Being a Brit I am well aware of the Band of the Royal Marines..... But I have never heard this by them at all.... Thank you so much for introducing them to me... I completely agree I think this is the best version I've heard of this song too...!!
If you’ve not already done so, I’d recommend two more from Mountbatten Festivals of Music by HM Royal Marines: their interpretation of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway To Heaven, which is remarkably well done, and Band Corporal Sam McIndoe, the lady in this video, who’s built quite the cult following, performing Dire Strait’s’ Brothers In Arms which was immediately after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and is a stunningly powerful tribute to a real group of Brothers In Arms.
What a great interpretation, the arrangement really evoked the lyrics. Dynamically, I wish they'd waited a little longer before going to full roar, but that's a minor complaint. Great performance, great vocals, loved it 👍 I always enjoy how open you are to the pleasure of good music. Thanks for sharing this 😊
These do some amazing covers they are brilliant. You should definitely check out their other recordings especially the Ennio Morricone cover they performed of the good the bad and the ugly 👌
Lot of services around at the moment with 11th November coming up, two ceremonies which will be odd as the Queen will be missing, that's Prince Harry in The Royal Box of The Royal Albert Hall, and he's been doing a lot for mental health You also have a couple of messages I've pinged you PO mail has arrived
No recording from the Royal Albert Hall that I have ever heard has ever done justice to actually hearing the original performance. If you are ever on this side of the water and there is a concert on and you can get tickets, go for it, bushy rodent chap.

This version was awe-inspiring, sends shivers and goosebumps down the spine. The Royal Marines are great musicians.
It was very beautiful. I love this song, and this version was great 👍🏻
Beautiful. Uplifting. Wonderful tonic for the soul.
The harmonizing is beyond superb. Moves me to tears. Riveting!
It shows the dedication and time they spend preparing.
No other words necessary 'beautiful '

All these have to be up to orchestra standard to even get in and I belive they have to be able to play three instruments
