The pace of your speaking is apt, not too slow and not fast (like most other youtubers) which makes it soo soothing as mentioned by others in the commebt section.
Getting a Kindle actually changed my reading game! Its so so convenient and practical, easy to take everywhere, glare free and drak mode helps to read at night before sleeping ❤ Obviously I still love paperbacks and hardcovers but I always recommend getting a Kindle if they can afford it.
Thanks to this channel, I started reading over the last 3-4 months. It's nice to have a community specifically for this activity - it really gives newbies like me a great perspective.
This Western concept of reading more books or reading at more speed is utterly flawed. The brain can't process that much data. I suggest people read as slowly as possible, take pauses, process the knowledge, write notes, think, and then read again. These RUclipsrs propose everything as a mad race to impress their peers by reading several books. I am strongly against it. It just lifts the ego. Speed reading or reading more books is easy, like speed bicycling. Try do ride your bicycle slower and slower, it will become difficult. Contrary to the popular belief, read as less as possible but select good books. Read as slow as possible but absorb and process more.
I cannot agree more. One of the most powerful books I've read is "The Power of Unwavering Focus" by Dandapani. He talks about the importance of 'staying narrow and deep' with reading - to pick a select few quality books, and then dive deep. My goal for reading now is not to hog as many books as I can in the shortest possible time. Instead, it is to read a few books of quality and absorb as much as I can.
I agree. But at the same time, there are so many genres. Whenever I am reading anything like literature, historical fiction, etc I read slowly and process what I am reading. But then there are genres like romance that do not require you to sit down with the book for days and take time to process what's happening. If you will see most western booktubers usually go for romance, fantasy, sci fi and maybe that's why they are okay with reading with a good speed. (Although there's really a problem with their overconsumption of books and not even reading everything they buy. That is definitely a problem). But unless you are reading books that need a lot of time to process, it's okay to read fast.
I used to struggle a lot to settle down to read a book and always overwhelmed by the number of pages but it's you who gave me the most logical solution for the problem, that is read a little at a time and it really helps a lot. Thank you Vaani❤
I want to read books but my problem is my vocabulary isn't good....its decent and as a result some words give me trouble and than i dont read that book again....i also read books in a pdf form.
