There is something wrong about azula in this movie Azula is supposed to be calm, smart and manipulate. Not anger, hot headed. And also, the most important is azula has blue fire.
We saw her use blue fire for a short moment in this series. Maybe we'll see more of it in the second season. Plus I like how Ozai is manipulating her, using her jealousy of Zuko to motivate her.

There’s a lot of fatshaming weirdo’s in this comment section.. like this actress literally ain’t even fat, but a girl with a rounder face got people acting really nasty. get help y’all. Edit because some of you can't read: this comment isn't about your opinions, valid critisism or the miscasting of the actress, this is about people mocking or being unneccesarily mean about a person's weight. Y'all are capable of understanding this comment i believe in you
I get your point but it's not nasty and it's certainly not body shaming. I'm mixed on Azula's actress. She just doesn't look the part, there's nothing wrong with telling like it is. It's not the actress' problem because everything about her, demeanor, the spirit of Azula, she does have that but in the show where Netflix largely succeeded with casting to the point where all main characters look like their animated counterparts, this is a valid criticism.
@@robertking4645so tired of this.. I'm not talking about valid critisism. I agree that this azula, in both attitude AND body doesn't accurately represent how imposing and threatening og Azula was. This show tried something different with the character, mainly making her more desperate for her fathers approval, and straying from the show's more angular, adult looking character design by picking an actress who, god forbid, actually looks fourteen. And for me and many other fans, this portrayal sadly fell flat. She's just not threatening at all and that sucks, especially since characters like Zuko and Ozai both look and act like their cartoon counterparts. But honestly critisizing the fumbling of Azula's character or 'telling it like it is' is one thing. Saying that these young actresses wearing cheap wigs and bulky unflattering custumes have 'eaten one too many big macs' is another thing entirely. I don't think it's vitue signaling or stifling critisism or whatever to be genuinely disgusted by some of these comments, and people seriously need to learn the difference between critisizing the miscasting of a beloved character and just being fatphobic and hateful.
There is standard for us , as Avatar aang fans since long time ago. We have in our minds azula and mai what they looked alike. So don't get us wrong. The actress is the wrong here😂😂😂
She's not very threatening though and don't you dare say 14 year Olds aren't very threatening that's super stupid. Anyone can appear threatening with the right skill
It never ceases to amaze me of the amount of complaints people have with this version of Azula. She's by far has demonstrated how her animated counterpart can be in real life. Ruthless, manipulative, cunning and a talented firebender.
@@MrMegas2 Seriously though. It would’ve killed two birds with one stone. Ozai introducing the audience to Azula as the Fire Nation princess and also to get across to the rebels that they were duped in a more significant way.
My theory: Ozai plays both siblings against each other to increase Azula's strong will and her anger. And since firebenders traditionally used rage to strengthen the inner fire it could be possible that all this was part of the plan of Ozai to turn Azula into the perfect weapon and to trigger her potential and powers.
I actually can agree that Ozai deliberately pitted Azula against Zuko to make her work harder in original series too. One of the most toxic abusive parents ever
It's a family tradition it seems: Fire Lord Taiso pitted his children Sozin and Zeisan against each other; Chaejin tried to usurp Zoryu; and Iroh and Ozai used to have the most heated pai sho games, often ending with Ozai flipping the table when he knew he was losing.
2:00 That 'yeah well' sounded cool, most of the other script and facial expressions kinda seem forced, like she doesn't actually feel that way, like she's just dancing to her father's strumming instead of by her own will. I can get used to the cheeks though, I think people mostly criticise them because it's the most concrete argument for why her acting feels weird. 4:14 Well, that part also seems like how a real person would act, instead of just reading the lines 4:53 but it doesn't last long... 😢
I see a lot of hate comments for this actresses work but I’d like to point out we don’t get to see Azula until the very end of season one at clip at the end of the episode. Ozai certainly petted his two children against each other, and it would make sense that has been put under a lot of pressure, and because her father expects so much of her in comparison to what Zuko has gone through, that she in season two and season three will be much more manipulative and clean, because she’s had to be. It’s possible that the writers are doing this to prove the point that is still a kid with her, is known to be better, cleaner. She might spend more time at that sort of behavior that we see in season two in season three
4:59, notice the corner of Azula’s left eye. It looks like she has a tear in it. This brings a question: why does she have a tear in her eye? Is it a tear of fear because she is afraid of her father burning her? Or is it an angry tear because she’s angry at how her father is treating her?
@@mossthebryophytershe hasn’t gotten to the meat of her evil yet. Yeah, (if she reads this absolutely no offense but sorry) maybe lose 10 pounds. Next season is for you to shine though.
I mean, Azula is an animated character, it’s difficult to find someone physically the same. I think they did a good job with characterization, and Lizzy’s acting is very good. People feel “off” about her because the live action is showing us how Azula came to be the Azula we know in the animated show, this is how she got to that point.
In the "The Avatar and the Fire Lord", we learn that Zuko and, by extension, Azula are descendants from not only the Fire Lords through their Father, but also Avatar Roku, through their Mother. In the Search series, it's revealed that this union was by Fire Lord Azulon's design, as he arranged the marriage between his second son, Ozai, and Avatar Roku's granddaughter, Ursa, in order to unite the bloodline of Roku with the Fire Lord's. However... At the time that Ozai and Ursa were wed, Azulon's eldest son, Iroh, was heir to the throne and Iroh's own son, Lu Ten, was young and healthy. The line of succession was secure and did not involve Ozai or his descendants. At the time of their wedding, any children born to Ozai and Ursa would not fulfill the obligation of uniting the Fire Lord line with Roku's line, as Ozai was not in position to become Fire Lord until Lu Ten's death and the events we see in "Zuko Alone". In that case, the most logical explanation is that Azulon was using Ozai as a genealogical stopgap, using him and Ursa in order to ensure that their would be available descendants of Roku to marry into the Fire Lord line of a future generation. Following this logic, given that Lu Ten was young, unmarried, heterosexual/bisexual and in the direct line of succession, it seems reasonable to assume that any daughter produced by Ozai and Ursa would be considered a suitable spouse for Lu Ten. Through this understanding, we are able to see Zuko and Azula's childhood differently. Azulon isn't simply disinterested in Zuko due to any perceived weakness, he isn't interest in Zuko because a son of Ozai does not have a place in his plans. Azula is the favored child because she is being prepared for life as the wife of the future Fire Lord and Ozai favors her because she is his key to greater involvement and influence at the Royal court, improving his relationship with his father and strengthening ties with his nephew, the future Fire Lord Lu Ten.
But they’re cousins bruh, how would they marry and have a child, genetically that’d be bad, besides, Azula is favored because of her prodigious abilities, and also, anyone who wants to claim the throne can just challenge the heir to an Agni Kai and if they win then they’ll overthrow them, Azula could very well challenge anyone and take the throne (if she’s mentally ok)
Nah, not even in her latest comic did she kill Ty Lee when she had the opportunity, she’d only kill Aang but for different reasons; because he’s the avatar and that’s how the war was going to end, honestly the original Azula wouldn’t even waste her time dressing up to deceive some random peasants
The thing to me I'm not sold with this Azula is that instead of the psychotic, privileged, entitled brat that she is in the animated show, here she is presented more as a jealous, envious entitled brat. Her first underlying insanity is not present as in the Animated show, here she is more of an overly eager apprentice, or younger child that wants to show off more than anything and get the approval of her dad. In the animated series, she is devilishly intelligent, but ultimately psychotic, her expressions of frustrations are more of a show of pure hate and rage at the simplest things and she definitely loves the suffering of others. But here she is more apathetic and wants to be recognized, while seemingly looking for empathy and understanding when she complains. Perhaps this might have been true with her mom, cause that is what we learned in the animated series, yet her father favored more her off the back since she was little because she displayed the same ruthlessness as her namesake Grandfather. While Zuko was not too appreciated by Ozai because he saw Zuko compassionate as their mother. We'll see if they continue the series and if eventually we see Azula as being like the real Azula, instead of an angry, envious, whiny child.
This is not body shaming. It is ridiculous that these chubby babies are the strongest warriors in the empire. Warriors hone their combat skills throughout their lives, and such training creates strong bodies. A strong body comes with a beautiful body. They would have been so cute if they came out as normal elementary school students. But they are cold blooded ninjas who have honed their murder skills all their lives. It looks like mai will be hiding a doughnut, not a dagger, from his sleeve. If you don't like unrealistic body types, then don't create unrealistic stories. Change it like this Princess Azula likes McDonald's and listens to K-pop songs as a hobby. Her mission is not to hunt down the most powerful man in the world but to win a dance contest. Okay, no problem.
do you ever watch the episode of ATLA (animated) where the gang dressing as firenation civilian and goes to watch a theater about themselves like "live action" then find out that the actor look waaayy different to them? 😂 i mean... its an actor
@@Ocidad You're right. The show in the Fire Nation was a comedy genre, so the entire cast of the show is a pure joke. I can't hold back my laughter whenever the Azula trio comes out. WHAT A JOKE 🙃
Yas.. In the animation the fire Nation always have a good looking more than other Nation, the Film was better than the others one, but the actress was dissapointing.
Azula tell what is it you truly desired throne or your father respect cause your brother prince zuko just wanted to come home and Lord ozia to not see him as a failure
For me, she didn't capture Azula like a lot of us hoped. At least like i'd hoped. Azula is the real "main villain" in ATLA that we all love to hate because as much as she is evil and psychotic, she is also extremely smart and extremely powerful (more powerful than the firelord even, at least in the cartoons). And she is so complex, that you just can't help but be interested in her character. But here, she seems so weak and cliché. She's like any other teenage villain in any other cookie cutter media with one. She looks uncertain and insecure on some scenes especially the one with her father, Ozai. She also looks like a typical teenager whining in front of her friends Ty Lee and Mai. Showing a fragile ego, vulnerability and her human side. That's not my Azula. (At least not Book 1 Azula) I guess you would argue that it made her character more realistic and true to her age. BUT. SHE IS AZULA. THAT WAS HER THING, SHE IS NOT A TYPICAL TEENAGER. Why remove Azula's whole essence as a character just to show "realism"? The main thing about Azula is she's an expert liar, she has a great poker face. She's a master manipulator. She only shows emotions in miniscule ways, mostly in her eyes. And that's very rarely. She has this aloofness and confidence to her that makes her very intimidating. And every time she spoke, you just have to listen, because you just know she's right. But here she shows too much emotions for me, envy, jealousy, insecurity, uncertainty bitterness, bratiness, etc. It just didn't feel right. And I had the opposite problem with Katara's live actress. Barely any emotions on her. It was so frustrating watching this series. Edit: I forgot about one secret ingredient to why her character was a favorite too, her sense of humor! I mean, where'd it go? Where are the witty and evil one liners? I wish they had better writers and directors. This could've been more than what it was.

Ozai really doesn’t interact much with her which is maybe something this show is trying to *correct* especially if they’re trying to give her some sort of devolved arc
In this one he’s meant to be more “human” still a sociopath but he did express sadness when burning zuko in this show because he genuinely believed it was needed tough love and he reminds Azula constantly that despite being banished zuko is still doing more than her and contributing to their nation intentionally starting a rivalry to make her push herself harder into being a more useful tool
the first scene shows me that the azula we could've gotten was there and she was exactly the way I remembered her in the show cunning ruthless and without empathy yet calm cool and collected it feels like after that first scene where we meet her she's just treated like Zuko 2.0 which is sad because the actor seems to know how she should be played but has to do what the writing says so but it's so weird seeing people give azula's actress so much backlash despite her not having control over the writing or the story I don't blame her I mostly blame the writing it kept her surface level its like she was a mixture of early s2 in that first scene then after that it was later half of s3 azula who was crazy and psychotic but I can see this actress getting there she just needs to be given the right material
I don't understand your reasoning here. The first scene, she literally smiled at the people (she sold out) being burned alive by Ozai. Is that not how Azula is? She was the one who manipulated events behind the scenes that led to the conflict between Zhao and Zuko. Based off that, we know she is cunning and manipulative.
Yeah but the entire season, sets that up in a way that's so janky (it telling us more than showing us with useless scenes) after her introduction, the show bascially has her just complain be mad or upset just because her brother is doing well, In my opinion those scenes after this one carried no substantial weight to the series, overall it just relegated Azula as like Zuko 2.0, now if it was me I would've just had her whole season be about her spending time in the rebel camps show her bonding with the people in the scene over the course of the season while showing ozai receiving messages from a spy here and there every episode, through these moments we could see little bits of sabotage done by her to help the firenation snuff out rebel camps I'd recommend she even takes a life in the series just to show how brutal she is (kind of like the way homelander does in the boys) with no remorse, so that we get a different look at someone whose confident and has favor in the eyes of her father, therefore when we do see zhao getting help it could eventually lead to a reveal later on that explains who was helping zhao from a far. and then once we see that scene where the rebels are sold out because of her she could be given a full arc of meaning rather than wasteful screentime of her just complaining and whining, all I'm saying is that there are alternatives to what they could've done, in terms of zhao I think if we would've had seen her mission play out in comparison to zuko then we would be able to establish her character and the way she moves and thinks and why ozai prefers her in the show but tv is subjective because so if you liked her arc I'm glad all I'm saying is that there are others who felt her story was lackluster and i don't blame the actress or nothing just the writing, her story structure and where they took her character. They could've kept the twist of zhao telling zuko but it'd be better if we didn't know why we kept seeing this woman throughout the show with the rebels until its revealed that what we've been seeing is a flashback and the room we keep seeing a spy go into is azula's quarters where she is commanding people to help zhao, (sure they had her involved but at what cost reception online shows me that no one is really as scared of the character as much as they should be because) again all on the part of the writing and the story but yeah it needs work.@@syzorst

@pulpminer6865 Actually these scenes of Azula are necessary not useless because it gives a layer of character to Azula that we never saw when it comes to her relationship with Ozai. In the animated series, we hardly saw Azula's interaction with Ozai. All we mostly got was she was praised by Ozai. Here we see that she craves Ozai's approval just like Zuko does but in a different way. She doesn't realize she's already Ozai's favorite and It also highlights how much of a manipulator Ozai is and we see who Azula inherited how manipulation skills from him. We see how it was Azula who suggested to Ozai to promote Zhao and then manipulate events behind the scenes to help Zhao get the avatar so Zuko can't come back. Furthermore, we actually see Azula stand up to Ozai and telling him "No, I'm done playing games". Which is something we never saw Azula do in the animated series. Yes, her character here is not perfect but what can you expect from a 14 year old girl?
as I said I wasn't blaming the girl I was critiquing the writing but like I said in my statement I just don't think she was handled well in the writing for her she felt redundant why is Zuko there if she's going to have a similar yet slightly different arc from his it feels like explaining something that was never there then again that comes with adaptation and I don't think they adapted her well because now no one takes her seriously, sure they fear ozai more but its just a waste of time in the overall narrative and could be executed different even if it was the same narrative with her winning her father's approval a good show will add a bit of a weight to the twist not just say it or do it outright but then again that's just my take I truly respect yours and I'm glad you got a lot out of that storyline geniunely its nice to see two people can disagree and still have a meaningful discussion on what worked and what didn't work and analyze why so I appreciate the back and forth it shows we are both passionate and desire even more for this show to improve which I hope it will, as I enjoyed the first season for the most part. but it sucks the storyline just doesn't work for me as it did for you but that's life not everyone will like the same thing and it seems by the comment I'm not alone in my thinking but I'm sure there's also some in your camp otherwise thank you for the robust and respectful conversation.@@syzorst

@Ther3al420 She comes off as bratty only when it comes to wanting approval from Ozai? That's nothing new, during the scene when Ozai declared himself the Phoenix king, we saw how "bratty" Azula was acting when Ozai wanted to lead the attack towards the Earth king alone and wanted her to stay to guard the fire nation.
This is not a great adaptation of Azula. Azula's relationship here resembles Zuko's more than it does azula. Constantly vying for fathers attention, never being good enough and to an extent, being a spoiled whiny brat. that is what book 1 zuko is. Azula is supposed to be cold, calculated and precise. She never had to beg for Ozai's attention and praise, ozai ruled his family based on merit, that's why azula and zuko are treated the way they are respectively. That's why azula is such a menace, she has the skills and merit to back it up. This one is a whiny cry baby with no agency who is literally not effective for anything lmao. Azula's abuse is not based on neglect from her father or wanting love from, it's from wanting to be like him, ruling based on fear and cunning and when fear and cunning does not work for her anymore she falls apart. That's azula.
I don't see how you missed it. Remember that this is an adaptation so it's not exactly going to be the same. Furthermore, this show goes into depth of how Azula before her introduction in season 2. Also even in the original, Azula did crave her father's attention but the difference is she already had it in the original show but we saw what happened in the "Pheonix King" episode when Ozai seemingly brushed her aside and told her to stay. She was upset. In this show, she is cunning and manipulative. We saw how she rooted out traitors in the fire nation and we also saw how she manipulates events behind the scenes regarding Zhao and Zuko. This show actually shows the depth of Azula and Ozai's relationship which we hardly saw in the original show.

Azula in this series isn’t as tough.
It's okay to fat shame men tho huh

@@MrMegas2 Seriously though. It would’ve killed two birds with one stone. Ozai introducing the audience to Azula as the Fire Nation princess and also to get across to the rebels that they were duped in a more significant way.

Also they barely made zuko call iroh “uncle” as in the animated series he addresses him by uncle almost every time they’re together
They'd expect you to know as she is the prince's brother.
My theory:
Ozai plays both siblings against each other to increase Azula's strong will and her anger.
That was literally the point lmfao
It's a family tradition it seems: Fire Lord Taiso pitted his children Sozin and Zeisan against each other; Chaejin tried to usurp Zoryu; and Iroh and Ozai used to have the most heated pai sho games, often ending with Ozai flipping the table when he knew he was losing.
cute, but I'd still prefer animated Azula.. but it'll do just like mommy Danny's burning escapades in King's Landing.
I think she plays an amazing Azula, and I can't wait for season 2!
2:00 That 'yeah well' sounded cool, most of the other script and facial expressions kinda seem forced, like she doesn't actually feel that way, like she's just dancing to her father's strumming instead of by her own will. 4:14 Well, that part also seems like how a real person would act, instead of just reading the lines
4:53 but it doesn't last long...
She might spend more time at that sort of behavior that we see in season two in season three
Pitted not petted
4:59, notice the corner of Azula’s left eye. It looks like she has a tear in it.
This brings a question: why does she have a tear in her eye? Is it a tear of fear because she is afraid of her father burning her? Or is it an angry tear because she’s angry at how her father is treating her?
Probably both

5:58 FOR THE FIRE NATION!!
Azula is the favored child because she is being prepared for life as the wife of the future Fire Lord and Ozai favors her because she is his key to greater involvement and influence at the Royal court, improving his relationship with his father and strengthening ties with his nephew, the
future Fire Lord Lu Ten.
Buena teoría
But they’re cousins bruh, how would they marry and have a child, genetically that’d be bad, besides, Azula is favored because of her prodigious abilities, and also, anyone who wants to claim the throne can just challenge the heir to an Agni Kai and if they win then they’ll overthrow them, Azula could very well challenge anyone and take the throne (if she’s mentally ok)

@@tracim3080Well we never really saw Azula in season 1 before so perhaps for season 2 she'll be a lot more confident.
Yes! She's such a good Azula!
Nah, not even in her latest comic did she kill Ty Lee when she had the opportunity, she’d only kill Aang but for different reasons; because he’s the avatar and that’s how the war was going to end, honestly the original Azula wouldn’t even waste her time dressing up to deceive some random peasants
Isn’t her fire suppose to be blue
They're making a Season 2 and 3
Also I think that Ozai breaking her bit by bit will make her more manipulative and cunning later in the show

WHERE IS AZULA'S BLUE FIRE
It was blue in a brief scene
That’s the whole point of her name, AZULA, which is a nod to the word of blue in Spanish
This isn’t Azula
(At least not Book 1 Azula)
I guess you would argue that it made her character more realistic and true to her age.
This could've been more than what it was.

the first scene shows me that the azula we could've gotten was there and she was exactly the way I remembered her in the show cunning ruthless and without empathy yet calm cool and collected it feels like after that first scene where we meet her she's just treated like Zuko 2.0 which is sad because the actor seems to know how she should be played but has to do what the writing says so but it's so weird seeing people give azula's actress so much backlash despite her not having control over the writing or the story I don't blame her I mostly blame the writing it kept her surface level its like she was a mixture of early s2 in that first scene then after that it was later half of s3 azula who was crazy and psychotic but I can see this actress getting there she just needs to be given the right material

Would be more cool and edgy if azula may and tylee were captured by bounty hunters or pirates and fought their way out
This is not a great adaptation of Azula.

Ozai doesn't give 2 ducks about her anyway
so cuute
Princess Azula
My reaction:
😍
Azula in this series isn’t as tough. If they’re going to do things a bit differently in this series, there should be a future episode where Team Avatar captures Azula in an attempt to learn her latest plan, and she spends most of her captivity taunting them, and the episode ends with Azula escaping custody.
How is she not tough, we saw how ruthless she was in beating down her trainer and easily dominated the earthbender. Furthermore, we saw her literally stand up to Ozai and told him "No, I'm done" which is something we never saw her do in the animated series.
Tylee should be in the circus
Didn't really give Azula but still pretty good for a "reimagining". I really enjoyed the show. Everyone did a great job although I would definitely change the direction they went with for Azula.
Maybe more snake, and less fire? I want to see her be cold with an iron facade, only going crazy during those few scenes where she gets pushed. No tantrums. All prim and proper. The people admire her, except the top of the top brass who know of her early outbursts and occasional "meals". Either that, or we go full Azula.
edit: also, she gives jealous asian telenovela brat who wants to get the conglomerate instead of proper spiteful sociopath.
No, I don't like Azula here. She's not fit for the role.
Idk how these people accept roles knowing they look nothing like the character they’re supposed to portray
@@ivanm8682 , you're absolutely right.
Her fire is orange and yellow 🎶problem🎶
It will probably get blue later though but man it’s def a problem that it’s not already blue.
@@musa8693it was. We get to see it become blue with her cunning.
Her costume is really ugly, bad choice.
It's Fatzula not Azula
Let's not be too mean on the poor girl
@@fishyfish6510 many actors/actress sacrifice time and many efforts for their roles, from shaving their hair, diet, bodybuilding plan etc..
I don't see that effort in her and others azula trio.
It's a critique to all actors/actress and also the show runner and producers.
Loses some or gain some weight for the roles its normal and professionalism in entertainment industry, and not body shaming.
Will you accept if superman played by Steve Roger before get the serum?
It will be ridiculous.
Accepting, forgiveness and tolerance will only make it worsened..
Even this Avatar series come to exist because many critics the flop Night Samalan's Avatar live action.
So no, critics must be hurt to make them realize.
Tolerance are once again desecrating the original source
@@airakazadnawri5766 girl. the actress has a ROUND face. if you look at actual pictures of the actress, she's not fat. and if you think she's still fat after viewing the pictures, you have a problem
@@xeibear4865 for azula character she is too fat, don't use an obsess American as standard fat or not fat, or as her face is round as an excuse.
It just adds more confirmations that she's not fit for the roles.
Let me illustrate with other actors, is Jared Letto's body too skinny? Of Course not, but if he gets a superman/shazam roles then he certainly too skinny.
And it's normal for fans to make a fuss
azula🤪🤪🤤🤤💋💋
1:27 - 1:34 I could see Azula doing this when no one was watching and it would have been nice for the live action to show us that part of her, her insecurities and everything that eventually lead to her losing it but I really think these scenes ruined her character.
She alright, I mean, I literally had no age appropriate Asian actresses in mind for Azula's role, and had Lilimar Hernandez as the perfect cast since she looks like a younger version of Azula's voice actress, whom Azula's facial features, mannerisms and expressions have been confirmed by the creators to be based of off.
We have Aboola 😢, Thigh Lee 🦵, and Moo 🐮
absolutely vile
ty lee is okay imo
Ty Lee is fine
Ty Lee is fine.
Bro think she dangerous & scary lol
Here the rebels were manipulated by Azula. Why? Because of her sweet and innocent face. I understand why she doesnt have an evil face. If she did have an evil face no one would be manipulated!
It's a nice new detail, surely Azula would continue to use it to her advantage
they didn't necessarily capture her cunningness, finnese or slight psychoticness (before she broke at the end of the OG show). It also seemed like she has more of zuko's anger which in some ways make them more like siblings. But they definitely are building her drive which might come out to play more in the next Season along with further lightning use and blue fire.
Azula is athletic very good looking calm smart this is a huge disappointment
Please Let There Be Season 2
Azula shouldn't have leaned so hard on the rice balls...
She kept eating mai's mochi
Lmfao 😂@@memebrain2177
Or ozie deem zuko worthy for ruling the nation and azula crying cause she lost the power
Aaaaaw so cute
Why Mai so fat? The casting crew just disrespect Og Mai
She isn’t fat she has a round face. People can have a round face and still be very skinny. What is literally wrong with people. Kids are on social media they see this. If this is your problem with the actor and not the actual acting I think you need to rethink your standards.
@@talkingweevil3172a lil bit fat yes, obviously chubby. did I mentioned her acting skills? No ididt, i talked about the casting process like wthell,
Original mai is skinny and her face features just fit with her cold personality.
Now comparing to this one, LOL.
The cast of Azulla is already a dissatisfaction but okay.
But Mai.... Come on😂
There's no way the actress can pull off how graceful and deadly mai in the anime was lol. The casting directors did Mai dirty.
Like any of you guys are skinny honestly body shaming children 🤢🤮
It's her armor/costume. It makes her look puffy, if her robe is fitted and without that many layers it probably would make her look petite more. Her hair can do more volume too to make her face look sharper.
Same with Azula, it looked like her costume can be less voluminous.
I think they'll pull it off.
nooooo noooo those 3 look bigger especially Mai
People say why is she so wild. Well, thats only in her fight scenes. We have few scenes of her manipulating and politicing and she was calm like the first scene. However, We have a lot of scenes where she is physically training. So of course it would come off like that.
But i do hope she and her friends would slim down more. If thats too much to ask.
I see Merida did better
Their acting lacks the mischievous allure and the charm of cartoon Azula. It's a poor representation of Azula's character, it's as if it's not her at all. I don't think they're even acting at this point, like they're just being themselves. The visual features are important as well, they lack heavily on facial expression so it looks bland. They should've picked someone with sharper facial features atleast.
1:31-2:31, 4:18-4:38 Azula's team
the three babes in ATLA forgot to do some diet😂😂😂
Except Ty lee
Azula is cute, but Mei is short and fat, not tall and lanky.
The casting for Azula and her two friends was/is absolutely dreadful. They did a decent job with most castings but these three, dear God, it was bad.
Tai Lee wasn’t bad, ppl would just rather throw her in bc azula looks bad and Mai was completely horrible.
@@elisitbon4672 She looked nothing like Tai Lee, dude. From the hair, to the outfit, to the body, to everything. I have no problem giving leeway on casting when it is called for but these three, the casting at least, was terrible and giving them a pass means they will screw us fans over again and again. Until we say "no more", they will keep doing it and I will no longer support that nonsense.
I wonder if she'll be calmer
I mean she actually looks like 14
…no
