Conversations with friends offer one of the best views on contemporary relationships, serving as a compendium not only of romance but also of friendship.
1. Conversation with friends 2.Everything I know about 3.DE profundis 4.Time stops at Shamli 5.The beautiful room is empty 6.Essays of love 7.The complete poem by Andrew Marvell 8. I hate and I love by Cattalus 9. khaton ka safarnama .......... I would recommend the prequel of "time stops at Shamali " named "Love is a sad song"
Factual. I saw this in 12th std where i couldn't be furthur away from the idea of love and romance as it was such an overwhelming time for me, i still carry bits and pieces of its story in my heart.
I have found this channel a while ago and it’s time I leave a message. These are such candid conversations about books and the books mentioned and discussed usually end up in my cart. Thanks for making these videos and keep going 👏👏👏
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR MENTIONING ALAIN DE BUTTON I LITERALLY TELL PEOPLE I LOVE THAT BOOK AND THEY START MAKING FACES AAGGHHH THANK YOU CHARU DI THIS GIRL LITERALLY VALIDATED MY LOVE FOR CHEEKY ROMANCEEEEE
I too love Conversation with Friends more than Normal People, although the Normal People TV show is the better one comparatively. In my opinion, Beautiful World, Where Are You is her best book yet- very relatable for us in our 30s. Intermezzo is on top of my TBR now!
Again, Call Me By Your Name as a book/movie should NOT be glorified. Elio was SEVENTEEN. It was not love, it was grooming- plain and simple. About time we realise the power dynamics that come into play with age difference.
Reducing a poignant and beautifully written novel to allegations of 'grooming' oversimplifies its exploration of complex human emotions, and ignores the fact that the legal age of consent in many European countries is indeed 16 or 17; moreover, the book is so well written on unrequited love and longing for a person, which I don’t think any other can top for.
Colleen Hoover ruined a generation of readers. Good for you,you didnt like her book. Toxic relationships, unwanted smuts and cheesy and terrible writing. I still dont understand how some people enjoy her works.
I think the "Romantic Literature" is not something that you are talking about. Romance books and Romantic Literature are two different things and meanings are also different.
Why why why😢, i don't understand, is Normal People associated with love, and why is it that modern love should be complex, the level of complexity that Normal People portrays makes me feel like its lust disguised as love for the sake of word play. I just dont understand the whole point of it, dont want to commit, also dont want to let go, hooking up at the boy's convenience. If thats modern love then the world is doomed.
I keep thinking, what am I missing with Sally Rooney? Then I realised her books are incomplete. She will add bits of woke to her "dialogue" and she tries really hard to get into the sense of "simple profound" in her writing. But she only writes about the, in a rather non-contextual way, snippets of everyone who went to Trinity College, Dublin. She wants to explore sexualities and forms of relationships in her books but becomes a hindrance to her own plot by, and sometimes unnecessarily so, trying to make everything "multifaceted and complicated."
Here I am mentioning 9 books she recommended. Watch the complete video to know the 10th book 😂 a. Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney b. Everything I know about Love by Dolly Alderton c. De Profundis by Oscar Wilde d. Khaton ka safarnama (Hindi book) e. Time stops at Shamli by Ruskin Bond f. The beautiful room is empty by Edmund White g. Essays in Live by Alain De Botton h. The complete poems by Andrew Marvell i. I hate and I love by Catullus

Happy All the Time by Laurie Colwin is also a wholesome book on love, courtship and marriage. It's funny and witty. Took me out of the reading slump.
