I'M SELLING MY AUDI TT...

- I've been using my MK1 Audi TT for around 6 months now, and have covered a little over 3,000 miles in the car. As the winter comes though, it’s time to move the car on and look for something a little more suitable. First, I just want to make a couple of improvements to the TT before putting it up for sale! Comment below what you think I should replace it with! Top of my list currently is a Porsche Cayenne…
You should buy an eos. It would be interesting (obviously not for winter)
The AA man told me as he recovered my Cayenne 3 weeks after I bought it "you've bought a hobby not a car!" He's not wrong - but I do love it!
Yes for the Cayenne or maybe a Mk1 Touareg or E53 X5
X-type AWD with the 2.5 or 3.0, perfect for winter and will look good with your S-type
My Subaru wrx wagon
Would vouch for Joel and buying a car off him. The Z4 is still going strong. 💪🏻
That’s so cool to hear! Still miss that car
Oh no one couldn't possibly drive a front wheel drive car through winter, in southern England!? Heavens!
Read: need excuse to buy a range rover
My thoughts 😂
It is sending my OCD insane that you didn’t click in the new cupholder properly, the clips are still loose on one side 😠
Have been driving 15 years & have never owned a 4x4. Never once found a FWD car dangerous or a worry in the winter 😂. I like your content but do find you have little direction on where you want your channel to go. Seems BUY, TRY TO FIX & SELL
Even RWD with good tyres and a decent driver is way better than AWD for daily driving. I'd never own one unless I lived in Sweden and it snows half the year. Just boring to drive
Personally wouldn’t pay £100 for cup holders
Suppose it depends how much you’d use them
@@itsjoel you can buy aftermarket armrest with cup holders for less than that
Meh, personally I'll always pick OEM even if it costs more. Am a fan of originality
I’ve never thought the weather in England particularly south of Watford warranted worrying about 4wd. I’ve driven a rear wheel drive car for the last 20 odd years in rain or snow and never had a problem although undoubtedly winter tyres would help. The Germans manage to drive their Porsches, BMWs and Mercedes in winter. The French and Italians mostly front wheel drives and the all have harsher winters than us.
The Europeans have much better infrastructure than we do and are far more prepared for the weather. I live as south as you can be and a 4WD is definitely recommended most of the year (flooding etc.) but mainly for the pot holes 😂
Well done Joel, regarding the wing mirror, I'd have just wet and dried it and lacquered it but I get the promotion deal you're doing
Oh no, sad to see you're going to be selling the TT! I think you'll regret it, looks to be one of your better buys and it's very freeing having such a cheap, usable and reliable car - why swap it for a more expensive, more needy and less reliable SUV? Get a decent set of all season tyres for the Audi and just keep using it.
Would have been nice to see more content with it, a road trip or a challenge maybe.
Your first video on this car finally made me get my own mk1 TT, and I love it!
Make sure you retest the performance now with those cup holders. Pretty confident you will see a decrease in 0-60 times. Nice quick fixes though, glad Ebay helped sponsor this as over £100 for cup holders and a mirror does eat into the profits.
I don't see how a front wheel drive VAG product would give any cause for concern in a British winter unless you live in a hilly area with regular snow. A 4x4 with summer tyres driving up a snowy hill are next to useless.
Mate. Cup holders in 04 were deft not considered an essential accessory for our cars . In fact you would have been considered bizarre if you had requested them. We were also not obsessed with bottled water / Costa coffee and incidentally the human race had managed to survive at least 10000 years with out them!!
They look like a pair of handcuffs. If I bought one, I would take them out. I don't drink hot beverages at all, and don't agree with people drinking hot liquids at the wheel. Perhaps it's because I was an instructor, and am more in tune with safety.
Exactly! Drive through just wasn't readily available back then and even if it was there's no way I'd have risked a potential spillage in my TT
An SLK R170 would be great, perhaps not 4WD but a damn good classic with the 230 Kompressor. I know, I have one!
New wing mirror and cup holders! Well worth a few grand more! 😂😂
I should just be able to swap it for an R8 now with that added value, right?
Although the cup holder looks good i don't understand why people can't go on a car journey without the need to have a drink. It's like going to the cinema and watching a two hour film and having to eat vast amounts of popcorn for no reason.
An in car popcorn holder! Now there’s an idea😂
Why not replace it with a TT quattro? Cayenne is an interesting choice but be prepared for big bills if something goes wrong. What about the XC90 you were battling with, isn't that AWD ?
Good point. I think as well as the AWD thing, I am ready for a different car with more refinements. The XC90 should be AWD, but apparently it’s not running as such.
Honestly thought you were going to put the mirror back on without cleaning the door. Well done Joel 👍🏻👍🏻
2 fabulous options, shame you didn’t find the cupholders earlier to fit on! Loved watching this car and it was a very good purchase!
Thanks buddy!
Love the excitement over some cup holders!
I think the cayenne is a bit. Been there done that on RUclips at the moment but unless you manage to pickup a V10 or W12 toureg the cayenne will probably attract more attention. Personally I’d go for the V10 toureg you can pick them up decently cheap on occasion and I like them because I like weird things and VW we’re doing so strange stuff in the naughties like the W8 Passat
Just some constructive feedback - I think if you want to grow the channel it would be better to have more “content” in a 12 minute video than just a wing mirror replacement and sticking in a set of cupholders. I like the channel a lot, I just don’t feel much is actually done in your videos, and seems more just doing something for the sponsorship. As I said - entirely constructive.
Same thought.

I have a different opinion, I really enjoyed Joel fitting the cup holders and look forward to him fitting more in the future
Most mk1 Audi tt didn't come with cup holders because it was a £699 cost option. Lots of money back in 1999 😮
Wow, that’s crazy!
Breaker writing on the back of the cup holder blanking panel you remove suggests car had cup holders and someone took them out to sell on
You could just get a good set of tyres on and it’ll still be fine despite being fwd
Yes true. It could definitely use a good set of tyres
@@itsjoel Good tyres will outperform 4x4. This idea that you need 4x4 is a total myth. Brakes are on all 4 tyres on all cars, so all you're doing is making it easier to accelerate to speeds you simply can't stop from. 4x4 with good tyres is obviously top tier though. ruclips.net/video/mfuE00qdhLA/видео.html
yes, it seems a lame excuse for a sale but whatabout upgrading the tyres also if you are def going for the sale?
Cup holder not fitted fully in on passenger side 👌
Its about damn time you did ! bye TT!
A 2008 ML63 should be your next buy
Let's get the TT ready to be sold 🤝
Looking forward to the return of the S Type.
Hi Joel, I think two cars also worth considering is the 1st gen audi q7 and 1st gen vw touareg. also, where is your xc90?
I've always liked the first gen Q7s, the XC90 is in a specialist having some work done (it's been there 3 weeks now...) I'll get an update out soon!
Red colour of the new mirror is slightly different so maybe stick the old mirror in the boot…you never know if the new owner maybe can just repaint it or clear coat it. Well done anyway
Two screw holes under plastic covers base of cup holder. Thats not steady. And you have missing trim on that one you bought. Thats not fixed put a bottle water in it. You need fasten properly. Ans you may as well mentioned the emergency boot release you exposed when removing old trim
Giving me flashbacks to the old e85 without cup holders
Keep up the good work
How much are you selling the TT for joel?
I don't think cup holders would add any value to the car I'm afraid.
Shame to sell it as it seems to have worked out well for you. I still love the styling of the early tt over the newer ones.
You should have used a drill on hammer setting to get that mirror off without breaking it Joel :) ,,, You could have sold the old mirror assembly on the bay and re-couped some of the cost?
You could have got cup holders that attach or replace the kneepads
Joel I think a lovely Mercedes ML63 would be perfect for you. I also think you should keep the TT it’s a great car.
love the content but where is the S type?
It’s alive and well! I’ll make sure to do some content with it soon!
@@itsjoelcool, happy you still have it
@@wsoob2296will always keep that car!
Cup holders and mirror must have added at least £500
You’ve already got a 4x4 for winter, the mighty XC90…… time for another video on that Swedish heavy metal
I wouldn’t touch it with a bargepole if you have done any work on it after the crap job you did on the Volvo!
Thanks for your input
@hillmangt1. Have a look up on the personality type, radiators and drainers. Try to be the former. At least he had a go and never made out that he was some expert at it.
@@judgementalTX I stand by what I said. Don’t mess with cars when you don’t have a clue, it’s dangerous to yourself and others. If you’re not prepared to do something properly and to the correct standards leave well alone. Joel was told many times in the comments how to solve the problems but chose to ignore them.
Bring the Z4 backkkk, if not the roadster then the coupe?
Plastic headlight cover's & not Lenses are still super stupidly neglected hazed over tremendously & not surprised in the least there simply brought back to clear oem condition. Period
Ive just bought a vw touareg 7p R like for winter and its brillianr Joel id highly recommend 😊
Did you not put some sealant on base before attaching back to car? To ensure water tight?
I've got cup holders on mine. Good luck with the sale.
£99:00 for used cup holder thats a rediculous price
Lets hope he doesnt get completely and utterly messed around with this sale. Like what happened with his BMW 760
Oh my, that was a nightmare!
What happened?
@@GTFour It went from bad to worse.
@@Stoff1 that tells me nothing
It needs a flower vase on the dashboard..
I’ve got a number of cup holders in my car and literally never use them. No liquids in the car 😂
At least a front wheel drive car is better in the snow and ice than a rear wheel drive, good luck selling all the same mate.
Did eBay give you the parts or did you buy them at full or discounted price?
Nice one, well done I'm good luck with the sale...🙂
What’s the latest with the XC90 Joel? Did you take it to Swedish in the end?
Yes! In fact, it’s been there for almost 3 weeks. Update coming as soon as I have it back!
Great! I’m on my way there now to collect my car. I’ll look out for it. Big up to Terry & Max at Swedish 👍👍👍
How do you sell your cars Joel ?
How much Joel.
Why do you call door mirrors wing mirrors?
Because they originally back in the day, was on the wings(fenders for the inept Americans) of the car.
What about an Aston Martin DB9?
How much do you want for the tt please?
Joel I have s range rover in my garage in garage needs injection system looked at l322 2002 22inch wheels super 7s worth money struts and springs on the front needs to go cancer forces sale I love this car canny afford it now
Two good changes. 👍👍👍👍
Sell it to Matt of high peak auto.
Nobody should be drinking whilst driving.
Petrolheads finding excuses to buy a new car... "for this cold winter... I need something that´s 4 wheel drive"
I’ve supported this channel but I can’t support this. Joel you seem to be the type to get all wishy washy at the first sign of any bother. You had a garage for 3 days and did virtually nothing. You have by your own admission a perfectly decent FWD car which you’re going to sell because winter is coming! Let’s hope you don’t get a FWD press car or that won’t get used either. Frankly it’s pathetic that you’re basically saying FWD cars are no use in the winter. Do you know how much of your viewership is likely to own one or more and use them every winter?
If you’re bored of your TT then say so but that car has the potential to be the best project car you could ever own and it could teach you how to become a mechanic. You tried it with the XC90 and that didn’t go well at all. Don’t chuck this one away because I’ll tell you that Dom from the Parrott Bros and BWS and many others are the most approachable and friendly guys you could meet and what isn’t posted about repairing mk1 TT’s on YT isn’t worth knowing. At the end of the day it’s your choice.
It’s just a premise for a video, there’s other reasons I want to move the TT on too. I want a different car and I don’t see anything wrong with that? Also, I saw the XC90 garage series as a fantastic success as I learned so much and created a great series doing so. Think you need to put your concerns into perspective and simply remember I’m trying to make content.
@@itsjoel absolutely nothing wrong with selling cars, however saying you’re selling it because winter is coming and its front wheel drive? Also with regard to content I notice that your TT videos are in the more watched category with only a couple of videos having higher views so as I said don’t knock the popularity of your TT.
Also I’m not having a pop at you, I’m just offering constructive feedback. You’ll do what you want to do obviously 👍
@@eddherring4972you should probably read your message again if you think you weren't having a pop at him. Try and imagine how it comes across.
He never listens to his audience
💯
Just buy some winter tyres and crack on
Get your self a 7P VW TOUAREG.
Love watching Joel. Don’t understand why though.
Hahaha! Thanks, I guess?
Selling this TT puts you well on the way to buying the R8 that you asked "should i buy one?"
You used to make some cool videos with nice content, but at this point I feel that you are completely lost. A few episodes with the Audi but nothing special, a promising start with the Volvo but again the same (nothing special) and then the Jag (same as before). Why? Why you don't want your channel to have character? I've been here since the beginning, but it seems that you either dont have enough time to create something better, or you are out of ideas.
I think the problem lately is I've not really had any cars that I love. I'm looking at getting something that I actually want next, and thus should be more inspired to create more exciting content with
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Big mistake
Why? I can always get another one!
😴😴😴😴
.....AND??? I REALLY DON'T GIVE A *******
Made to look easy 😂
