Been a long time viewer on and off since '08. Thanks for sharing. Personally, I didn't care for the video game co-op content that much with Rambo. But I definitely watched Smark Guys religiously every week when you guys were doing it. I felt that if that had continued, you guys could have had something special cooking, especially since that there weren't a lot of wrestling podcast shows that were done in early 2012-2014. Really unfortunate that things didn't go well, and I'm sorry to hear that. It sounded like everyone involved just had their own communication problems. I really hope that you can manage to find friendship in some way because everyone deserves to find some happiness. Don't let this scar you forever.

Thank you for this, Phil. I've been a fan of yours since 2011, this whole stream felt like closure in a sense. I don't think I've ever seen you as emotional as in the last part when talking about your friends that passed away. I felt it, it was real. I know, because I've had to deal with loss and feelings of guilt as well, and couldn't help but cry with you.
I've never liked Howard at all, I thought he always came off as a bully and just general piece of shit, but of course, I never knew him personally. As for John, I really do hope he's happy and safe wherever he is.
And I'm in the same place as far as friendships go, I can't bring myself to call anyone a true friend anymore. Sure, I hang out with co-workers on rare occasions outside of work, but any deeper connections are gone and unlikely to happen, besides with my longtime gf. I'm grateful you decided to do this, even though you had to go through even more pain because of it, but I hope it helped you to get things off your chest.

John probably felt betrayed or left behind when Phil moved to Seattle. When Howard trashed Phil on stupid stuff, John just went along because he's not the type that confronts people on the spot. And John's issues with Phil were legit IMO. Phil should’ve offer John the $250 even if he says no. Cause if you know John's personality then you should be more considerate and fair. Maybe sometimes the co-op stuff doesn't make that much money but you know he's an important part of your content so you should try to keep him around. At the time, Phil should offer John to partner with him on the RUclips channel. Moving to Seattle with PandaLee was a mistake in retrospect. Btw, Howard was definitely just jealous and petty.

Dude do you not realize it's not about RUclips with John. RUclips was John's outlet. So if you go on and say John is the best RUclips of all time it doesn't mean anything to him. What is important to him is that he expressed to you that he was going through a hard time in real life and all you wanted to talk about was RUclips. He wanted you as his friend to call him and check on him. This is not that hard to get. This 5 minute segment letting it play where you talk about how good John was just shows how John's point went over your head. His point is that his real life was messed up and after asking you to back off on RUclips stuff you still jumped at the first opportunity to bring it back up. Then put out a 10 minute segment blasting him about being on RUclips when he didn't want to be.

end of the story, i guess they just weren't real friend from the beginning.... they capitalize on every mistake the man made. does that sound like something a friend does? kept a grudge going for years without every saying anything. does that sound like what a friend does? lol no..... that why people keep it real with each other. so there is no misunderstanding, right? just my 2 cents, and maybe im wrong....

Even though this was disappointing to hear, it was still cathartic to finally know what happened. I can relate to it because I lost contact with a lot of people I thought were friends and decided if they wanted would talk again they would find a way. I always decide not to push them because I figure they were busy or didn't want to talk to me for a reason. But I also had a friend where I was the one who ghosted him after he didn't understand my issues with him. I realized it was immature at the time to do and tried to reach out to him to apologize in 2020, but he still hadn't changed so I don't keep trying. A lot of the time what I most want when I think about things like that is to be able to say or do things that I missed a chance at. At the very least, in that case I can say I made the effort and respond accordingly if anyone asks about it.

I understand if you don't want to have friends cause you're an internet personality and have negativity surrounding you that could affect them, but that's a pessimistic viewpoint. All friendships are different and unique, not all friendships you have will be like John and Howard (fuck him btw for the low blow). Don't close yourself off because of this, people like you.

I remember watching some of the co-op playthroughs all those years ago. TV Superstars and Start the Party had some of the funniest moments.
It’s a shame when friendships fall apart like this, I’ve had similar experiences myself. Who knows, maybe things will work out eventually once everyone comes to their senses.

My favorite part about hearing about all this after so many years is to see the maturity and growth that happened. I like when he called himself out and stops himself from lying. And honestly when money is involved and there was probably some forms of jealousy over it or resentment, I think it was bound to happen when he involved his friends and mixed business with friendship. The people who watch this and doesnt understand it probably will run into it one day even when it comes to this like inheritances from family, money in general tears people apart no matter how close you think you are to people

Tbh... I think all 3 of you sucked at communicating. I also don't think Howard disliked you. I get the feeling Howard actually genuinely considered you way more as a friend than you considered him to be yours. Texting is super impersonal to many people Phil. But again... I think all parties mucked up in the communication department. And everyone involved turned it into a really toxic competition. One thing is definitely on you and you just did it once again. Stop talking about this stuff in public. Seriously. You say you learned alot from your mistakes... but you still keep doing this one. The video they made was definitely a revenge piece and they did it in the only language you seemed to understand because you kept doing it to them. Airing the laundry in the public.

I've watched your video on this topic and I can understand never wanting to speak to Howard again because of the things that were said, but I hurt when you talk about pushing people away because of the negativity that comes with being associated to you. I'm not sure if you will ever read this, but I don't think you should push GENUINE people away that GENUINELY want to interact and be friends with you because you think that it will stifle the negativity surrounding you and "protect" them. Negativity, sadly, will always follow us. You talk about what a true friend is but being a friend also means accepting the negativity that surrounds the person. Now I know with you it's different because you're a public figure on the Internet and it's gotten dangerous to the point of people wanting to actually do harm to you, but when I come on the stream, I see so many people that actually like your content and want to see you do well.... I see genuine people. You're a great content creator, but I think you are being self-destructive when you do that and even though you think you are doing it for the persons' own good. It's hurting you and idk maybe you don't even realize it. The people that love you for you WILL BE THERE FOR YOU EVEN IN THE NEGATIVITY. I say all of that to say, please do not push the genuine people away from you. You have a good eye for discernment. I'm pretty sure you can tell the difference between a malicious person and a good person. You deserve to have people that care about you and for you to be happy. Just because you're surrounded by negativity on a daily basis, doesn't mean that you should lock yourself away from people that want to be there for you, see you do good, and be your friend.

I think it's sad that it ended this way and even though I understand and respect your position I still feel like it's never too late to get in touch with each other again. It sucks that you deleted John's contact. There is nothing shameful in the fact that you tried to contact them when you were depressed.
To me it's clear the whole thing was a classic case of miscommunication/lack of empathy for each other fueled by each one's respective personal problems and the public/internet dynamic.
It's never too late and if both of you want you could still communicate. You wouldn't even have to make it public. None of us ever have to know.
The reason I'm even invested in this is me sort of growing up with your videos back then, including John and the others whom I also loved.
You're not a part of our - the viewers' - actual lifes and we aren't part of yours vice versa but this still had a meaning to me, to us, in different ways.
I wish all of you nothing but the best.

It sounds to me like JohnRambo had a huge disappointment with his muse, and it was so devastating, this one last push he did with his IP, that he couldn't recover from it and just wanted to cut anything that was remotely associated with youtube including Phil, and gradually and slowly return to the normal rat race called life.

I think this is a good example of poor communication and people thinking they know another persons intentions. I definitely think they were bitter but that had probably worn off.

I just thought about something, when Howard and John mentions that Phil is sending them text messages late at night, I don’t think anyone realizes the time difference between west coast Seattle and East Coast Connecticut. There is a three hour time difference. If Phil is sending them a text message at 7 PM John and Howard are getting it at 10 PM, which for them might be too late but for Phil it would be early.
