I took my first ride on a touring bike with a fairing a few weeks ago. Harley Ultra. I will never buy a bike without a fairing again lol. I’m hooked. I’m 36 with a bad back so it’s time for me to switch to a rolling couch 👍🏼
I demo the 2018 roadmaster with the wife on the back and I'm 5'6 I like it it's a Cadillac on 2 wheels city was smooth riding when we hit the interstate it took off. Then the leader let us open it up very smooth at really high speeds 😉 that and I forgot the wife was back there she was so quiet plus there's so much room
As luck would have it here in so cal, Indian were at two different dealerships on two consecutive weekends. So I was able to spend three days until closing riding every bike they had. I’m 5’4” with 29 inch inseam so I’m vertically challenged for sure. I own a sport touring bike that I ride 7 days a week. I’m here to tell you with the exception of the Ducati Multistrada the RM was one Of the most incredible bikes I have every ridden hands down. Sure the shift lever and kickstand were far to reach but those can be fixed. The balance and maneuverability whether it be low-speed or high-speed was jaw dropping. I’ve ridden the 2018 gold wing 4 times and it doesn’t even come close. A bike that size should not be able to do what it does. I would ride that bike every day in town or out of town it’s that good. My least favorite was the scout. Stiffly sprung and uncomfortable as hell, but that’s just me. All I can say is that for someone my size the RM Was insanely easy to ride.
I’m on both toes at stops but because the multi is so much lighter than mine it’s not bad at all. I also wear thicker boot soles that makes a difference
Hey, may I ask? The top box (luggage bag) on the bike, canning temporarily remove it every now and again if I wish to? Or is it there permanently? Sorry for the dull question. I'm new to this motorcycle world.
The trunk is very easy to take off but a right pain to put back on personally i would leave it on unless you have to remove for maintenance, if it is weight you're looking to lose the the side panniers are much easier and together weigh more than the top box.
Thay make a science of building bad windscreens. Five six and buffeting means Fuck you for buying something we've named road and wanting to use it on the interstate
Officer: License and registration. (opens the dashboard) Officer: wait. Is that a dashboard on the bike..? Your free to go. xD No seriously though, awesome video. And a great bike
@@DanDanTheFireman lol Yeah I bet. I sat on one at my local Indian dealer and immediately jumped off. I'm 5'5 and was struggling to get on. lol. My dad was there and asked if I liked any of it. my response? "I like the sound of the bike" lol.
Pretty disappointing as someone who took 1 minute to read down through the features of this bike watches a review video to learn more, only to find out they all ready know more about the bike than the guy on the bike. 🤨
I would like this bike a lot more if it didn't have the huge front fender. they should do like the Chieftain and have the classic with the big fender and the rest with normal fender.
Horrible review. You know nothing of the bike. How do you not know the windshield goes up and down. Plus it has sport mode for in town riding. Next time learn about the bike before riding it.
Nah m8, eco( you might call it rain mode) cos i am in the UK, for in town riding, normal for cruising and sport to keep you awake while you fall asleep in that armchair seat.
Thank you to my Patrons for the Support!!! rebrand.ly/SupportDDFM
By the WIND!!! hahahaha
They have a lowering kit and a short reach kit for the vertically challenged folks. Open the louver in the lowers to get some airflow across the legs.

Springfield also has the TS 111, just weighs less.
Nice vid Dan
I have the 30" in seam with a size 11 shoe and I have no problems with the shifter. If you're not use to a big bike it can be intimidating.
I am 5 foot 8. how would I fair on this bike?
The guy in front of you is having fun with the throttle, lol.

That’s a dope bike holy cow
If I ever plan on traveling across the country on a motorcycle, I would get this

*can I
The rear trunk is pretty easily detached. Can do it under 10 minutes easy. It is a little heave (40 lbs) and awkward to carry, but very do able.

Thank you sir. You inspire me as a short person to go riding. I always feel motorcycle to be daunting due to my physique.
I'm a 5ft4.
Are you getting an accessory pack with the ftr 1200?
Probably not. I will do it slowly after the stock ftr1200-s
I think they have a windshield that is a little longer.
Sweet bike!
You should know lol. Try out sport mode doe
That looks like a nice bike
Does this come in automatic?
No

@@davidosullivan1543 It is a big bike lol. Once you start riding it, of course, it wants to stay up. It is really balanced well.
@@DanDanTheFireman Yeah, I believe that. I'm probably going to go for the Scout for a good year or two, then go to the springfield.

You got long legs for a short guy my friend is 6 ft. 1 with a 31 inch inseam I am 6 ft. 5 with a 34 inch inseam. You must have a really short torso.
