In Superman 4 he creates Nuclear Man to kill Superman and although I am not fond of Nuclear Man because he was played by a former Chip N Dales stripper and looked like one meets a California surfer dude created with Superman's DNA ala the strand of Superman hair and his weakness is the dark and his powers like Superman are drawn from the sun I do like how Hackman's Lex says to Superman "Good night sweet prince. A brief exchange but really perfectly summarizes Superman and Luthor's rivalry.
Reminds me of Dark Knight's Joker saying, "I think you and I are destined to do this forever."
Definitely does for sure. Especially when often in the comics, the one reason Lex LOATHES Clark is all that power he has, and that he won't kowtow to someone like him. But it's also the fact too Luthor is just too arrogant to be humbled, too arrogant to understand someone will always be stronger or better than you, or that even as smart as you are, there's someone smarter. That arrogance coupled by his inability to "control" Clark, as well as all that power Clark has and how he craves it himself, is why that dialogue fits well to Lex and Clark's rivalry over the decades.

These are the same ppl that think Eternals was a good movie, so who cares what they think.
There were different versions of Lex Luthor in alternate DC Comics. They hate one of the comic versions of himself, unfortunately.
I don't get how you think Jesse Eisenberg's Luthor doesn't suck, are you him? Are you Jesse Eisenberg and this is some sort of dummy account? Cause his Luthor is god awful, weak motivations, terrible aesthetic. InCel Luthor needs to go.
People probably expected a deep voice calm headed bald muscular dude that we all grow up in the cartoons and we get a complete counter to that. Nothing bad.
This Lex is slim, had hair, high pitch voice, and a bit wild with his emotions. Feels unusual and not a familiar face.
Nevertheless, this Lex was unhinged evil to the max. Dude planned out everything including pissing in a jar. That's pure evil and planning to kill someone's mom. Like Jesus Dude.

To those who say that this Doomsday looks nothing like in the comics, they should read Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey.
True. In fact, it's also pretty same as Doomsday from Death of Superman but with out bone-picks, like a shave version. Plus it's Zod's body, which means also looks similar to Zod's face but a little bit more monstrous.
It's a good Doomsday to me.
Also don’t forget that in the JL: Unlimited cartoon Doomsday was a CADMUS project, not the ancient long-lost curse of Bertron from prehistoric Krypton

Lex Luthor is a wordsmith for sure, and Jesse Eisenberg NAILS that in this movie constantly
Whoever acted the role for lex luthor did a great job
Jessie eisenberg
My favourite scene is the one atop Lex Corp when Luthor black-mails Superman into fighting Batman.
The old Luthor always concocted some monster every week for Superman to fight, I don't understand why the fans were outraged at Lex for doing it this time.
People are just hateful sheep who go with what is popular. Now this movie is getting the much earned respect it deserves and those same people that hated it now are praising it as a masterpiece. The lack of individuality makes me sick.
I have barely read any DC comics myself and most of my knowledge comes from internet surfing, plus seeing snippets of other Superman media. But from what I can understand...
Lex Luthor started out in early comics simply as a younger mad scientist, who is obsessed with destroying Superman, sometimes needs to be saved from his own schemes/creations, and even had a full head of hair. The idea was that Lex Luthor and Superman mirror each other in that “Brains vs. Brawn” sense.
As the source material began to evolve, however, Lex Luthor started to also be the equal and opposite to Superman’s slogan of “Truth, justice, and the American way”. Supposedly, this influenced the character to have added qualities like being a military contractor, successful capitalist, charismatic celebrity, and sometimes even president of the United States. In that sense, Lex Luthor would also represent how powerful and influential people in America can become corrupt, on top of being the brains to Superman’s brawn.
I think the issue some fans have with BvS’s Lex Luthor is that those elements mentioned in the previous paragraph seem to be downplayed. Granted, Jesse Eisenberg’s performance does arguably harken back to the older versions of Lex Luthor. But some might find that to be a regression of Lex Luthor’s character, in a similar vein as many DC fans feeling disappointed, when a newer version of Mr. Freeze lacks the animated series’ backstory with his wife, which gave him newfound popularity in the first place.
@Kryptoskillet Maybe more than one character can have the same name? So the monster was made from reanimating Zod's body. How much of him is still there?
“I don’t know how to lose” 10/10 best dialogue I have heard in my entire life

Supes is a good guy, he can't help himself. Him saving lex from his own evil creation proves he is the best super hero 💪
It’s amazing how close Lex goes to Superman because he truly knows Superman will not kill and if he does then he wins
“Id rather do the breaking in person”, Ben Affleck’a Batman is easily the most intimidating
Lex: “Gotham Roast, well done…. hello, break the bad news”
Batfleck: “I’d rather do the breaking in person.”

let's talk about how good Jesse Eisenberg's acting here is. from the delivery of his lines to the body language.
That doesn’t make it all good. I don’t know what WB or Zack was smoking when it comes to casting, but this has got to be one of the worst villain castings ever. Since when did Lex acted all zany, annoying, and psychotic insane. That’s like casting Adam Sandler as Loki. I hope that James Gunn can do the character justice.

I'd disagree slightly. In this scene and the earlier scene on the helipad, Lex plays with fire (Superman) but seems to still be terrified of him as he trembles in his presence a few times. Anyone saying this isn’t the “real” doomsday or “real” lex obviously don’t realize there different interpretations and versions of the characters. This version of doomsday was created by lex using kryptonian tech and zods body so yes there are differences from comic versions but hey atleast it’s a different take on the character. I mean tony stark didn’t create Vision and ultron in the comics but when he did it in the mcu no one complained about that. As far as lex Like I said different interpretations but I believe he was good even tho some people didn’t really like his craziness but cmon don’t act like lex has never acted or done crazy stuff in the animated series or comics.
Everyone loves the Lex Luthor from Superman the Animated Series, but they forget that the Lex from there was also looney at times too- go as far as to making dad jokes every now and then. Most of the time he was an angry bald headed man and was much less the calm composed business tycoon everyone wanted Jesse's Lex to be. They're just conjuring an imagination figure up in their heads.
As far as I'm concerned, this Lex has the main Lex qualities: egotistical, intelligent, and power hungry evident in literally every incarnation of Lex. Not an agent of chaos like Joker. Not a pompous show-off like Riddler. The embodiment of a man playing God.
Yeah this lex is from birthright comic
So this was just a really bad idea like everything in here. Noted.

I like how lex learned to create a doomsday from the information that was available to him after accessing the ship. Kinda cool
Can’t say I’m a fan of Jesse’s Lex, but he killed it here and the rooftop scene.
I don’t mind Lex being insane and unhinged like this, but it should have been a slow descent into madness.
He is not "insane". He always thought he was in control for a logical reason. He thought he could control Doomsday with his blood because probably the Kryptonian ship told him that the original Doomsday was controlled through the blood of its creator. But something went wrong during the process (cause Zod was not just a dead Kryptonian but a superpowered one, or maybe because the ship was just "37% operational", or because Lex's blood was not Kryptonian etc...) so Doomsday went out of control
i know people were shitting on how this doomsday looked but what other people failed to see is that whilst fighting superman he was evolving and at the same time growing spikes, yes it was only a little but it was there and we couldve gotten more of him evolving and growing more spikes if doomsday was sent to the phantom zone or got punt out of the space where he can get another shot at being destroying supes just like in the animated series instead of being killed in the same movie
I like the look of Doomsday. His birth reminds me of the Uruk-hais.
I love this scene, in fact i love this movie
0:44 - 1:18 I love how, when Lex is talking, Superman has his arms crossed like a disappointed parent
I know people hate this design for doomsday for not being comic accurate but I think we're forgetting that this is a baby doomsday, think about it the doomsday in the comics is over millions of years old and during that time he's been in battles and has destroyed countless worlds meaning he's had more than enough time to grow more and bigger spikes including his iconic spike beard. Meanwhile this doomsday is an hour old and died. If he wasn't killed in this film and had been in more fights and wiped some planets he'd definitely be more comic accurate.
Would love to see more interactions between this Lex and Superman in the future some day

As I do love this doomsday, and it’s look based off from some comics, I’m thankful that Zack confirms the real doomsday is some where out there...
Still thinks that this Doomsday could destroy the MCU Avengers.
How ?
Phoo Yeah cannot fight Thor, or Captain Marvel lol.
@@GatlingHawk good luck believing that
bitch stfu XD okay? Yah, and Wanda can launch him into space, or tear him apart by atoms, and doctor strange can rip him apart with magic, time stone, or his plethora of spells, trap him in any demension, Feed him to dormammu lmao.
Gatling Hawk Just compare the speed, strength and power between Thanos and Doomsday, watch them two fight, it clearly shows that Doomsday is like on another level.
This scene reminds me of Frankenstein‘s monster when Frankenstein created his monster let’s just say that Lex Luthor is Victor Frankenstein and doomsday is the monster ITS ALIVE ITS ALIVE ITS ALIVE
J'onn Jonzz: I could go and help fight Doomsday but I'll sit this one out for.. reasons.
The problem with fanservice scenes is that they usually don't make sense in the grand scheme of things. Usually.
J’onn Jonzz: maybe I should help?
Anyone: “general what should we do?!”
J’onn Jonzz: right I’m needed here.
1:50 "Blood of my blood, Born to destroy you, Your Doomsday" That line went super hard
Superman has super senses but can't hear the countdown to doomsday
Not if he only listen to Lex Luthor's words.
