALL of your music apps on your phone like Pandora, iTunes or even RUclips playlists!

How difficult is it to fill with gas? It looks like a tight fit between the filler neck and the fairing.

Not difficult at all. I do turn the wheel to the left when I stop to fill up, but I've done that with every bike that has a side feed fuel cap.

OhioJimbo Hern Thanks. I’ll be adding a Roadmaster to my Vision and Wing riding experiences in about 2 months.
      Rubber down.

Your "volume up and down" explanation was wrong. You use the round pad farthest to the left for that, the buttons you pressed are to navigate Up and Down within the RC system menu's.
