The fully operational SZ Ranch in NE Santa Barbara County is now available! This 719-acre Certified Organic Farm and Ranch is located in the fertile Cuyama Valley and stretches south to the mountains of the Las Padres National Forest. The ranch produces organic beef, poultry and eggs and includes ranch home, barns, a large entertainment facility, 600-acres of prime recreational land and more. California's famed Central Coast is just an hour away.
The SZ Ranch is in the rich Cuyama Valley, known as the ‘The Hidden Valley of Enchantment’. The primary entrance is on Foothill Road with the olive tree-lined driveway leading through the property to the main ranch home and operational center, and past into the vast grazing and recreational areas to the south. This 719.15-acre property is comprised of three contiguous parcels: APN 149-140-029, 79.15-acres; APN 149-140-030, 40.0-acres; APN 149-140-031, 600.0-acres. Nearly flat farm and ranch ground transitions to rolling hills, valleys, mountains and draws. Well maintained roads provide access throughout the ranch, including a year-around natural spring located in the southwest corner of the property. Native grasses, wildflowers, shrubs, trees, quail, deer and other wildlife populate the land. This ranch provides panoramic and spectacular views of the Cuyama Valley and La Panza Range to the north, the Caliente Range to the northeast and the Los Padres National Forest and coast range to the south and west.
Outdoor activity opportunities on the ranch include horseback riding, hiking, camping, hunting, target and sporting clay shooting, off-road vehicle and mountain biking, wildlife viewing and more. A unique large entertainment area called “My Town” is in the heart of the ranch operational center. The Town was originally formed to accommodate and entertain employees and their families participating in the biannual Cattle Roundup and BBQ and can be used for various other entertainment, special events and gatherings. The feeling of the Old West is captured in the numerous barnwood-clad buildings of The Town (some fully operational) including the western-theme named Saloon (with large cold storage), School, Jail, Card Room, Land Office (with multiple offices), Post Office, Outhouse, Restrooms (with showers) and more. Other items in The Town include a Santa Maria Style BBQ grill, campfire pit, play structure, covered seating area, picnic tables, overhead string lighting, swings and other features. The SZ Ranch has also hosted Halloween and pumpkin patch events for the community.
The SZ Ranch is near New Cuyama. Cuyama Valley, situated along historic Route 166, is located in the middle of four counties: Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura and Kern. Cuyama and New Cuyama are about an hour’s drive to California’s famed Central Coast and wine region with nearby Pismo and Avila beaches, Santa Maria, Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo. An hour south leads you to Ojai or north to Bakersfield and California’s Great Central Valley. Los Angeles County is a 2+ hour drive to the south.
