All that money you saved over the previous "premium" hotel. That buys you amazing Greek food in little family-run tavernas. And still lots of money to spare for things like boat trips. And money to take home. Both are amazing experiences, but this is the one for me.
I thought the room was perfect. It’s got a nice bed, and a decent bathroom, and it’s not like you’ll be staying in it all day. With all the extra money you’ll have, you’ll be able to do so many other exciting things too. ☀️
Taking prices completely out of the equation, I love my Greek holidays for their Greekness. This one just feels way more authentic to me and I’d feel way more comfortable there. By and large, Greek people are highly hospitable and you will have a lovely time in little hotels/apartments complexes like this… and dining in small Greek Tavernas is the real Greek dining experience.
@@WalkWithMeTimthanks for replying, love your channel. It’s the best way I can describe it. I’ve been holidaying in Greece most of my life… when I was a young child, we did the accommodation as basic/cheap as we could, and instead hired cars and explored whichever island we were visiting, my grandad knows a lot about Greek culture and history and even speaks Greek so he made everything fascinating and we were made welcome everywhere we went, and the genuine Greek cuisine turned me into a foodie for life. I went to an exclusive hotel/resort in Crete in 2019 and as beautiful as it was, it just felt a little sterile and lacked authenticity… just down the road was a small apartment block where I’ve stayed three times, the owner is slightly shouty and unhinged, but actually a really lovely guy… I just wanted to be there. PS, if you’re ever in Birmingham, and you like Greek food, do try the Santorini Greek restaurant, had lunch with my daughter earlier and it’s the most authentic Greek food I’ve tried outside of Greece, and I cook Greek food myself.
That's exactly what I thought. As lovely as the expensive place was, I'd have been uncomfortable there and I'd be way more at home in this bijou cheaper place... Plus it was great! You'd have to tear me away from that little pool bar 😂
This was our exact room at Philoxenia in 2017! Shower was a bit dodgy, water went everywhere but we absolutely loved this spot, we stayed for 10 nights here and it felt like a family home. We were treated as family. Pool area looks amazing at night how it’s all lit up! The bed looks like it’s been replaced, the one we had was very “firm”. The area was ok, the bakery and mini mart basically outside the door and can walk everywhere you need to in Perissa from there! I’m so happy you liked it, it truly is a family run business and supporting these places is crucial.
Hi Tim, What a lovely gem of a hotel at a fantastic price! £60.90 a night compared to €1,500 (£1,294) a night in the cave hotel. You could stay for 7 nights in Santorini for around £726 including flights and have £568 left over from the cost of one night at the cave hotel. That would pay for some great food and drinks during your stay in Santorini. However good the cave hotel seemed I know which option I would go for. 😁
Do you know what, for such an expensive island, you can’t complain about that hotel. I’m mean it was actually really nice.. and it felt genuine unlike the experience hotel, which just felt like everything was on show. If I was holiday by myself this would be perfect as I felt you could mix with other people easily, even the owner showing you to the room was chatting to you whilst taking you to your room😊
This beautiful little hotel was giving me real “Mamma Mia” vibes .. I was half expecting Meryl Streep to greet you at reception .. much prefer this location for a holiday as it felt more Greek .. and what amazing views of the mountains from those stairs
This hotel was a gem and to me the real reason you go to Greece, family run and owned and. Wonderful room to stay. It’s clean, quiet and looked amazing. What more could you want. Regarding the shower, very common in Greece and I was told that it’s there for a very good reason. I don’t know if it was true, but did make sense. Most hot water in Greece is heated in tanks on the hotel roof, so no sun, no hot water. As the tanks do take time to heat up and there are a good number of rooms and people. Having a normal shower, people could just stand under neath it and drain all the hot water, so no one else gets a hot or warm shower. Place the shower where it is, your in and out much quicker, using less water, less waste of water and everyone should be able to get a warm shower. Very clever and good idea 😊 Double beds are also pretty much a no in family run hotels. If you think about it logical. The hotel can change on how they sell the room with out doing anything. 2 singles, 1 double (Beds pushed together), 1 twin, The room is adaptable to everything with no extra cost. Have to think outside the box for these type of hotels to keep going.
Think I prefer this hotel than the really expensive one you did in Santorini. I love how compact and cosy it is and for the price you can't really argue with that 👍 And as long as its clean, what more do you expect. Brilliant
We are just back from Kos and we hadn't been in Greece for a good ten years. Our first impression of our accommodation was how basic it was but really it had everything we needed and was family run by lovely people. We felt it was the real Greece. This place you stayed at was really quaint and pretty quirky. I loved it.
Oh I love it, we love to experience the culture,(or did: I'm disabled now! ) abroad is a No No ! Really miss it, but we're exploring places in G.B we've missed 💓
Tim, I've seen many of the hotels you stayed at all over the world and this hotel in Santorini looks like the best deal for me. It has everything and for an incredibly inexpensive price. After watching this, I plan on staying there in the near future. Thanks, Tim!!!
Wow I am so impressed with the price. That little hotel is right up my street. I love the big resorts but in turn love finding little gems like this. 👌
I've just gotten back from Santorini (first visit) and stayed in Perissa. I loved it. Yes, I did go to a lot of the other places, including Oia and Fira etc, but Oia for me was too touristy, too polished, and of course, teaming with people. Perissa, for me, was perfect!!!
That Looks like a taste of the real Greece. Accommodation seemed really clean and comfortable. It’s the sort of place that would suit me as I could really relax in the environment of the place. The price was really good Thank You Tim
Very nice, comfortable and charming.... and without feeling like the cash register was dinging every minute unlike that luxury stay... which was special of course, but hard to feel at ease. This place had everything one needed for a nice holiday stay. As for the heat, well, I live in South Florida so I'm accustomed to heat and humidity... don't love it, but one adjusts and wears the right light loose clothing and we move slowly.
Hi Tim. It's like most people say, a little gem of a hotel at a fantastic price. The initial view after you parked the car was a bit iffy but the pool and bar area looks superb. The room was decent too with the nice shared balcony. Love it. Immaculately shot video especially so since you were clearly suffering in the heat! 🥵Hopefully more of the Greek Islands in future vids.
Seems to me that this is the perfect option for getting out and about and exploring the island. That premium hotel, albeit lovely, would make me want to stay on site more to get max value. Each to their own I guess. But I'd be more than happy with this option. Great video Tim. Keep it up. 😊
I thought the hotel was really charming, I think sitting by the pool with a drink would be very enjoyable, and seems like everything is just a short walk away. I always thought that if I ever had the funds to go to Greece I`d want to stay in a cave hotel on the caldera, but having seen videos of the town up there and how crazy busy it gets I kind of think I`d prefer the inexpensive place.Great to see the contrast between the two hotels though.
Wow Tim for just over £60 a night in Santorini this extremely cute almost Apartment style Hotel is quaint & charming I found! As you said Tim the area around it doesn't look maybe posh but it certainly looks & feels like authentic Santorini. Which some Holiday Destinations don't feel like traditional they feel made up for Tourists with little authenticity & real charm. The Pool was cosy like you said also pretty 😍 The whole Villa was very lovely & charming, the Palm Trees 🌴 Your room was also very nice the beds push together could be a problem for couples but for singles it's no problem. It was minimalistic but definitely as you say Tim clean & fresh. I liked the picture on the wall & the Light Shade on the main light in your room looked very Spanish. The kitchenette was very basic the Coca Cola Cup with Cutlery was cute & made me smile! Rather a cheap but nice touch. The Mugs with Santorini on were also a personal touch as you say you don't know where they have come from or who has drunk from them but as you said Tim your not going to be spending a lot of time drinking Tea in your room in Santorini! Overall very cheerful touches. The Bathroom Moon Light effect was fabulous! Definitely the most defining feature of your room. I liked the Bathroom too, the shower made me laugh 😂it was even too low for me!!! And I have my 🚿 shower down low being only 4ft 10. Complementary shampoos was another good touch. Glad the bed was comfy & clean! Your room had everything that is needed & little cute touches. The shared balcony was a lovely feature & totally unexpected for £60😮 And what a view overlooking the pool! With Cute Table & Chairs & Sun all afternoon! I love the deep pink flowers 🌺 that seem to be a feature in Santorini. What beautiful Mountains & the White Buildings all around, I really love it💕 The white fountain & all the little private balconies downstairs. I would like the ground floor rooms with those private balconies by the White Fountain for sure! Or your room on the Terrace I would like too with all that afternoon sun ☀️ Breakfast area was lovely & a lovely feel around the whole place! I think the area around would be interesting to check out to see how many Bars Restaurants & Shops there are nearby & is there a Beach⛱️? But for £60 a night if someone has a Car it doesn't matter if you need to go a bit further a field. Thanks Tim for showing such a lovely little gem of Santorini 🌄🌅..
@@WalkWithMeTim I'd definitely be interested to see all of Santorini if I could afford it Tim. It looks absolutely adorable 🤩 with the Sunshine ☀️ the lovely White Buildings & the views! I bet you had fun Tim looking for the cheapest hotel online in Santorini 😀
Just found your channel, and am really enjoying watching. I skimmed through some comments and did not see anyone answering your question about the flowers. I’m on my phone and can’t tell for sure, but they look like Bougainville to me. If that is what they are, yjrn use, they like hot climates.
Honestly Tim, even though the other place was incredible, I'd feel much more at home here 😅 Plus it feels more Greek! Never been to Santorini but I'm really tempted now!
great video tim a nice cosy hotel for that price in santorini is a steal. You get to see the traditional and homely welcoming side of greek life at these small family run hotels. keep up great work
Awesome Tim! Another great video! You look great and know how to entertain! You never get boring..you just keep getting better year by year! Your devoted fan from America
That is the type of place i always stop in on my trips to Greece and have met some wonderful people you were lucky to have a pool as well in such a small hotel
I have to say Tim, I kind of like that quaint wee hotel. It’s got pretty much all you would need to have a nice quiet holiday away from it all! Don’t get me wrong I loved seeing the 5* place on your other vid but for the price this looks like a no brainer! Great video as usual!👍👏👏👏😊❤️
I really enjoy watching you try the various options, expensive V budget and find you are very balanced in your opinions. I am surprised you have not been snapped up by TV company as your presenting style is excellent.
I’ve stayed in Kamari 4 out of the 5 times I’ve visited Santorini. Lovely little resort, it’s busy but doesn’t have the insane crowds of Fira or Oia. Three weeks today and I’ll be there.
I really enjoyed santarini, is no sikinos but is lovely. We stayed near in and stayed in some great places. Really doesnt have to be expensive santarini think it gets tarred with the mykonos brush but is really beautiful island and can easily do it on the cheap
Great video chap. Makes me want to go there. That little place was lovely. Much much preferred it to the expensive place. Quainter, more chilled and relaxed, unpretentious and I'd go there, but not the expensive one, I'd feel out of place there. Keep up the good work fella!
What a great find! A nice place, clean, well appointed, traditional looking - what's not to like? I wouldn't mind staying there, especially at that price! And you probably get more of a down to earth, friendliy service. Cheers, Tim!
A cheap hotel in an expensive place. Not bad at all 👍 It has kitchenette too which is lovely if you're planning to cook for yourself. That hotel costs the same with the mid range hotel rooms here in the Philippines. You can also stay in a 4 star hotel with such price.
That fridge took me back a few decades with the small freezer compartment where we used to be able to fit a a block of ice cream in a cardboard packet. It looked a beautiful place to stay for somewhere "cheap" compared to the "cheap" hotels in the UK, it was luxury. You never showed us what was on the roof.
@@wesssavorn9018 Hi..we stayed at the Villa Anto in fira last time..its only 15 min Walk ( uphill though) in the first week in October..it was about £450 for the week..it was lovely, very Greek and cute.
This looks very nice, reminds me of when I stayed in Lindos. Love the Greek feel to it, looks cozy. Great find Tim, and a great price. Santorini is there for all, after all 😀🥰
I stayed at the Villa Agas hotel in Santorini for €27 per night. This was before COVID and out of season (February). It wasn’t as nice as this but was a pleasant place to stay.
I love the comparison videos! From most expensive in Santorini with the last video, to least expensive in this one. And even giving us the heads up to use Easy Jet. Much appreciated, keep up the good work.
Great video and tips for many people, when I was around 22 I stayed in Greece and Italy in many of these type of hotels, what a blessing that was! It is all about the company! You can enjoy so much more on your own!!!! Even the foods the island has to offer. Go for it. Santorini is great for honeymoons, but for usual family vacation too
Loved the cheaper apartment and the Greekness, as previously stated. 😊£60 is fantastic showing you that Santorini is not out of reach. I also prefer the small, family run places. You are treated lamazingly and nothing is to much trouble. Thanks for another great vlog. Xx
It's good that you review both ends of these places. Although I love staying in luxury I don't mind places like either as its better for my purse 😅. Fairly good bargain for what you have. If it were me I would use it as a base to go and explore the island a bit. Good job Tim
Pheeww! I was nearly totally put off going to Santorini Tim 😂 I thought this apartment was pretty decent for the money mate, You totally showcased it as usual 👍 can't fault ya, always so professional, great vlog as always, what's not to like, Cheers 🍻
That looked great to me 👍 I must admit it seemed a bit ropey when you first arrived in the car, but that hotel was like a little oasis. It was very clean and had everything you needed. It was like a different world once you were off the street. A little gem.
Another great video Tim and what a cute little hotel that looked! I am on countdown to my holiday to Porto in 5 weeks and your videos are really helping me to get in the mood! 😃
Love this place it's quaint and homely looking. It's clean plenty big enough you say the beds are fine what is there not to like 👍 i don't believe in exorbitant prices I like a bargain and this looks like a bargain 👍
Regarding the shower here... Idea is to wet yourself, return shower head to holder, apply soap etc and wash it off. Pretty good and economical with the water usage....Who need much more??? What a lovely room and place to stay!
Aside from the buildings next door (sketchy looking) the place was cute and affordable. I agree with the affordability on a trip for 5 days to Santorini if you stay at a lesser scale retreat then an all inclusive. This place was quiet and clean. Top two priorities for vacation.
What a lovely little hotel. It looked spotless, to me that’s the main thing. I wonder if its a family run place as I did notice a Greek older lady dressed in black, wondering if that’s mum/gran? Little gem of a place.
Great video, we've just returned from a family holiday for 2 weeks in Gran Canaria (Puerto Rico) and it was your visit Gran Canaria video that inspired us to book it. We loved it. Love watching your videos and hopefully can get some good pointers on where to book next year. Keep up the great work 👍

Great vlog Tim ,My brother lived in Santorini for 10 years I went and visited him and his family back in 98.we are British but with Greek Cypriot parents .I think it's not only for the super rich. You can still have a cheap holiday there if you book in January pay it off slowly ,or rent a apartment nice and early .In the winter, for the summer.please visit Ayia Napa and protaras in Cyprus.. Especially fig tree bay great beach there .Also Santa Susana Costa brava Spain so much to do there also great for family s.Cheers Tim .you be great on TV actually doing a holiday programme for itv, your such a professional keep up the great work ,you bring in joy in people's life 😊just thought closer to home.Check out the ferries to France which give a better service for money you spend P&O or DFDS ferries.take care bye
Absolutely awesome that at a great price. I've a vision in my head of you going up them stairs and an angry greek man coming out and saying no no not allowed here 😂. Definitely a beautiful place to have an holiday. Tim plenty water ok matey all the best

What a charming little place you found there. Can't fault that price at all 😊
Loved this hotel more than your expensive one, looked so cute x
I really enjoyed santarini, is no sikinos but is lovely. We stayed near in and stayed in some great places. Really doesnt have to be expensive santarini think it gets tarred with the mykonos brush but is really beautiful island and can easily do it on the cheap
Hi Tim another excellent video and that is a great price for a desired pricey Greek Island.
Fantastic Tim. What a beautiful place. I'd definitely stay there. Great vlog. Thank you for showing us this little gem 😎👊
My pleasure
That's a lovely place and very cosy and quirky great find well done.
That fridge took me back a few decades with the small freezer compartment where we used to be able to fit a a block of ice cream in a cardboard packet. It looked a beautiful place to stay for somewhere "cheap" compared to the "cheap" hotels in the UK, it was luxury. You never showed us what was on the roof.
ha ha I have that similar fridge freezer now
Certainly very good value and a rather nice quaint sort of hotel. Would have been interesting to have seen what eating out options were available.
Absolutely loved this little gem of a hotel, definitely value for money and could just relax on the balcony
Well worth the money looks lovely well done Tim for finding 😊
Loved that little hotel. It's all you need where you want it and the rest of your money can be spent on exploring the island. Even a taxi for the day?
Super charming and clean. I was expecting something uncomfortable or ugly or dirty.
Wow thank you for posting this I actually might be able to visit at that price looks adorable
@@wesssavorn9018 Hi..we stayed at the Villa Anto in fira last time..its only 15 min Walk ( uphill though) in the first week in October..it was about £450 for the week..it was lovely, very Greek and cute.
@annmitchell4663 thank you I will look into it , cheers
This looks very nice, reminds me of when I stayed in Lindos. Love the Greek feel to it, looks cozy. Great find Tim, and a great price. Santorini is there for all, after all 😀🥰
Love Rhodes
Loved the tour! Thank you. I stayed in a cave hotel last year with an awesome view of the caldera. This is a good option for a budget vacation.
I stayed at the Villa Agas hotel in Santorini for €27 per night. This was before COVID and out of season (February). It wasn’t as nice as this but was a pleasant place to stay.
Loved this little hotel Tim ..so homely& delightful with the bougainvillea everywhere & those huge pines! Utterly charming & so cheap!
thankyou another fab blog and that cheap hotel looks wonderful and nice and clean to plus area within the hotel to looks just loverly.😊
I love the comparison videos! From most expensive in Santorini with the last video, to least expensive in this one. And even giving us the heads up to use Easy Jet. Much appreciated, keep up the good work.
What a lovely place! Xxx
This is like a fancy version of the places we used to stay in Greece when I was a kid. Love it 💜
Great little place. Will put it on my list for the future....thanks for the info!
That hotel is my kinda hotel. If I had a car it would be a fantastic place to hang out. I Loved the uniqueness off it.
Perfect, I would rather stay at a small family hotel then a big fancy one. Thanks again Tim.
Xx
Totally agree!
stayed in hotels like that on the Greek islands 30 + years ago - lovely homely places
Lovely Tim. Clean. Car park needed a sweep though 😊
What a lovely little hotel i would have loved to stay there 🥰
It's good that you review both ends of these places. Although I love staying in luxury I don't mind places like either as its better for my purse 😅. Fairly good bargain for what you have. If it were me I would use it as a base to go and explore the island a bit. Good job Tim
What a lovely little find that place is looks amazing
Pheeww! I was nearly totally put off going to Santorini Tim 😂 I thought this apartment was pretty decent for the money mate, You totally showcased it as usual 👍 can't fault ya, always so professional, great vlog as always, what's not to like, Cheers 🍻
Thanks
Absolutely a bargain, looks lovely.
I need to watch your other video but this hotel looks like a lot of fun. Plus you paid so little for a lot.
That looked great to me 👍 I must admit it seemed a bit ropey when you first arrived in the car, but that hotel was like a little oasis. It was very clean and had everything you needed. It was like a different world once you were off the street. A little gem.
Santorini at Premier Inn prices!!
That place looked really cute much nicer than some of these places with 200 rooms etc. Good job thanks for the video
Lol
Another great video Tim and what a cute little hotel that looked! I am on countdown to my holiday to Porto in 5 weeks and your videos are really helping me to get in the mood! 😃
Have fun!
Love this place it's quaint and homely looking. It's clean plenty big enough you say the beds are fine what is there not to like 👍 i don't believe in exorbitant prices I like a bargain and this looks like a bargain 👍
Much better than the expensive places as you get the real experience of the locals.
Hi Tim Wow this is a little gem. Lovely and chilled very quaint great price. Thanks for sharing with us. Love to you as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
Regarding the shower here... Idea is to wet yourself, return shower head to holder, apply soap etc and wash it off. Pretty good and economical with the water usage....Who need much more??? What a lovely room and place to stay!
Nice and affordable - didn’t see any pots and pans .
Blimey that’s incredible value and the accommodation is definitely somewhere you’d be happy staying
Really surprised by this, it's actually good value, and more importantly, clean!
Great video, we've just returned from a family holiday for 2 weeks in Gran Canaria (Puerto Rico) and it was your visit Gran Canaria video that inspired us to book it. We loved it.
Love watching your videos and hopefully can get some good pointers on where to book next year. Keep up the great work 👍
Wow brilliant matt

It was a very good travel day blog today of you chilling out and staying in the cheapest room in Santorini Greece for the holiday vibes tim
Absolutely awesome that at a great price. I've a vision in my head of you going up them stairs and an angry greek man coming out and saying no no not allowed here 😂. Definitely a beautiful place to have an holiday. Tim plenty water ok matey all the best
Loving the videos , We are off on our first holiday abroad in 4 years ,can't wait
I would stay here in a heartbeat! Everything you need right there: who needs luxury places anyway, just somewhere to lay your head.
