Thank you for posting this informative documentry regarding the last emperor of China. However, I am not so naive to believe Mao and his horrific revolution that followed shows him in this documentary as such a a benenevoevent chairman to puyi's reeducation. If anyone should have been tried for war crimes and executed it hould be that criminal Mao. 1:00:36

Cornette's clip on this may be longer than the actual match itself. And I'm not mad.

29:45: 14 years of nightmares. Now the world should know why the Chinese "love" the Japanese so much. The Chinese "love" the Japanese to "death...."

When you have a concubine who rules the empire for 50 years, and she installs multiple weak emporers so she can control the country behind the scenes. Worst yet, she killed her own son, the emporer so that she can rule. Thats the century of humiliation people.

Yup. The whole dynasty got destroyed because of her selfishness she wanted to keep in control of the empire. I guess she wanted to be like Wu Zetian, but she knows nothing compared to Wu Zetian.

Wu Zeitan made a lot of changes that benefitted China and helped her people through times of crises by building granaries and storing food there to help feed her people. She was the first female ruler of China to promote Buddhism and built pagodas. People talked negatively about Wu Zetian in the later years because they were jealous of how well she ruled the country despite her gender.
Cixi could've taken a lesson from her book and done more for her people instead of killing her son just because he opposed her policies and wanted to modernize China. She didn't want to give up control.

1:9:03 Wanrong end was horrible and so sad, die alone in prison from withdrawal must have caused enormous suffering and hard pain. I am so saddened for her 😞

Rumors were abound that Yuling had been faking her illness and this allowed her to evade suspicion for a while. During a routine check-up for her infection, the doctor treating her, had discovered she was actually pregnant with Puyi's child. This put the Japanese in a bind because if Yuling is allowed to give birth to a child and it's a boy, he would be Manchu Chinese and the heir to Manchukuo. She was perceived as a threat because she had been a longtime opponent of their policies and if she lived, she could use him to turn Puyi against them. The Japanese couldn't allow Yuling to live and ruin their plans. Hence, they had her killed to ensure that neither she and their potential son can be born and likely oppose them.
