I love the look on Mike's dad's face at 1:46 when Mike was singing in this - it was like you could see his realisation that Mike knew where he meant to be in the future and he had to let him follow his dream.
I wasn’t a fan of the Troubletones storyline or Rachel cheating for Kurt but not having them in this number really made the rest of the group shine. I really loved that the Glee boys got to be the center of attention for once since they usually act as supporting voices for the girls in most of the big performances.
Most unpopular opinion about Glee: I don't think The Troubletones were better than them. They were amazing on every song and this one ended with a golden key. I love Naya and Amber's voice, but the ND was wonderful this time.
I agree. This was one of my favorite sets of theirs because with Rachel sidelined and Santana and Mercedes not in the group, so many others got to shine that normally don’t, at least not in competition performances.
I love troubletones but tina's and mks voice in abc was soo good their outfits are actually good i like control and this performance was perfect so I think they actually deserved this win
I think it came down to song choice. The MJ songs allowed ND to showcase their vocals better, whereas the TT Alicia Keys song were too similar or plainly put one noted (even though they aren't literally) despite the different (and powerhouse) singers, as well as more polished moves. The New Directions were more fun to watch and listen to. I think this every time I watch the episode.
